JESUS FUCKING CHRIST!

You know, I’m probably damning myself just for posting this. Larry “Have a sense of humor for Christ’s Sake” Brogan (Tattoo City, Lockport, IL) is probably also damned, and the wearer of this tattoo? Definitely headed for a warmer climate!

  1. I love it, hilarous. I cant wait until we get a religous freak posting about the tattoo.

  2. :/ I’m not even religious, I’ve never attended a church service and I’m atheist by default…but like, the guy died, right? Isn’t it kinda in poor taste to turn that into a joke?

    Playing devil’s advocate here.

  3. One thing in my life that I’ve always tried to do was to respect everyone’s beliefs. I am a Christian and it hurts to see stuff like this. I know what it’s like to have something special to me be made a mockery, so I don’t do it to others. I don’t push my beliefs on anyone. I just wish people could be more respectful of other’s beliefs. You may not believe in it, but jeez.

I know I’m kind of the oddball out on this one.

  4. Great tattoo. Very funny and clever and all that’s good about free speech….blah blah… I also can’t wait for the damnation speeches. Bring ‘em on!

  5. This is wrong on so many levels, but at the same time I get the humor behind this and it does make me smile. I may go to hell for that one, but I hope God can be a little understanding with this one, heh.

And kudos for the reach around.

  6. haha fucking awesome.

personally, i have nothing against the people that get offended by this stuff, and i’ll try to refrain from making fun of them if they start posting all their crap about how they don’t like this for whatever reason.

this is a not a blog about religion, beliefs, etc. its about body modification so none of that shit should really enter the arena. i know it will so i guess i should start thinking of funny things to say about jesus

  7. Nothing like a little blasphemy in the morning…ah hell, 24/7!

This is the best thing since Mother Theresa finally kicked the bucket!

  8. seeing as this is only a interpretation of what jesus looked liked(because we all know that jesus had a mini-afro and dark skin like all nice jewish people did at that time.),i think it’s really funny.i’d personally love to be the one fucking christ:)

  9. i have to admit, not being in anyway christian, i dont really agree with doing something that you know will upset a lot of people.. funny as a drawing, going a bit far as a tattoo though… *argh im gonna get burned for that!*

  10. I have to agree with Panties on this one. I’m not religious in any way, but if something like this is going to be posted on ModBlog, why not post a picture of a tattoo that says, “I hate niggers,” or something equally offensive.

  11. YES! YES! OH MY FUCKING GOD, YES!!

I nominate this as “Best Tattoo Ever”

  12. #25, we have seen aryan pride tattoos and many other tattoos that are offensive to others on ModBlog. I appreciate that Shannon keeps censorship to a minimum.

  13. Considering he’s posted SS, other various White Power tattoo’s and that “Niggers Stink” tattoo, I think I’d call it the norm for Modblog.

  14. Wow. Did some one just say not to do shit that would make people upset. So we shouldn’t have set the slaves free, i mean the whole southern part of america was pretty pissed off about that one. Or what about a womens right to vote alot of men were upset then. You can’t make every one happy all you can do is make your self happy. So stop being a baby about a tattoo.

  15. #25

Considering he’s posted SS, other various White Power tattoo’s and that “Niggers Stink” tattoo, I think I’d call it pretty balanced on what it’s offensive towards.

  16. Not really the same as those SS tattoos, and the other offensive things metioned above, now is it.

  17. I’m glad I’m not the only one that feels that way! I honestly thought I’d get stoned!

I just think the world would be much better if we were all a bit more respectful of each other :)

  18. btw, I meant “stoned” as in pelted with rocks….

I’m already “stoned” in the other sense, ha

  19. i agree that censorship may not be a bad thing…
    however, personally, this offends me.

i guess it’s just me, though.

  20. this tatto being about jesus doesn’t really bother me. what gets to me most is the looks on their faces. the jesus doing the fucking looks like pure evil and the jesus getting fucked looks like he’s not enjoying it one bit. :(

  21. This tattoo is only offensive if you think that Jesus being gay is a bad thing, right?

  22. I agree, some will take it badly because it’s “disgracing their icon” but it really doesn’t say anything about the religion itself, just the phrase.

Personally, I laughed out loud when I saw it, and not many things get me that quickly.

“Blass for me, blass for you, blass for everybody in the room”

  23. i think its hard to look happy with a ball gag inyour mouth. he’s getting a reach around so he’s obviously excited! you go jesus, pound christ’s ass!

  24. I laughed a little at the title, but honestly I think this tattoo is really disrespectful. Everyone was up in the air about the bin laden 9/11 tattoo, but it’s ok to laugh at someone’s religion?

I don’t like this tattoo at all, and I have no religious beliefs whatsoever. I just think it’s rude and disrespectful

  25. This is wrong in so many ways…but, ok, for some reason I’m laughing at it. I guess just seeing the phrase “Jesus Fucking Christ” illustrated…
Yup, I’m going to Hell with a lot of other people.

  26. I like the content of it enough to giggle. But I love the actual artwork! It’s a beautiful piece.

  27. The Jesus Fucking Christ used to be a pretty popular drawing on myspace, I still see it once in a while.

  28. although I see the humour behind the tattoo, and I must admit I find it amusing myself, my first thought was that somewhere, somebody is going to be hurt by this.

The artist who did this is extremely talented, and i’m going with amused, but slightly off put.

  29. “Offensive” shit like this has been posted on ModBlog before, if you’re going to bitch about it, stop coming here willingly.

I love the fact that all this person did was take a phrase most of you have probably said at some point in your life, made it literal and everyone freaks out about it.

Either way you look at it, it’s a good quality tattoo.

  30. I’m no way into religion, but even I think that tat is wrong; that’s crazy, man! Yeah, the image is real funny… though having it on your body all for display is a bit obnoxious, don’t you think?

  31. Seeing tattoos like these on ModBlog simply lights up my day and fuels my desire to push more in-your-face ink. Not too taken aback though (… and i wonder if an absence of reaction is good?), but maybe i’m just numb…

*raps finger impatiently for that ever-elusive Christy Bibile Thumpin’ comment*

  32. Oh, this reminds me, “Jesus Titty Fucking Christ” should be his next tattoo.

  33. hahahh this is so awesome

people need to get a sense of humor honestly

if it offends you fine cool awesome, no one really cares, just cause you are offended doesnt mean everyone else is

god damn i love the freedom jesus got pounding in the ass for

  34. I agree that people should be good to each other and respect each other, but censorship is not the answer. This is a site known for showing offensive things, if something offends you, skip over it. Offensive things exist, saying “we should all be good to each other,” isn’t going to change that, considering “offensive” is completely subjective and everyone’s ideas aren’t always going to match.

I think this tattoo is hilarious, but I think it should be covered up around young children. What really gets to me though is how well done it is, and how simple a phrase it is and it yet it has so much detail.

  35. that is seriously the best tattoo ever, put me in the burn in hell camp cause that shits fuckin funny. I agree with pauly 100% about anybody who gets offended by this

  36. respecting other people’s religions is a habit of mine. even if christians don’t always respect my religion, i try and give them the respect i would want. i don’t know how i feel about this…i mean i make jesus jokes and shit but..wow.

  37. For fucks sake get over yourselves. Anyone with even a basic knowledge of so called religion would know that Jesus himself had an awesome sense of humour! lol

  38. HAHAHA, omg. Nothing like a little blasphemy in the morning. Personally, I think this is damn funny.

It goes a bit far to get it as a tattoo, but hey, awesome sense of humor :P

  39. May God have mercy on his soul when he see’s this.

Or I’m sure if he goes to hell Lucifer will give him a seat right next to him!

And before everyone jumps on me as normal I can see the funny side, even as sick as it is.

  40. Screw meaningful posts. Was considering writing one, but am going to say instead “Woo, anal sex, that vastly underrated pastime.”

  41. haha, man I definitely cast my vote for this being the best tattoo ever! And my two cents on those people getting vastly offended by this, my opinion is that if God is omnipotent and all that, is he really likely to get pissed about ONE LITTLE TATTOO? Chill out and gloat about all us heretics going to Hell while you chill in Paradise eh?

  42. #13, what is with this idea that religion should be immune to criticism? Why should anyone have to respect others’ religious beliefs (aside from respecting their right to believe whatever religious stuff they want)?

So I respect your right to believe in your religion; in fact, I defend it wholeheartedly. But I also think your religion is a bunch of BS. Just like with anything else I think is nonsense, I don’t have to respect your beliefs.

And I think this tattoo is quite funny. I sure as hell would never get such an image put on me though.

  43. I also wish you could tell the real story behind this tattoo Shannon, but I know 100% you respect peoples right to privacy when they post things here.

I do have an idea what it means, and I suspect it has quite a sad tale behind it.

  44. funny as all hell, I blaspheme on a daily basis and some of my co-workers get kinda freaked out by it so I think I might show one of them this today and hopefully not get fired

  45. @81

obviously has a sad tale behind it? what i find most interesting is the fact that you believe there is a sad tale behind it. do you have some sad stories? jesus make em all better?

  46. Christ has died.
    Christ has risen.
Christ will cum again… All over your ass.

  47. haha i like how david compared this to the slaves being set free in the anger it’s caused…a large majority of the anger behind the US civil war was not about the slaves being set free…it was economical. lemme guess…you’re from the south? they sure teach some lame biased history in US schools

  48. Ha ha…this is great….I LOVE this tattoo.
After all….”…The building is a symbol, as is the act of destroying it. Symbols are given power by people. Alone, a symbol is meaningless, but with enough people, blowing up a building can change the world. ” – to quote V.
And go ahead, replace building with “icon” or…christ or buddha or anything really.

  49. #84, rori, perhaps you learned that neo-liberal history of slavery, because the Civil War was about slavery AND economics… slavery was the basis of the entire national economic and social system. And perhaps you only read history from a certain point of view, because for slaves and free blacks, the civil war was most certainly about slavery… though those historical actors aren’t important are they… racism. All history is lame and biased, even the neo-liberal version you believe, because it privileges certain narratives and points of view and marginalized or erases the experiences of poeple such as blacks and slaves.
Anyway, I don’t think David even mentioned the Civil War, and EMANCIPATION definitely made the south and people in the south upset, and people in the north as well… do you think anyone in the nation wanted black people to be able to compete freely with whites, or advocated social equality? Yeah, maybe Garrison, but that’s an exception. Sharecropping and tenancy? Black Codes? Lynching? Disenfranchisement? know anything about that history, rori? yeah…. David’s point is well taken.

  50. 1- I really love this tattoo, it made me laugh.

2- Have a damn sense of humor.

3- I’m so sorry if you’re offended….hahahahha, just kidding, hahahah

4- I’m sure this tattoo had a lot more to do with this persons sense of humor than their mother and their childhood. As I’ve bitched about before, STOP blaming people’s mods on their childhood. Thanks!

  51. Shannon, I guess that now you will need to look at Mohamed’s blasphemous realted tats for balance sake.

I LOVE IT: it is only a tat, nobody got hurt. Remember the Crusades….

  52. I really do find this kind of thing offensive. While I agree that people have the right to have whatever it is they want tattooed on their body, I can’t help but feel this is in bad taste.

  53. I really do find this kind of thing offensive. While I agree that people have the right to have whatever it is they want tattooed on their body, I can’t help but feel this is in bad taste.

  54. Considering how often that phrase pops out of my mouth, I love the tattoo. I didn’t even notice his hands being nailed down until someone pointed it out… it’s the little things that make a piece interesting.

Uh yeah, and re: random bitching
    - Some of us simply find blasphemy funny, it has nothing to do with a bad childhood.
    - Saying the Civil War was about slavery is like saying Darwin’s ‘Origin of Species’ was about survival of the fittest…. of course a lot of people seem to be under that impression too…. I give up.

  55. haha to be honest to do find this funny
i mean every ones entitled to an opinion and i can understand how people would find it disrespectful

but i think this tattoo does rather take the piss out of how stupid the phrase jesus fucking christ is lol
    good tattoo, love the detail

#86, i LOVE the V for vendetta quote lol
    xx

  56. it’s DEFINITELY out there. i’d never get anything like this. i just noticed the stakes in the hands on the bottom jesus.

i could only come up with one response to this.. “jesus. fucking. christ.”

  57. What I love more than this tattoo is the fact that it spurred such an interesting discussion about censorship, religion and beliefs, etc.

  58. 34- Is it just not the same because it offended you?

84- You even said yourself “a large majority of the anger” meaning some of it WAS because of the freeing of the slaves, just not all. Then you go further to imply that he must be from the south, and if that was true, wouldn’t he best know the reasons behind the south’s anger?

  59. has anybody seen the movie Jesus Christ: Serial Rapist? it has the tagline “first he nails you….then he NAILS you!”

  60. This has really set the bench mark, theres no way I can think of a more blasphemous tattoo to get that’s as good as this one.

    But I’ll try.

  61. I think, seriously, that will be blasphemous if a DEMON are fucking Jesus.

Jesus fucking Jesus is like 2way masturbation.

In other point of view, if you love jesus and make one tattoo of Jesus slaying Satan is the same blasphemy, just going on the other way (Affecting Satanists)

BTW, this tattoo make me laugth a lot.

  62. By choice, I am not religious, I do not believe in god. However, I was brought up Catholic. This tattoo, as clever as it is, kind of rubs me the wrong way, possibly because of my upbringing. I admit it is kind of funny, but why would you go out of your way, pay money, take the time to have something permanently put on your body, when you know that it will DEFINITELY have a negative impact on some people around you? I mean, does this tattoo really have meaning to the person who got it done? It just seems like its asking for trouble, is all. THATS what bothers me a lot, purposely trying to piss off some people. Just have some respect for other people’s beliefs

  63. I agree with #50 on this.

I like it, the work’s well done… There’s just something about it that kinda makes me think “ooo not a good idea” but that’s mostly because I have Catholic parents and Christian friends (I, myself, however am agnostic).

  64. 41. This tattoo is only offensive if you think that Jesus being gay is a bad thing, right?

i agree with this statement. because a similar image of anyother men doing this would not cause so much uproar? so what if jesus did like to bang dudes. and besides, i wonder how many people saying this offends them have uttered the statement “jesus fucking christ!”?? i would bet that more than one has.

  65. People comparing this to racist tatts are idiots. Religion is a choice, and thus fair game for ridicule. Skin color isn’t.

  66. I’m a Christian and I think this tattoo is hilarious, and I think (though it probably isn’t intended this way) it is a good commentary on the thoughtlessness of the way people speak.

Jesus Fucking Christ is just linguistically bizarre and I fully support a tattoo making fun of it.

    Plus the art is fantastic.

That said, as much as I enjoy it, I couldn’t “wear” it cuz I think as a Christian I have to be concerned for and respectful of the possiblity that people could reasonably misunderstand its meaning.

  67. i think if this was true to life, Jesus would be the type to give a reach around, FOR SURE.

I wonder if this would turn Ted Haggard back into his natural state.

  68. Heh. Dunno what to think.
Everyone is entitled to put whatever on their body though…Dunno if I’d actually want people to see that though.

  69. Oh my. XD! This is by far the greatest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. If it hadn’t already been done, I would get it tattooed on myself.

I am the furthest thing from a Christian, in fact, I partake in heresy and blasphemy daily, so this just made my day.

Receiver Jesus being nailed and gagged is the best part of it all. Whoever thought of this, I commend you. You are my hero. Marry me?

  70. Being a fanatic atheist, this tattoo is just wicked and totally to my taste. Maybe not as upsetting in sweden as in the states or elsewhere, but nevertheless a tad controversial. Nice work!!!

  71. ah, “Jesus Tap-Dancing Christ” or “Jesus Christ on a Cracker” would have been better…

  72. Please don’t give atheists a bad name. Doing and laughing at sacrilig. things does not make you an atheist, nor does it define one. The more you find this funny, does not make you more of an atheist. Atheists live by their own code of ethics that is not religion-inspired and although we treat religion as bogus and mythological, we don’t go out of our way to be assholes about it. At least, I don’t…

  73. even though this is off topic I’m still posting because I can’t stand ignorant people pushing ignorant points….. to everyone who wrote a comment about the Civil War not being about slavery… my point stands… TO SLAVES AND FREE BLACKS THE CIVIL WAR WAS ABOUT SLAVERY, but history isn’t written from their point of view because History with a capital “H” is based in racist epistemology, and IF YOU ARGUE THAT THE CIVIL WAS WAR ABOUT ECONOMICS WITHOUT ACKNOWLEDGING THAT THE US ECONOMIC SYSTEM WAS BASED ON SLAVERY YOU ARE AN IDIOT, and IF YOU THINK THAT EVERYONE WAS HAPPY ABOUT EMANCIPATION YOU ARE AN IDIOT. Please people, I always hate to resort to this, but I’ver had a little more than neo-liberal high school education on the Civil War, slavery, Black history and historiography… like 4 years of INTENSIVE study. I’m right. Read a book, read a few books, read the right books.

  74. I think what we have been trying to say is that saying the Civil War was specifically about slavery is a bit off. Yes, slavery was one of many factors and played a large role. But I have met people (mostly Southerners) who will tell you that the primary driving force of the Civil War was state rights versus federal rights. History will always have as many interpretations as there are people on this planet. I’m sure a lot of people here have had “a little more than neo-liberal high school education” on a lot of subjects, including U.S. History (myself included).
I’m not trying to change your mind, I know that’s not possible when someone insists on using all caps to make their point. But stop getting your panties in a wad and settle down a bit. I haven’t seen anyone say that slavery wasn’t a factor in the war, the argument seems to be that it wasn’t **the** factor. Wars never have just one cause.

  75. this one is really nicely done, unlike the 9/11 one. i see the merit in posting this, more than i can justify posting the shitty one. if we’re going on quality of work, this one is very nice, and worthy of an entry, imo.

  76. Goddamnit…I *so* wish I had been able to do this tattoo! Fun times! (and props to the artist – nice detail)

Naysayers: Boofuckinghoo for “oppressed” Christians. It’s not like you’ve kicked everybody elses asses, tortured and burned people alive, blasphemed their religions, colonized the world, proselytized, preached, brainwashed, gaybashed, and taken control over everything…oh, wait.

Uh, why the hell are we discussing the Civil War exactly?? Whatever. #90 + #121: Word.

  77. This actually made me gasp out loud. Then I broke into laughter.

I’m not offended by it, I’m just really surprised anyone actually got this tattooed on their body.

The only part that bothers me I think, is that the Jesuses are kinda scary, and blue-eyed. It’s the kind of tattoo where you feel like the eyes are following you.

  78. 119: HAHAHA! Priceless.

This actually shocked me into laughter when I saw it. To be honest though, I didn’t notice the reach around or the ball gag or even his hands nailed down (I only noticed that when it was pointed out :/)
I actually really like this tattoo, the artwork is brilliant and I know myself i’ve said “Jesus fucking christ” most than once.

I hope whoever has it tattooed on them is prepared for the bullshit they’ll encounter because of it.

  79. Christian or not, if you find yourself offended by this tattoo, then you take things too seriously. Lighten up and find a sense of humor.

  80. well smurf, your comment that “Saying the Civil War was about slavery is like saying Darwin’s ‘Origin of Species’ was about survival of the fittest…. of course a lot of people seem to be under that impression too…. I give up.” sure implies that you were saying that the Civil War was not “about slavery” and if you were trying to say that slavery was *a* factor, not **the** factor, then you would have said that the Civil War WAS about slavery in some way. Unless you think that Darwin’s work was, in some way, about survival of the fittest, which would qualify your statement to provide for an * “a” not “the” factor* reading… And the Civil War was “specifically” about slavery. It was specifically about a lot of things. And, like I said, it really depends on whose history History is telling… Saying the Civil War was about slavery is not the same thing as saying it was ONLY about slavery. However, likening the Civil War-slavery discourse to that of Darwin-survival of the fittest IS essentially saying that the Civil War was not about slavery at all.
And CAPS LOCK and twisted panties are the last resorts of the frustrated informed person confronting ignorance. Whatever. All apologies for the ranting, no more Civil War talk, back to Jesus Fucking Christ.

  81. Jess, exactly.

Naive doesn’t even begin to describe people who think Jesus wasn’t fucking the apostles.

And honestly, if it’s sex with himself, how could it be nonconsentual?

And what’s wrong if it was done (and I doubt it was) for the sole purpose of pissing people off? Strong emotions, like anger, get people to think. We need to push people outside their comfort zones to get them to question what they’re really doing and get them to understand other arguments and gradually change.

  83. #79 I never in any way, shape or form have said that religion should be free from criticism. In fact, to me, it was my criticism that brought me to my beliefs. I welcome it. It is not criticism that bothers me, but rather a mockery. I respect your opinion and your right. You only respect my right. That is fine. We are two different people.

It is my opinion (and mine only, not to be forced upon anyone else) that if we respect one another we ourselves will gain respect. I’m not saying this is your goal, but it is mine.

I am not without humor regarding my own religion. In fact I found “Holy Shit” with Jesus on the toilet to be quite funny. The image of Jesus is so skewed to what he probably looked like that it honestly doesn’t phase me. This I find to be a bit over the edge with the crown of thorns and nails, both symbolic in the Christian religion.

  84. hahah i love that someone compared this tattoo to womens rights and slavery calm down yall its a tattoo

  85. It is for some. I’ve always found it weird that Jesus is Caucasian with brown hair.

I’m just saying, for me it was the nails and crown of thorns.

  86. I love the fact i sparked a civil war history lesson. Even though i didnt mention it or nor did it have anything to do with my point. but thanks for the support copper_wire.

  87. i mean, jesus DID say do unto others as they would do unto you. if i was fucking myself in the ass, i would give myself the reach-around.

and #83, you made me laugh a bunch.

  88. Yep I thnk this is funny, took it all in before I even read comments. It is awesome work in and of itself. Unusual theme and I swear I will never be able to utter those words again without this image in my mind. So no doubt when I utter it I will burst out laughing. Another thought that crossed my mind as I looked at it was Holy Fucking Bible from Clerks 2.
Yes I’m going to hell but I have been on that road for a long time now so no real worries on that.

  89. Really, it’s just a tattoo. Nobody HAS to look at it if you don’t like it =D
    And let’s quote Dogma:
“Especially sex. God, have you seen the faces you make?”
“Sex is a joke to God?”

=D I think it’s a great idea. In concept not EXTREMELY original, but the details make it amazing =D

  90. any man that I would choose to worship would have a sense of humor and humility that allowed him to laugh at this. I’ve chosen my religion as myself, my action, and my honor. i feel disappointed when religious propaganda is esteemed as fact.

  91. Hmm, reading through more of the comments, I’m not so upset by the tattoo anymore.. I just think that people should show a little more respect to other.

I dunno. I’m not bitching or anything, I just don’t agree with this tattoo. It’s well done, the artist was talented, and it has humorous aspects. I just don’t agree with getting it tattooed on you. Each to their own I suppose.

  92. Personally, I often use the term “jesustittyfuckingchrist”.
The visual implication of THAT boggles the mind…

  93. #134: If I want to believe that babies come from storks, or that the sun revolves around the moon, why would you have to respect my opinions? You’d think I was full of nonsense; that although I have the right to be crazy and wrong, there’s nothing in my opinion that you should find respectable.

I don’t think religion should be immune to this sort of analysis. I think Christianity (just for example) is seriously flawed and full of nonsense down to the core. I don’t respect your opinion that it’s not. And you shouldn’t respect mine that it is.

All this said, I do respect your right to your religious opinion, 100%. Respecting one’s right to one’s own opinion is a very different thing from actually respecting an opinion.

  94. Horatio, well said. I see your point. Duly noted.

Ah, I love it when someone can debate with me without lame cut downs :)

  95. I am pleasently suprised at how civilized this thread has been. Bravo people.

    Bravo

  96. 149 – Good point about the difference between respecting opinions and respecting the right to an opinion… Here I must quote Voltaire:
“Sir, my opinion is that you are an arsehole, but I shall defend your right to be an arsehole to the death!”

Because in fact, who says you can’t make fun of religion? Because someone is sensitive about something, why can’t we mention it and perhaps poke fun at it? In my life, I’ve suffered bullying, physical harm, and sexual abuse. Does this mean that I ask everyone I know to never, ever mention any one of those things or discuss them, because I can’t deal with them or haven’t dealt with them in the past?

Life is about dealing with things, not withdrawing into a shell every time something or someone hurts you. If you don’t confront your fears, they will consume you whole. The same goes with doubts. If no-one questions your beliefs, how can you test how deep and solid they are?

On top of all this, who knows that the wearer of this tattoo got it to be offensive? We don’t know anything of their motivation, but to me it seems to be first and foremost an appreciation of the absurdity of language, and an expression of the freedom to exploit one’s own sense of humour.

Plus it’s a really nice piece of work, technically speaking…

  97. Esmerelda, I believe a closer representation of Voltaire’s quote would be, “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it”

  98. This is one of the most hilarious things I’ve ever seen. And as I was sitting here, reading through everyone’s responses, the Jehovah’s Witnesses came to my door with pamphlets about “temptation on the internet” Perfect timing!

  99. I can see how people would be offended. I’m vegan, we are known for being uppity and easily-offended assholes, if I saw a tattoo that somehow mocked veganism in a similar way such as this… I wouldn’t care, and would probably laugh. But RELIGION is more than a dietary preference, it’s your whole system of beliefs, if Jesus was my religious icon of choice and I saw this tattoo…

I wouldn’t care, and would probably laugh, because it’s fucking AWESOME AND HILARIOUS! I want one now. omg.

  100. One. this is not criticism of the religion but rather a depiction of Jesus’ “name” with a lovely little pop-culture infix.

Two. It is not deep, meaningful, or even horribly creative in anyway… its a joke. One that is no more blasphemous then all those lovely paintings showing a pasty skinned white boy as Jesus. I hate to think that my Grandmother is going to hell for owning/praying one.

Put one and two together, get off your soap box and STFU. Believe in anything you want, but please think critically about it. Religion doesn’t give you the right to act like a moron…

  101. “41. This tattoo is only offensive if you think that Jesus being gay is a bad thing, right? ”

    haha
    beautiful.
    people, lighten up….

everyday non-believers, athiests, agnostics, satanists… etc are ridiculed, and have religion pushed in thier faces one way or another…. just for not believeing.
    mostly treated like a disease…

    but fuck. get over it.

i think this tattoo is awesome, and no i dont believe im going to “hell” (or rather the idea of it)
    for voicing my opinion.

  102. fantastic! the reach around, the ball gag. i like how the one getting fucked has his hands nailed to the floor. thank God for bme

  103. i think it’s funny that so many people here believe in Hell……grow up! I love Larry Brogan, and this is why. I only read the first 50 comments…….but this is nothing like a racist tattoo. Hating someone because of the way they are born isn’t nice, but hating someone because they chose to allow themselves to be brainwashed is fine with me……

I grew up around religion, and I realized as a kid how full of shit it all was……THANK GOD!!…..haha

  104. I wasn’t going to post a comment here, ’cause I knew ther would be tons… but driving around just now I saw a bumper sticker that read ‘Real Men Love Jesus’, and the first thing that popped into my head was this tattoo. hehe.

  105. Even though I love this tattoo…..it would be even better is the bottom Jesus was squirting……cause it would be so special to witness JC at the point of climax……

    amen…..

  106. Oh man, I hate you, Max Brand.

I just came here to comment saying the same thing. Thief D:

  107. You know those myspace chain bulletins that are like, “respost this if you love Jesus.”

Well I just always send this picture to whoever posted it in the first place now. Needless to say, they don’t like it as much as I do. :)

  108. I for one, must admit that I absolutely adore this tattoo. The detail is amazing, right down to the facial expressions and ball gag , I would like to see this one entered into a tattoo convention contest :)

  109. I don´t believe in God, but I must say it´s awesome, disrespectful and blasphemous.

Great visual pun, and only incidentally referencing religion.

Besides, as 111 commented – being black, for example, doesn’t define who you are as a person. Religion is fair game, since you implicitly believe in core tenets of whichever religion it is. To think those beliefs are ridiculous – as 149 put very well – is totally fair game.

Basing your beliefs around a religion is so damned unimaginative, anyhow!

  110. Just want to say that there is a God in heaven – “In the beginning God….” Genesis 1:1 and He says, : “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.” Genesis 20:7 and He says, “So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.” Romans 14:12 and “Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ?…Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father,” 1 John 2:22-23 I would not want to be you since you posted this blasphemy and have to answer for it.

  111. I’m a Christian, and I make it a point to respect other’s beleifs … but this kinda makes me wonder if BME is a safe place for people who hold Christian beliefs. I’m just surprised that it would be in the modblog when BME/IAM has such a high regard for respect and non-discrimination.
    Slightly disapointed.

  112. TO ALL CHRISTIANS that think that this is disrespectful, wrong, etc., etc.: DISRESPECTFUL was what Christianism did to humanity submerging us in so many centuries of darkness. Tell me ONE thing your religion really made for us? The world is the same shit as 2000 years ago, just with more technology our days. Go @$&#% your own hipocritic arse holes and think about you just said.

  113. OK first of all i love how a tattoo of jesus fucking christ turned into civil war and slavery. hilarious, people are funny.

second of all. what do you think would happen if a christian posted a comment bout how bad it was and then everyone agreed and took back the things they said.

i think the world would explode.

  114. #34– the only reason it “isn’t the same” as the racist tattoos is because it’s offending YOU! I like it. I think it’s funny.

  115. it is sad that people find the slightest bit of humor in this. Jesus was in fact a great man and loves us all. He was perfect and to do something to put the image of jesus doing something so wrong is just stupid. This is ignorant and very offensive.

  116. “Jesus was in fact a great man and loves us all”
It looks like he loves HIMSELF a LOT too! :)

  117. the absolute funniest tattoo i have ever seen in my life
i thought it was so funny i showed everyone that stoped by including my extreamly dutch christian buddy all in all he didnt talk to me for a week lol best damn tattoo ever

  118. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHHAHAAAxD!

I laughed my ass totally off when i founded that pic:D!

Hmmm…perhaps i should take that tattoo too, and then go to church and show that to those weak minded fools…hehee!

  119. The only one getting fucked in the ass here is whoever paid for this elaborate tattoo. Can you imagine how much it must’ve cost.

And no reach around, just a bill thank you very much.

  120. To Mister 180– the Jesuits and the Quakers have done a lot of good, not the least of which was spearheading the Abolitionist movement in England in the late 1700s/early 1800s.

    I’m just saying.

  121. It seems that Jesus loves himself a little more than i expected. How interesting.

    Threesome with Jesus? Anyone?

  122. I agree with Amelia (#13). We Christians try to learn something about others’ beliefs, but there is nothing about this particular belief that we can respect.

  123. ROLF! Fucking awesome! The guy who maded this tattoo is genius!

Now we need “Jesus fucking God with Holy Spirit involved” threesome tattoo. That would be AWESOME!

  124. Now we need “Jesus fucking God with Holy Spirit involved” threesome tattoo. That would be awesome!

  125. ok i love tattoo’s and peircings but thats just not kewl im a christian and i never judge or make fun of others for there beliefs so i think we deserve the same respect i think this person needs to grow up a bit and have a bit more respect for other people!

  126. The picture itself is pretty funny, but I honestly think permenently getting that inked into your skin is going a bit far…

  127. Interestno tot kto eto urodstvo sdelal, ubliodok etot, on esho ne nakazan, pidar,ja by jego licno rakom postavil cto by jego kto nibud jebal i foto po vsemu inetu, pustil by,!Kto duha svetogo hulit tomu proshenuja ne budet!!!

  128. A lot of people are saying that they’re going to hell for this/laughing at it or whatever. The good news is that heaven isn’t something you can earn, and you can’t do anything so bad as to be kept out. Yeah, I’m a Christian, but it’s important to know that heaven is for believers regardless of their past. This guy could be in heaven if he’s a believer. In the back of your mind, do you really believe in hell? do you want to be there if it exists? what about heaven? It’s worth thinking about

  129. WTF ok im a christian and i would never ever disrespect someones beliefs so bad as to do something like this to them.
and why is everyone talking about the civil war, ITS COMPLETELY FUCKING IRRELEVANT! im with #13 on this, its just a sign of our times that people even find this funny, they really should’nt because whether you believe he was the son of God or not, Jesus was a kind and humble man who was killed, no one makes fun of Martin Luther King do they?
And saying things like, ‘fuck religion its a shitty lie’, or , ‘Jesus sucks balls’, etc is like going to a Black Panther forum and posting, ‘Niggers are all motherfuckers’, because its just not nice, im not comparing skin colour with religion, im saying that its their beliefs your bashing and if we all respected eachothers beliefs maybe there wouldnt be so many screwed up people in the world today.

  130. I’m not religious but I could see how this picture would offend… if my religious friends did see this though…. i think they would probably poop their pants- or yell at me for showing it to them

  131. I sure hope that Christ douched his hole first so that Jesus doesn’t get stinky on his winky.

  132. Bwhahahahahaha Funniest thing i’ve ever seen! All you holy roller pricks that are acting like you’re better than everyone else, fuckin lighten up. Besides, it’s just some phony baloney religion made up centuries ago to scare the public straight. Now days Christianity is simply used to make those week minded sheep feel better about themselves on a day to day basis.

  133. I usually don’t normally post on many Blogs, still I just has to say thank you… keep up the amazing work. Ok unfortunately its time to get to school.

  134. Idiocy deserves no respect. You can stop believing in fairy tales that divide humanity against itself whenever you desire. Don’t take things so personally.

This made me laugh my ass off, and I am proud to live in times where this can exist without the artist being tortured to death…

  135. This kinda thing seems about right for someone who is his own father. Hmmmm maybe he is real and isn’t just some loonytoons fantasy. You know, I bet he just just invented a time machine and had all kinds of wacky adventures!

  136. LOL! Yes, I would TOTALLY get this as a tattoo. I’ve had christians shoving religon down my throat long as i can remember (I’m pagan). I would walk proudly into a church sporting this tattoo. I have so many gay friends that would appreciate it as well. I think it’s a beautiful concept and awesome work

  137. Hmm, remember this from last time. But looking at it now, what about the legs? Is it a reach around, is it a 3rd cock? Doesn’t look quite right down there.
