Don’t Blame Me, I Voted For Kodos

By Jordan Ginsberg • Nov 3rd, 2008 • Category: ModBlog

Say, I wonder how the folks at Club Tattoo and Piercing in Springdale, Arkansas, will be voting tomorrow?

Oh. Right. Cute. You stay classy, Club Tattoo.

(P.S.: Please don’t start a political flame war.)

**Ed. note: The Club Tattoo mentioned in this post is in no way affiliated with Club Tattoo in Tempe, Arizona.**

  1. lol, subtle.

    ps. GOBAMA.

  2. fuck that shop if they don’t like OBAMA!
    fuck them in the ASS!

  3. whata joke!
have you seen the quality of thier work?
“quality over quantity” … what a bunch of bullshit!

  4. Its times like this that I miss Roo.
    Subtle, and NOBAMA.

  5. NO *cough* POLITICAL *cough* FLAME *cough* WAR!!
    ;)

…. only in America do you see shit like this!

  6. Oh, Christ. e_e I don’t care WHO you vote for but stuff like that is just sickening.

  7. The only reason to put up something like that would be to provoke “ME TOO” posts or flames.

  8. this makes me never want to get tattooed again.
Seriously, if they had said “Vote McCain” I’d be O.K. with it. But This sign is just childish and desperate. No matter what side of the fence you’re on, we can all agree that this stuff has to go.

But apparently the American people like fear-mongering and hate. (This applies to democrats to, I mean, look at what people say about Bush!)

  9. I felt the same thing when I saw five people wearing SARAH PALIN IS A CUNT tshirts in the same bar in Philly. (re: the ME TOO crowd).

Apparently it’s ok to say that about her, but not Clinton. (Hillary. I love me some Bill)

  10. Well the general consensus with Bush is that he is an idiot.
Which pales in comparison to being accused of befriending terrorists or being a Marxist.

  11. Why not vote for mccain… such hatred! And in such a horrible way and on a side note doesnt anyone in the US
realise that lowering taxes will only mean that the US government will borrow more money and be more in debt subsequently burning the world up of any hope of a future!!!!??

  12. Wow…
    http://www.clubtattoo.biz/pics/billyclub/m_cc4a0e6b08bc5514637d3aec24d7d241

  13. aaaah morons and politics, an amusing combination!

  14. It’s supposed to read “ROOBAMA”, the R and O blew away in a freak political storm.

  15. hahahahaha Roo, you make my day….
and Shawn Porter, I DEFINITELY agree with you.

  16. Apart from the content of the sign being pretty low, I wouldn’t be trusting a place that can’t get the lettering of their sign in the middle properly. That ‘Obama’ is off centre is really bugging me. :s

  17. Will they not lose business for being generally idiotic.

  18. Why would anyone want to alienate potential clients like that?

  19. hahahaha….what idiots!
    Way to loose clientele!

  20. Pirate - It’s off-center because the R and O blew away (in a freak political storm).

  21. Pft, ignorance.

  22. Hey, Shawn, maybe you stop being a bitch and calm the eff down.

  23. my first reaction was to think they were being ironic and just missed the mark. but…

  24. I thought tattooed people were all about the anti-christ?

  25. Ugh, that kinda shit is not needed, really just “Vote McCain” would have been more then enough. I now know one tattoo/piercing parlor I’ll never go to.

  26. What I find interesting is the fact that
    A) Their site is horrible… seriously I think my 5 year old could have done a better job
    B) Their work isn’t all that great
    C) Why in the hell would you post a sign like that when it’s very possible that anyone who wants Obama may see that decide they want nothing to do with such a childish shop.

  27. Well they are just exercising their right to free speech, it is America they can do that.
Was it a bad business decision?Yes it was but isn’t mixing business with politics always bad?
    Hell yes it is!
People take politics to damn serious anyway…..good example #2 Mr. Warborn

  28. people are so stupid why does everyone still think he’s Muslim?

  29. This is the only place where piercing guns are more likely to rile people up than this election and I love it!
Also, pidge #9 = best comment ever, Marxism ain’t that bad :p (not that I am one- I’m all about Roobama)

  30. oh too funny!! lol.. I’ve so been there (just to check it out)! When I lived in Arkansas.. The people are actually pretty nice in person… but yeah they’re a bunch of rednecks (and not v. smart at all) pretty much, lol.. and the work isn’t v. good at all..

  31. I’m proud to be a Canadian

  32. Lame, lame lame ignorant but hell whatever to each there own

  33. The “only in america” comments crack me up, people. Have you SEEN the shit that goes on in the rest of the world?? I’m not saying we are perfect by any means… but everyone else’s shit stinks too.

  34. i’m all up for getting tattooed at this shop now.

  35. That shop is in my home town. I’ve been in it. First I’d like to promise all of you that we are not all ignorant zenophobic bigots, though we certianly have a generous share of them. That sort of atmosphere is the reasion that while I was licenced to pierce in Arkansas I never quite made it into a shop.

Jordan, i just sent out my absentee ballot and lets just say the shop owner, Billy Club, and my politics don’t really line up…

  36. Am I the only one is more motivated to vote for Obama because, according to the billboard, he is the Anti-Christ? I think that’s so METAL \m/!

  37. Thank god I’m not American, I’ve heard of shit like this all over the States.
Will people ever realize that name calling (and shit slinging of this sort) belongs under the disciplinary care of a second grade teacher?

    sure ^^

  39. i fucking hate everyone on modbolog. i’m done with this fucking site.

  40. PLEASE DO NOT MISTAKE THEM FOR US. (http://www.clubtattoo.com)

Roorah, any chance you can make that an ed. note?

  41. er… Jordan. Or whoever.

  42. Thank you!

  43. Hey, who’s to say he ISN’T the Anti-Christ?

    God bless America…and neon signs.

  44. #37, I’m glad you’re not American as well. You would be unhappy living in an imperfect place with people who have faults. Best to stay in whatever utopia you’ve found
    .
Personally, I don’t know why some ignorant sign exercising (ignorant) free speech would worry anyone or sway anyone’s vote either way.
Consider the source. It’s so stupid it’s laughable.

  45. I’d love to do the anti-christ <3

  46. @#31, you mean the anti christ hussein canada with all of their communist marxist free health care and other wild extremist marxist ideas. i wouldn’t be surprised if #37 was a communist too. screw that i am staying in america where it is saf e and free of communists and marxists and we are able to have freedom right of liberty vote after every summer olympics which we always win.
AMERICA IS still #1 VOTING IS FOR FUN WEEEE I LOVE HOTDOG

  47. While I definitely don’t believe this belongs on a business sign (why would anyone want to be tattooed by a child?) I can’t say that I’m exactly against the comment itself. I’m a supporter of Barack Obama and believe that McCain is an evil bastard, and Sarah Palin a moron. But I’ve said some pretty harsh things about Palin.
So if they really wish to put their misguided opinions out for everyone to see, (and avoid the parlor like the plague) it’s their business that will suffer for it.

  48. And, one last one:
#37. Yes. Thank god you don’t live in a land where you’re free to your opinion, even if it is immature. >.>

  49. that sign is awesome. im glad there are still wholesome americans with functional brains still left in this country. i was worried obama had brainwashed them all, as he did most of my unfortunate friends.
    .:NOBAMA:.

  50. r4v3n - You’re obviously as ignorant as the people who decided to post what’s on the sign. However, I understand that there are numerous stupid people in our country (regardless of political affiliation), such as yourself, and I accept that.

  51. 47. that’s kind of a stupid thing to say. shockingly, the us is not the only country with freedom of speech.

  52. Stay classy Arkansas! :D
    -man obama’s so ill

  53. Don’t blame me, I voted for Nader.

You really do believe that american citizens have real freedom of speech while people in the rest of the world do not? You should come to Europe some time so you could see the difference.

    “# Brittney on November 3rd, 2008 at 4:05 pm:

…. only in America do you see shit like this!”

2008 has been election year in my country too and I’ve been hearing exactly the same shit. And I’m still hearing it six months after the election. Sometimes I’m afraid we’ll have another civil war, my country’s strongly divided between religious right-wingers and social liberals.

  55. lol@political tension
    tomorrow, the real fun starts
    (: i love losing sides
    they’re funny
and to roo,I’m sorry your sign is in such disrepair,
without the r&o it looks as if they don’t like Barack Obama.
    Also, america=stupid reality shows
    ^^ i win

  56. is this for real?!
    oh my.

  57. I see nothing wrong with the sign other than the use of religion. Religion is about as silly as politics. I dont care what religion someone is (or isn’t), I dont care what political stance they take as i see it they are all being silly, and yes that includes anyone and everyone up in arms about this sign on either side too.
People have opinions and they are welcome to shout them from whatever soapbox they want. Shooting someone down for saying obama is the anti-christ is just as stupid as the person saying it in the beginning. Good job people.

Let idiots sit on whatever side of the fence they want to, and let them say what they want to, its not like it makes the slightest bit of difference. I forget where I read it but someone recently said neither of them could have made it this far without being bought anyways.

  58. or is it a ployto get mentioned ona popularsite like bme?? after all as they say no publicity is bad publicity (being that yous are all talking about it rather than just ignoring their need for a reaction)

  59. god, my typing gets worse by theday!!(or is it a ploy to get mentioned on a popular site….)

  60. Only in America are people allowed the freedom to make signs such as this. Enjoy it while you can. It doesn’t seem we will have these freedoms for long.

  61. i just like how that sign has nothing to do with tattoos at all, no special sale promo, or info or anything, it just basically says obama is evil. Who knows, its a tattoo shop, aren’t all tattooed people devil worshipers, maybe they’re anti-christ supporters! Joke, of course about the devil worshiper thing, but nobody likes to have lies and stereotypes thrown in their face, it’s unfortunate that nearly everyone on the planet resorts to petty ignorant attacks instead of reason or good ol conversation. and GOBAMA!!!!!! Obama is fucking amazing. too bad that when he gets elected he will inherit 8 years of fiscal, political and military bullshit that nobody can possibly fix and people will call him a failure.

  62. You know, the funny thing concerning the “Wonkette”-Link that everybody else seems to have missed is that my Tattooist has his studio next to some Strip Clubs, XXX-Stores and - directly adjacent to the local Jesus Freaks-headquarters.

So… if I was an american, who should I vote for now? McCain because I’m tattooed, a Metalhead and I have to please “Club Tattoo” or Obama because 93% of the people at my age in my country would vote for him if we had the choice. Well, it would be quite interesting if the people of other countries could decide for you (et vice versa). Perhaps there would be global freedom. Or destruction. But I digress…

I think the “Club” in “Club Tattoo” must have something to do with bloodgeon rather than “social institution”. Just guessing from their gallery though…

Concerning the “only in america” comments and all the freedom-crap… try to drink a beer topless on a beach (as a woman)…

Happy voting anyway, the most important thing is, that you vote - I mean - it doesn’t really make a difference who you vote for but that you vote at all even if you’re a dumbshit and have no idea what’s going on and you just listen to the flamewars and decide by that, which is actually how it’s working over here, so I guess it’s like that in America, too…

    Greets from overseas,
    day

  63. I honestly don’t care what they put up on their marquee. As long as the work is done well (Obviously it isn’t), and they are professional (…no comment..), then I could care less about their particular political views. Just ot be childish right back, I’d totally go in there and ask to have a Barack Hussein Obama chestpiece tattooed on me:)

Actually, I wouldn’t because most of that stuff looks, shameful. I’d be horrified if I had to pay more than $20/hr– if that– for a tattoo there.

  64. Haha the anti-christ (according the them) is now the President!

  65. Latino flash?

  66. I hope this works..

    moar funny pictures

  67. Obama won!!!! yeah!!!!!!

  68. [...] You’re not done yet, people. (Via Modblog) [...]

  69. well…..there’s a shop I’ll never set foot in….thanks for informing us about these raging idiots….

  70. I may not have the best knowledge of American politics, but it amuses me to no end when I come across places like a Republican tattoo parlour. To me tattoos are such a liberal thing, and Republicans aren’t. It amuses me…

  71. Club Tattoo (479) 750-1835

  72. Yeah, I know! I live around a mile away from this parlor and have refused to even step foot into it for various different reasons. My roommates have had almost all of their ink done there and almost talked me into getting work done by Mr. Billy Club (the owner of said parlor) also. And with him pulling shit like this, I’m glad I didn’t do it. I can’t stand BIGOTS!

  73. Such incendiary signs, while most definitely a part of free speech, show the level of sheer ignorance of whoever posted it. Ignorance on many levels…

Just goes to show the mind set of some folks.. when you don’t have something worthwhile to vote FOR… you have to dig for something to vote against.

Glad this country is what it is tho.. Proud of us today!

  74. lets all call the shop twice a day and ask: how much for an “I heart Obama” tattoo?

  75. Wow. Thats really all I can say. I think people should have to take a political and/or history test before being allowed to vote. They might as well have let my 10 month old son vote.

  76. I was hoping this post would be about the band I Voted For Kodos. D:

  77. POLITICS and ART should never be mixed. their from 2 totally different planets….

  78. [...] come from Sean Dowdell at Club Tattoo in Tempe, Airzona — not, by any means, to be confused with this Club Tattoo. Tagged as: BMEGirls, Body Modification, Body Piercing, [...]

  79. i love how people say how glad they are to not live in america, but there are a lot of choices that our president makes that effect the whole world. so i guess in a way i am glad to live in america because i got to choose who becomes president, not have it chosen for me.

  80. When I went told my mom id be voting for Obama she started a long conversation on how she thought he might be the Antichrist.

Its a horrible thing to say, but I kind of suspect that all we did with the past twenty years was just wait for all the old people to finally die so we could unfuck ourselves. The greatest generation was really organized and they just kept voting in fucktards…
