Hello Kitty Batman!

By Shannon • Jul 15th, 2007 • Category: ModBlog

With great big hair and “Terri Turmoil” in gore lettering (tattoo by Inked Inc. in University Park, PA). You know, the first thing I thought when I saw this is “wow are your grandkids going to think you’re the coolest-slash-funniest granny ever one day!” It’s stuff like this that I’m guessing makes old age fun.

  1. She’s hot!

  2. Hot as hell! :D:D

  3. for real. she’s so hot! :( love those breast too

  4. soooo myspace….

  5. =^_^= hia!

  6. mmmmmmm

  7. seriously. most beautifull girl to ever be featured on modblog.

  8. Trashy.

  9. Look at that hair! Haha, it’s so big. :D

    She’s cute too

  10. maybe i’m the only one a bit disgusted at the fact that “terri turmoil” is probably her myspace name or maybe i’m an ass? that’s a possibility, too.

  11. good luck on being terri turmoil forever, you’re gonna need it.

  12. good lord, not another myspace emo wanna-be celeb. wretched.

  13. I realize that there’s not a lot that can be done online about idiots like “miss_b” or “KC”, short of aggressive banning/moderation which I don’t like to do — but I’m going with the assumption that people who read ModBlog are probably modified or otherwise “different” in one way or another that others don’t understand and have at times been insulted or otherwise hassled about it.

Why the need to make completely pointless attacks on someone because you’re not into their look/fashion/motivations/whatever? Does it make you feel good when other people that to you? Do you feel that you’ve contributed to the discussion meaningfully? Why continue the vicious cycle? If anything is trashy or wretched, it’s people who think it’s OK to behave like this just because it’s online.

And it’s sad to see people so joyless and empty inside that they actually get something out of making posts like that.

  14. ALL around HOTNESS!

  15. To be fair, Shannon, her myspace page does in fact pretty aggressively prod people into making comments about her and “talking shit”. It appears to be one of her tactics for garnering fame, or at least attention.

“Keep talking shit and speculating over me, you’re making me famous” and that’s the first thing you read on her page.

So it’s not as if this is a shy, introverted person who’s been accidentally tossed in front an oncoming train of nasty comments… she seems to be pretty hell-bent on making herself famous through whatever means necessary, including negative attention.

Regardless of that, when you actively court the spotlight you damn well better be ready to take the bad with the good IMO, particularly when you’re courting fame just to be famous, as appears to be the case here, rather than achieving it through actual talent.

just my opinion, worth what you paid.

  16. Is that a wig? If it isn’t, I want to know how the hell she got her hair so big!

I’m not a big fan of hello-kitty, but it’s cool. It’s really cute and surely her grandkids will think she is awesome… :)

  17. I LOVE it!! Her eyes are just gorgeous!

  18. “Grandma”
    “Yes dear”
“Who’s Terri Turmoil? Was it some mister you dated?”

lol i think having grandkids and being modded is gonna be awesome

  19. ‘Scuse me Shannon? I was expressing an opinon. Just because it did not fit with others expressed in the comments doesn’t mean I’m an idiot. It also doesn’t mean that I get sick kicks out of insulting others. I apologize if you saw my remark as snarky or uncalled for, so let me put it in a more “modblog correct” way.

While I do respect her right to get whatever tattoo she wants, I do not find them appealing, and personally think they are trashy. Without passing judgement on her character I have to respectfully express my disgust at her choices in body art.

  20. oh yeah, getting your myspace name tattooed on you is REAL cool.. if i’m not mistaken, i think she got this tattoo covered up already.

  21. okay, so i might be wrong about the tattoo.. but that just makes it worse. i could go on and on about why this kind of person irritates me, but i don’t think it’d be a modblog-approved kind of comment.

  22. Hasn’t she already had that tattoo covered up? I’ve had this discussion with another mod community that I’m part of, and that was the conclusion if I remember correctly…

  23. It’s not about being “modblog correct”, and it’s not as if the comments are being deleted or anything, and the fact that she’s ok with (and maybe even enjoys) people talking smack on her is irrelevant in my opinion. The fact that it seems unusual/unfair/whatever that I think that there’s a problem with the larger trend of people going out of their way to explain what they DON’T like about the world is a symptom of a sick culture in decline.

People should obsess over love, and obsess over the positive parts of life and the things about other people that they enjoy. When you do the opposite, it permeates your life in a very negative way in my opinion. Of course a person has the right to “express their disgust”, but ask yourself — do you really want to be a person that’s filled with disgust and needs to express it?

Maybe my mother smoked too much pot when I was in the womb and made me a love-in hippie because of it, but I just don’t see what’s to be gained from negativity in general.

  24. Shannon - The moment you tolerate the negative aspects of society and refuse to speak out against them then you pave the way for further decline that you speak of.

Simply smiling above the clouds is no longer an option, the world is a shitty place made worse by a general decline in intelligence amongst humanity. Whistling your way through it achieves nothing.

“The ignorant must have it made known to them lest they die the way they live.”

  25. You know whay her hair is so big? It’s full of Secrets. :P

  26. OMG! It’s Elvira! Did anybody else make that connection?

  27. Seriously, she’s pretty gross looking. I’m disappointed Shannon, normally you pick such pretty girls.

  28. “You know whay her hair is so big? It’s full of Secrets. :P”

that made me LOL a lot. hahahah.

  29. I don’t give a shit if she’s from Mars. I like Hello Kitty.

  30. “People should obsess over love, and obsess over the positive parts of life and the things about other people that they enjoy.”

Thats making the gross generalization about me personally. Just because a picture provoked me to make a negative comment does not mean that I ONLY ever have something negative to say, or that I only obsess over negative or harmful things. I’m just as quick to express my appreciation of things I find beautiful, like my horse galloping in his pasture, or the sunset I shared with my wonderful boyfriend the other night. And I’m sure that other people feel the same.

I’m also amused that you preach the abandonment of negativity, since you are the one who called me an “idiot” and basically implied that I’m “empty inside.” Thanks, really.

  31. eh… I’m not into the myspace hair and the myspace name tattooed on her.

  32. LOLOL!

  33. maybe its the dyke in me, but i crossed my legs as soon as i saw those inch-long nails.

i love symmetrically slanted chest pieces, though.

  34. I will agree, people need to be more positive. (But pesimists will be themselves…) Look at it this way, does pointing out that you feel she looks trashy or that her choice of modifications look trashy benifit either you or her in anyway? She obviously got them because she wanted them, what’s with the need to be so negative about something someone wanted? Live and let live goddammit.

  35. To get her hair that big, it’s like rollered set? Teased, back combed, and aqua net??

In any case, anyone’s hair that big would be super damaged thus making it easier to get big

  36. Giles Wallwork - The “negative” parts of society are things like war and abuse. They’re not dress code and fashion.

KC - Sorry for calling you an idiot. Not sorry for saying that negativity is idiotic and makes people empty inside, and saying that the positive is what the focus of life should be.

  37. I don’t find her particularly attractive (mainly the eyebrows), nor do I really like her tattoo, but I am jealous of her breasts, like the size… ah well.. also I always wonder if that’s unhealthy for hair, like the ends on big hair like this always just look so frazzled. *shrugs*

  38. What I like is that she’s obviously having fun with her body and using it to express/communicate an identity. I like that…

  39. eh…

  40. Shannon; I admire your positive outlook. Even though I don’t agree with being 100% positive all the time, kudos to you.

Lizzard; “does pointing out that you feel she looks trashy or that her choice of modifications look trashy benifit either you or her in anyway?” No, but I don’t make comments on boards like these in an attempt to benefit myself or others. Just to add my 2c, which is (I’m assuming) why you can comment on modblog entries in the first place.

  41. jokes-she is ok looking and good on her for doing her own thing, but the tattoo is lame and will be covered up. People do change over the years and @ 19 some have more to learn than others. Once again, I’d hit dat.

  42. She has very cool acrylics, I’m not a massive fan of fake nails, but hers are dippy and fun, I like that.

There seems to be alot of fuss about whether her tattoos are trashy, so I thought I’d add my penny’s worth: The script is not to my taste, but I like the hello kitty chestpiece, and I understand the aesthetic she’s achieving, Kudos to her for having the nads to court such contention, especially from a social group so intent on categorising every inch of everything.
Is it because we of the modded persuasion are ‘outside of the rest of society’ that we feel the need to clique up into our own specific mod tastes?
This isn’t a ‘cant we all get along’ rant, I just don’t get why there’s such impetus to put us all in boxes. Her mods dont appeal to you? Fine, why feel the need to set her apart from yourself?
My guess is if you’re reading this you’re modded, surely someone has given you grief for your mods in the past, you know how sore that can be, so why pass it on to this girl, regardless of what she says she wants you to do? Common courtesy?
Cheers for reading my wee essay…

  43. Oh, and I reckon her hair is mostly a weave or a hair piece, with her hair layered over the top of it, hence the awesome volume…

  44. Oh yeah… she’s a winner….

from one of her other “I’m such a huge fan of ME” type websites…

    “I Hate:
    perverts, ugly and fat people”

Poor ugly and fat people! What a loss it is to be hated by Terri Turmoil, the 19 year old…. the 19 year old… uhm, apparently just the 19 year old.

  45. I’d like to point out that her eyes are “gorgeous” because they’re intensely photoshopped, along with what I suspect is most of her face. So, eh. Just putting that out there.

  46. Her hair is most definately fake, her myspazz photos clearly show it. I really like the hello kitty HEAD, the wings are kinda crappy and so are the lettes but whatever, she’s got nice boobs =]

  47. i love myspace.

  48. scene takes over modblog :(

  49. Yee haw myspace.

  50. I love hello kitty. It’s neat and she has nice boobs :)

  51. Those eyes can’t be natural…

  52. How cute.
More emo kids getting more emo names tattooed in visible places.
Ugh. What is the world coming to.

  53. Sheesh, people need to have a sense of humor about life… You only get to do it once — it should be both fun and funny!

  54. she looks so sad in this pic :( i don’t like myspace n00dz. they are so common, and younger girls are putting them up. your body is not your only commodity (brain, personality…those things?).

And while this is modblog, and i’m supportive of people doing what they want with their body, I think what is turning people way OFF to her, even though her mods aren’t way out there, is that lots of people (myself included) feel that these mods were done just for attention, to fit into a certain group, rather than to please the owner of said mods. I think lots of people on this board find their mods to be more important, personal, and meaningful than myspace and “scene” stereotypes.

but maybe myspace is very meaningful to this individual.
    and there is my essay.

  55. Well, I think she’s FABULOUS. Great hair, great tits, great nails, awesome contacts and a name and tattoo that suit the overall look. As a former drag-queen, I covet her look, it’s heaven.
And quite frankly, who gives a fuck if she’s a vain and judgemental cow? Who cares if she loves myspace? Who cares if she hates the fat, the ugly and the ‘perverted’?
She’s 19 after all, and a lot of us were little pricks at that age, give her a fucking chance. She’ll grow out of it eventually, and at least she’ll have some cool pics to look back on as mementos of her hedonistic youth.

  56. Asian Elvira with a sweet tattoo, tottally makes me want to go watch a bad B-movie right now haha

  57. Myspace whores are modblog worthy?

  58. yayyy for myspace whores with TERRIBLE tattoos. jessica i agree with you. i miss the hot and sexy tattooed, MODIFIED girls on MODBLOG.

  59. I think she’s really pretty, to bad I’m probably ugly and fat by her standards.

  60. Thank you Shannon. More people should be love-in hippies with a positive outlook.
It would help get rid of those negative things.

  61. Ugh, myspace invades Modblog. What happened to the pretty girls with the well done tattoos…

  62. oh no! someone doesnt like her tattoos!? how terrible…

I dont like the tattoo (quality / content) and I dont find the girl particularly attractive but im not going out of my way to tell her.

I’m sure you LOVE it when people insult you over tattoo / piercing work; some random yelling shit at you while you walk down the road?

  63. I always wander what would happen to people like this if they were in some sort of disfigurung accident. Shannon I find your opinion that negative comments are a waste of time kind of odd.

  64. She has tattooes and she has piercings; she is modified. I don’t see why she shouldn’t be featured in modblog. It makes perfect sense

  65. I’m digging the hello kitty. Sure, she might be scene. Sure, she might have ginormous hair. Sure, she’s tattooed her myspace name on her chest. But what of it? It’s how she wants to express herself. Her body = her temple.

The fact that she hates on ugly and fat people sucks hard though. I probably shouldn’t stand up for her, because last time I checked I was…let’s call it curvy to make me feel better, ok?

  66. Her overall appearance is quite pleasant however her attitude stinks and as such she should be made aware that it is not one that sits comfortably with a lot of people.

  67. Haha, cute Hello Kitty. Amazing hair! And those contacts are so…uh, eyecatching.

Shannon–truly amazing how you constantly see the positive and lighter side of things. Really.

  68. This picture really isn’t very different at all from the other ones of women on modblog with a smaller tattoo or two and a healthy dollop of nudity. Not every woman is going to cater to everyone’s taste. Seems like the people who are in a twitch about this is because she’s an aspiring “myspace-whore” and makes negative insulting statements on her pages.
So what? If you don’t like her, don’t communicate with her. If you do like her, then knock yourself out.

  69. i think its a great photo for modblog… it’s eye catching, and while it screams scene/myspace/whatever, it still caught peoples’ eyes.

  70. [...] to kittyfan3 (via ModBlog with her personal site at Terri Turmoil MySpace - warning, turn your sound off unless you want to [...]

  71. I really can’t believe that people become so intensely nasty over someone’s picture…I mean I can practically hear the venom in people’s voices. I believe people are entitled to their opionion, but seriously there is a mature way to put it across without being vicious or rude.

And Kelli, I realise that her eyes almost certainly photoshopped but that doesn’t change my opinion that they look gorgeous, so I really don’t think that there was any need to become snarky about it.

  72. I don’t see the problem in getting your MySpace name tattooed on you. Tons of people in this community have their IAM names tattooed on them and no one blinks an eye. Stop hatin’ people.

  73. Compare and contrast this with “Niggers stink”. Her hatred is as unwelcome as that particular persons even if her tattoo doesn’t proclaim it to the world.

Is it ok to “hate fat and ugly people” as long as your tattoo doesn’t portray it?

Is the fact that she is aesthetically pleasant on the eye a good enough reason to overlook her hatred?

Personally I think her immature hatred of certain people is as wrong as anyone elses but a certain level of forgiveness is awarded due to her being ‘eye-candy’ for the MySpace generation who seem to forgive all if outward appearances please them.

Plus “niggers stink” was technically a better tattoo.

  74. I love how she states she’s a feminist, on her myspace page, then she goes ahead and takes almost naked pictures of herself and puts them all over the internet.

  75. Ashley - Nudity and feminism have a long history.

  76. vava voom. i think everything worked out pretty well here. everyone got what they wanted.

  77. Getting your myspace name, when basically no one will have a clue who the hell you are in 5 years, is basically a dumb idea.

    That is all.

  78. LOL… yeah Ashley, being a feminist means you’re never allowed to think of yourself or your body as pretty or attractive, and by NO mean does it EVER mean displaying your beauty to others, never under any circumstances! It’s the height of repression by the evil, dominating male race for a woman to think herself pretty enough to let others see her naked! Horrible, evil men!

Since when does displaying yourself naked, of your own volition and desire, necessarily mean you can’t be a feminist?

Looks like maybe it’s time for a little education? Just maybe…

  79. Ashley–by saying she’s a feminist means that she wants to be treated equally as guys. Meaning: okay, she took a sort of nude picture of herself and posted in on the internet…and doesn’t want to be called a slut or whore because of it, as most people would not react that way if a guy did a similar thing.

  80. Giles… gotta give you credit for hitting the nail directly on the head again, spot-on observations sir.

She’s cute, so her “me me me” scene-style is suddenly defensible and even part of her “cute factor”. Apparently it’s ok to be a complete attention whore… as long as what you’re saying is mostly vacuous nonsense and you’re “hot” while you do it.

    Blech.

  81. Just thought I’d point out that the shop is named Ink Inc., and it is in State College, PA - NOT University Park. University Park is simply just the name of the Penn State campus here. State College is the actual town.

  82. She’d be good for a few fucks… That’s about it.

  83. I’m surprised at how much trouble this post has caused.
    Myspace, feminism, wigs, and hippies!

While I don’t necessarily agree with negative comments, I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion, positive OR negative.

I also think we should ALL calm down a little bit. Maybe take things a little less seriously?

  84. hahah @ RICK.

Shannon, I am not impressed :[

  85. Ill be the first to admit that her aesthetic isnt to my personal tastes, and after my initial mental reaction to this picture something else sunk in - something way more important. Its basically all there is in life, you’d think other people with mods would understand it.

“If it makes her happy, and it doesn’t hurt anyone else..”

Live and let live guys, maybe if you see mods you cant relate to personally - look at it another way. Think of how happy your own tattoos or outward appearance makes you. Apply that to her. Or even assume that they make her miserable, but regardless of what conclusions you draw you should respect her rights to project or embody any image she wants.

  86. try honesty, I don’t think anyone is questioning her “rights” it’s her taste and motivation that’s being questioned. She’s 110% scene, and I very much doubt her appearance is achieved in relation to her own sense of self, much more likely it’s achieved in relation to her sense of other people’s perception of her. This is a prime candidate for “what was I thinking” in 10 or 15 years. She’s not a “modified person” IMO, she’s a SCENE person who happens to have modifications in furtherance of her scene. Blech. Still.

  87. she looks awesome..
    neck-down.

  88. This is exactly the kind of attention she wants… people arguing over her. Keep pushing up her ego guys. Shallow people who discriminate against the “fat” and “ugly”, are the ugliest ones of all, and deserve no attention at all from you decent people. Let her die out quietly.

  89. The comparison with getting comments from strangers in the street and people commenting on here doesn’t really work. You can’t compare walking down a street, or doing your shopping, and having people invade your privacy to make a comment with posting a picture of yourself basically naked on websites with comment facilities. Walking down a street, you’re just getting on with your life. Posting the pictures, you’re inviting people to comment on you, and if you’re going to do that, you have to take the bad with the good.

  90. BloodDoll, we totally agree. If you don’t want people to comment on your appearance, don’t post pictures of yourself on the internet where the entire civilized world can see them. Period.

And that applies to modblog as well: If a pic is posted here, people WILL add their opinions both good AND bad. Otherwise what’s the purpose of these comment areas? I think it’s pretty backwards to peruse a forum designed to encourage commentary and post about how people shouldn’t make negative comments. If you feel a certain way and want to express it why shouldn’t you, that’s what the comment area is HERE for. And if you don’t like how someone else feels, fine, post an intelligent rebuttal. But don’t just come with “People shouldn’t say negative stuff, everyone can do what they want with their bodies.”

Yep, they can. And if they post their pictures of it on the internet they should damn well be prepared to hear some criticism, and if they’re not they shouldn’t post the pic in the first place. I’m going in circles now! LOL

  91. love her contacts…

  92. I usually agree with Shannon but not this time. This myspazz whore isnt worthy of modblog.

  93. I really don’t like this picture. She’s trying too hard to look sexy and failing miserably. She just looks…empty… I’d rather see a pretty girl smiling, or laughing, instead of that vacant porn star stare, and forced pose.

  94. LOL #25 loves it.

  95. woah, am I the only one who thinks it’s weird that people reacted much more to a picture of a cute asian 19yo with a small tattoo and big hair, than to the guy who sewn his penis in his scrotum just below?

and did it occure to ANYONE that maybe, just maybe, she was known as Terri Turmoil before she went to myspace, and that it’s her nickname in her everyday life?

anyways, I like that picture! the hair’s too big for me but that’s just my opinion.

  96. Ok, Umm, Yea, she teases her hair to get it that big, and she still has that tattoo. Its not a wig, or anything else weird. Lol. Just figured Id clear things up. I know cuz she lives with me.

  97. oh, and her eyes arent photoshopped, they are contacts.

  98. …My cat’s name is Mittens.

  99. she is pretty, but she seems to have tattooed herself with all of the “scene kid” trends of the moment: bats, gorey names, aliteration, blood drip font, hello kitty… it looks cute, but i hope she doesn’t regret it 5 years from now when thse things aren’t trendy and cool anymore, nevermind old age.

  100. People probably wouldn’t be getting their knickers in such a twist if there wasn’t a link to her myspace.

I’ve seen much worse tattoos done for much worse reasons.

  101. yeah…this is her myspace name. wtf? i guess myspace is life for some people. but seriously…who would want to be 45 with a tattoo like that??

  102. Fuck you myspace bastards and ur fucking loud music!!!!!!!! Who are you impressing with ur crappy theres-no-off-button music?

  103. I wonder what people will think when they see a 60 year-old lady with “Terri Turmoil” tattooed into her chest.
It looks nice now, but in about 30 years? Not so much.

  104. Honestly, I dont see why people have so much hatred towards getting weird tattoos. Everyone says “Ohh, how will she feel 5 years from now”. Who cares? I bet she will probably be just as indifferent about it as she is now about it. Once you have something on your body for a while, you start to forget it is even there. I mean, you can see it, but your opinion doesnt really matter one way or the other about whether its there or not. I mean, think of ALLLLL of the people with arm tattoos and sleeves and stuff. They probably dont think about them all the time. It is a statement to show everyone else something about you, not something that you want to glorify and obsess over for yourself. If you got a cross on your arm for religious reasons, sure, it would be meaningful to you. But isnt another reason that most people get it to show everyone else “Hey, Im a christian and im not afraid to show it”. Same thing, just different principle.

  105. I wonder if she knows how much that looks like The Independents “kitty wings” logo… google it, those guys rocked the house when they played here last year :)

  106. damn. this is taking the whole scene kid shit way too far.

  107. OhMyGod She Is SO Fxcking Georgous
And Anyone That Thinks Shes Trashy Or Whatever Can Go Die Because She Looks Amazing.

  108. its in a cool spot it will look shity when ur old but who cares really ur old ur pronbally gunna be ugly anyways basically i think its cool i wouldn’t get that but i like it that shape of the tattoo fits where its placed on the body(not trying to be like oh look at her big tits or anything)

  109. i live up the street from that place…!

  110. ……..yeah
