“The most fun ever for a school project”

Myjah’s friend Alex was taking a photography course at their local community college, and for his final project, an elective, he asked for Myjah’s help.

He gave me a call and asked if I would let him snap a couple of photos of the few mods I have. Of course, that led to him asking if I would actually consent to being pierced by him that night, and voila! My first play piercing session. I think the funniest bit about it was that he had the most stand-out subject in the class — everybody else shot pictures of their pets or houses, albeit in an artsy way. I have a feeling we had more fun with this final than the others.

Below is one of Alex’s black and white shots (“with mild boobage”), and after the break are a few more photos that were taken with Myjah’s digital camera.

Knuckle Duster Skin Removal

Sorry I didn’t write sooner in the day. Ryan from BMEshop reminded me that Rock Band is out in Canada now so I picked it up this morning and quickly whipped through beating it on “hard” (the graphics are nicer than in Guitar Hero, but it’s a way easier game)… Sorry, it’s a compulsion! Beating “expert” is next although I don’t expect it to be particularly challenging either (I’m just playing on “Solo Tour” mode with my GH guitar).

Anyway, this super-clean and precise looking skin removal of a set of brass knuckles on a calf was done by my friend Anders at The Dragons Lair Tattoo in Marsden, Brisbane Australia.

Dune Eyes

Josh is one of the first of the three of us to get the eye tattoo experiment, and I think his has turned out the best… On the left is real, and the right is a mockup of what it could eventually look like — somewhat alien, to say the least! He says it’s obvious what the rest of his knuckles read since the one hand says “SURG”… I’m going to assume “SURGICAL” but maybe it says “SURGING!” or “SURGE FAN”…

PS. Josh was asking me if anyone has any recommendations on the best (cheapest?) place to get sheep eyeballs to practice on is… Is it easiest to just go to a butcher shop? Or to order them from a scientific supplier?

“LIVE THE LIFE YOU LOVE”

At first I was going to comment that this isn’t going to last at all, but then I look down at my own knuckles, and I have high detail scars from my old knuckle piercings, as well as cuts from various punches and hand injuries. So maybe it will last. Either way, it’s more nice clean work by Brian of Pure Body Arts in Brooklyn, NY (although I’ll mention again that he tours regularly).
