Charles Manson Tattoo

So to “celebrate” the new Charles Manson album being released free, here’s a recent HELTER SKELTER tattoo by Joey Saindon at Mantra Tattoos in Frederickton, New Brunswick… I’m going to go watch Survivor now, but I have some great stuff to post in the morning.

  1. there is no reason to validate Charles Manson….
the only clear victory is the crazy peice of shit will never see another day in the free world, and will die a well kept crazy ass motherfucker.
Personally…I’d take great pleasure in sending the fucker straight to hell with a slow tortured means to his demise, while cursing him and asking for his death to be prolonged as long as possible

  2. #3: you know, I agree with you, except for that last sentence which makes you sound like part of the problem.

  3. I must say i like this tattoo. Ive been studying serial killers for many years and Charles Manson has to be the most interesting. and #3 if you know anything about his case you know that there is the possibility of parole. Im not saying he will ever get out but he does have parole hearings and has been paroled in the past. Yes he is a “crazy” man but he never killed anyone himself. He was a cult leader not murderer. I am not defending him because i think he should be paroled. I do not want him paroled because he is a violent and evil man.

  4. Aww I actually like this, yes I know Charles Manson is a horrible monster who should die in hell blah blah blah, but regardless of what others think I’m digging this tattoo.
    -Sarah

  5. i have the album.
tough listen, unlike LIE which was pretty on par with all the folky shit of his time.
as for the fervor for his demise, i don’t get it.
he has killed 19 fewer people than sammy gravano, and has done a whole lot more time.

  6. Not a bad piece, but the town is spelled “Fredericton”.
    /nitpick.

(There, that should pass for defending this crappy town for another year or so.)

  7. “Personally…I’d take great pleasure in sending the fucker straight to hell with a slow tortured means to his demise, while cursing him and asking for his death to be prolonged as long as possible”

Haha. You definitely are the better person.

  8. i don’t care how much on BME we are supposed to swoon and feign love for different mods, a tattoo of Charles Manson no matter how cool and niche it makes you is still degrading, sensationalist and disgusting to those he masterminded the deaths of.
Not cool, but only my opinion sorry.

  9. Murder and mind control are the ultimate mods.

Oh right, his victims didn’t consent.

    Fuck him, now and forever.

  10. different needle strokes for different folks.

not my thing, but I think it’s a cool and thought provoking tattoo.

you know Manson is eligible for parole in 2012?

  11. I wanna know if anyone has tattoos of Ed Gein or The Moors Murderers… How about the child-eating Albert fish?

    Didn’t think so somehow…

  12. I wish every hate-filled, sadistic, violent, or just downright stupid person would be so nice as to broadcast the fact. It would make it a lot easier to know who to stay the hell away from.

  13. here’s something to question…We say no to Charles Manson…But how about Hitler? Stalin? Saddam Hussein? Vlad The Impaler? If we say its bad taste for people to get Serial Killers, etc but is it ok to get Mass Murderer/Genocidal Political figures tattooed on?

What if say someone has a serious interest in serial killers and utilized said imagery to display their passion for that psychological realm that their hobby or interest lies? Or perhaps they are a Criminal Psych Major?

I view the tattoo as quite a comical imagery of said individual and it made me chuckle cuz in the end its just crazy old charlie who’s rotting away in jail somewhere…and he’ll never see a penny most likely from all the money made off him over the years… Case in point the up coming Charles Manson movie, etc…

I say it strikes a cord to invoke an emotional response…Much like how those “Dollar A Day Can Save A Starving Child” ad’s always post kids in the ultimate piece of shit location, etc…Or how magazines take pictures of various horrible scenes, etc…They do it to get an emotional response and react in the exact same situation that’s currently being stated.

again to me the tattoo makes me chuckle, because its cartoony and the quote about makes it that more hilarious.

  14. /me books Myra Hindley backpiece.

I hate the Beatles for giving Manson a shitty soundtrack.

  15. Nature223 – If a cult leader that got a whole bunch of people killed (but never killed anyone personally) deserves death, why don’t Bush/Cheney/etc deserve death?

  16. Holy crap Manson is still kicking it?!? I figured he was long since gone.

*Shannon I agree with your last comment.
How many innocent people have the Bush’s killed?

  17. This very much reminds me of the Hitler tattoo you posted a long time ago. It brings up the question of what is ethical to tattoo on a person and what isn’t?

  18. In response to Shannon and Snap Dragon,

Its the same reason that you never here the United States comming under scrutiny for Human Rights Violations. Or how military/governmental leaders never face trials for, or even openly accused of being, war criminals.

It’s acceptable, expected even, to feel contempt towards a mass murderer or serial killer.Their actions are forthright. Blatant. Not masked (however transparently) in nationalistic rhetoric. “Our problem is that people are obedient all over the world in the face of poverty, and starvation and stupidity, and war, and cruelty.” H. Zinn

    [end of irrelevant rant]

  19. but don’t you see? it’s ohk for bush and other political figures to throw away peoples lives because it’s for money and power.

doing it for the lols is what makes it wrong.

  20. “If a cult leader that got a whole bunch of people killed (but never killed anyone personally) deserves death, why don’t Bush/Cheney/etc deserve death?”

Now you’re not even trying, Shannon.

  21. Bobb, the reality is that both are having people killed by proxy for personal/ideological reasons. I don’t see that one is morally superior to the other.

  22. I’m with you all the way Warren (Post number 19)!
Personally I like the tattoo, and to be honest I’ve considered getting a Manson quote tattooed myself (without the name of course, I’m not THAT brave).
I can only imagine what the casual person down the street is going to say.
All in all though I’ve always found Manson to be one of the most interesting “murderers” (I use quotes as he technically didn’t kill anyone himself) out there. More power to this person for getting a spiffy, and if nothing else controversial tattoo.

  23. #6 How can you consider Manson a serial killer? Psychopath, check. Cult guru, check. Serial killer? He doesn’t qualify for lack of actual serial murders.

  24. Who said Bush is morally superior to anyone? Why are you flame baiting? I think that’s Bobb’s point. It’s also kind of bizarre to say that because someone says they feel a certain way about a particular person, they somehow don’t feel that way about someone else… When I make a comment about someone, do I have to mention in the same breath everyone else I feel that way about? You’re just being weird and petty, Shannon, not making anyone think.

  25. Matt – If you read nature223′s other posts you’ll see the relevance.

I also don’t think it’s bizarre that calling for someone’s death be for their actions, rather than their personality or politics.

  26. Charlie was one of the first ones to speak out for dumpster diving! Golf Bless Charlie!

    PS he is totally boring.

  27. #6 said they have been studying serial killers, and made the claim that Charles Manson never killed anyone. But he has confessed to killing Crowe in his hollywood apt.

  28. “Nature223 – If a cult leader that got a whole bunch of people killed (but never killed anyone personally) deserves death, why don’t Bush/Cheney/etc deserve death?-Shannon”

I belive they do deserve it. Of course one has to question wether any human or governmenmt has the right to decide who deserves live or dies…

  29. shannon your basic premise is flawed….
freeing a stricken nation with VOLUNTEER fighters after being a duly elected president.
can NOT compare to a crazed person seeking to make death his annointing of grace,to unwilling victims…
nice bush slam though…you guys still havent gotten him out of office with global whining..too bad, guess he’s doing something that needs to be done and you cant see the bigger picture, and long term goals….but that’s okay, your not a political animal,at least not one who “GETS IT”

  30. and Shannon,I wasnt calling for his death…I said I want to be that INSTRUMENT…I want to gleefully kill the fuck…..slowly

  31. #6-there is speculation as to whether he shot this one guy in the dessert-i think he was a ranch hand…its been years since i read the book…
#16-i’d totally tattoo old ed on me-he wasn’t just a murder/ grave robber-he was an artist…(i can feel the virtual rocks heading my way for that joke already)
    albert fish tattoo:
    http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=51160462&albumID=10795&imageID=1467145
    my ex-husband did that one…

    oh and shannon-#23-excellent point!!!

#39 “freeing a stricken nation with VOLUNTEER fighters after being a duly elected president.
can NOT compare to a crazed person seeking to make death his annointing of grace,to unwilling victims…”
-is that what happened? i thought he just declared war on a country for false reasons and pretty much wrecked their hood and killed thousands in the name of oil…damn those newspapers! why do they lie???

-i think the tattoo is pretty cool…who cares that manson was a cult leader and if its ‘ethical’ to get this tattoo??? if its not on you-you don’t get to decided…

  32. “both [Manson and Bush had] people killed by proxy for personal/ideological reasons. I don’t see that one is morally superior to the other.”

I doubt many people here are Bush supporters or war supporters, Shannon, but if you really can’t see the difference between a convicted murderer who incited others to slaughter people and an elected (yes, elected — at least once) president who led his country into war, with a great deal of support, it should be remembered, then nothing anyone says here will help you.

I suppose in the cloistered world of BME it ultimately doesn’t matter, since it’s highly unlikely anyone will ever get an image of George installed on their body.

  33. “freeing a stricken nation with VOLUNTEER fighters after being a duly elected president.”

but why is it that America HAS to “free” all these “stricken nation”?

Other than the fact that American’s prime source of living for the past couple hundred years has been primarily on “war”…aka “War Is Business and Business is War”

Also if we factor in Rice, Cheney, Rumsfield and the various big names who have actually condoned and advocated “enhanced interrogation techniques” which is a fancy word for TORTURE.

Also your stating volunteer’s…But do you even know most of the younger military these days? Most of them join the military because they have no other way…I used to see it all the time at my old shop in Niagara Falls…Barely legal kids walking in to get work done before they take off to Iraq, etc….Is it really “volunteering” when they’re not given another option in life? (ie: come join us! we’ll teach you how to play real life cool video games! and we’ll pay for your education, etc!)

I wonder how controversial it’d be to do up a tattoo of Bush, Cheney, Rice, Powel, Rumsfield, etc, etc, etc all put in the background of: “The Last Supper” hehehe ;)

  34. “I wonder how controversial it’d be to do up a tattoo of Bush, Cheney, Rice, Powel, Rumsfield, etc, etc, etc all put in the background of: “The Last Supper” hehehe ;)”

    <3… OMG do it!!!!

  35. “who cares that manson was a cult leader and if its ‘ethical’ to get this tattoo???”
Anyone who’s seen photos of a dead Sharon Tate and her friends, that’s who.

  36. I wonder if it was a conscious decision to replace Manson’s forehead swastika with a more benign cross, and if so, what the logic behind it was.

  37. “Anyone who’s seen photos of a dead Sharon Tate and her friends, that’s who.”

i’ve read helter skelter plenty of times and saw plenty of picss…hmmm…no…i reall don’t care…its his body

  38. “both [Manson and Bush had] people killed by proxy for personal/ideological reasons. I don’t see that one is morally superior to the other.”

Neither morally superior to the other, but one was chosen by the people to continue… Which makes it all the more troublesome.

  39. Aw. I think thats a really cute portrait of Charlie. I was like you once. Lost, confused, a piece of shit. Then I met Charlie.

Less a serial, more an excellent conspirator… getting into others’ minds and convincing them to do the unthinkable.

In response to the above comments… to say we’re in Iraq because we’re volunteering to save them from Saddam…. not to undermine the conditions in Iraq, but I’m pretty sure Africa is experiencing far worse conditions of violence, extreme poverty, disease, starvation, and genocide than Iraq is. But somehow Iraq needs us to jump in more, and somehow they’re the only ones with an asset we covet…

  40. nature223, that’s exactly my point, it’s a democracy. The majority made the shit choice, so blaming Bush is just as relevant as blaming the people who voted for him, who are just as guilty.

That being said, my opinion happened to be the majority in my country, fool.

  41. You seem to be under the impression that I am American… I am a proud Canadian (that’s North of you).

  42. I love this tattoo, you can bash my comment if you want and go off about how YOU want to kill and YOU want him dead. I don’t care about YOU. this is my opinion. Prime tattoo.
