I’m With Stumpy

I absolutely love tattoos with a sense of humor, and it seems like amputees really have what it takes to sell a good joke tattoo. In this case, as featured on the US Marine Corps flikr page, ‘U.S. Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Redmond Ramos, a corpsman, displays a tattoo that reads “I’m with Stumpy” showing his sense of humor Nov. 14, 2012, during the first Wounded Warrior Pacific Trials at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Honolulu, Hawaii. Ramos deployed with 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, to Sangin, Afghanistan in 2011 where he stepped on an IED, resulting in the loss of his leg. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Michael R. Psychedelic Bodmod Yin-Yang

A few days ago I posted about the third “double canvas tattoo” that Marc (Little Swastika) had completed. He has quite a few of these in progress — he tells me there are four on the go at present — but this one is particularly unusual because the mirroring only works in this very peculiar configuration, a sort of psychedelic bodmod yin-yang.

It’s all about LIFE

A beautiful portrait of Marc (Little Swastika) and his new “Life” tattoo, done in the bold and fluid slashing style of script that his studio is well known for, by his partner Freak Mike with whom he pushes their niche of the artform forward. You can also see his black eye tattoo nicely in this photo. Zoom in and take a close look and you’ll also catch hold of many scars and other signposts on the map of Marc’s life.

A Lesson To Be Applied

Whoa hey, this beautifully shaped flesh-removal scarification piece comes to us from Jimmy Xayyabanha at Straight A Tattoos in Asheboro, North Carolina. This one’s just about the complete package, folks—something for everyone, from those within the body modification community to font nerds to board game aficionados to your run-of-the-mill scab collectors. The piece seems pretty fresh here and will surely be something of a different beast altogether once it’s healed, but this is nothing if not an exercise in precision and evenness, so we’re looking very forward to seeing how this bad boy turns out.

Hold It True

Hey now, our old pal Anders has checked in from, we don’t know, somewhere amongst the spheres and galaxies, to show us this intense skin-removal piece he performed two months ago. Of course, scars are still apt to change beyond two months into healing, but sweet sassy molassy, this is shaping up beautifully. This is why, if you can help it, you always go to an alien for your various body modification needs, at least when you’re in Broadbeach, Gold Coast, Australia. Close-up shots, after the jump.

The Great Equalizer

You may not know it by looking at the picture, but this is, in fact, the very lovely Miss Duveaux (much more), letting her side-torso tattoo tell the tall tales of her supposed “trouble” for her. I mean, really—how much trouble could a girl who, I don’t know, covers her naked self in blood for Christmas really be? Exactly. One of the nicer (and definitely one of the more large-scale) script pieces we’ve seen in a while, unobscured by that pesky red sheer, after the jump.

Skillful Caresses

Well, folks, let’s end things today the way all things eventually end—with the sweet, merciful release of death. This toe tag, as you can see, belongs to Tavis Hall, and my powers of deduction lead me to believe it may have been applied by Kevin Marr at Godspeed Tattoo. Just call it a hunch!

Stay alive, ModBloggers. We’ll see you tomorrow.

Their Tanks and Their Bombs

And here we have Sao Paulo, Brazil’s O Corsario, showing off this brand new nightmarish zombie erotica, as tattooed by Berribilli. I’m liking the uncommon undead color scheme, all pinks and purples and lime greens. Kinda reminds me of a Vuarnet sweater I owned in the ’80s, except, you know, more brain-thirsty.

God Beat Me To It

Good afternoon, ModBloggers! It’s a sunny day, there’s a cool breeze, maybe you’ve got a frosty beverage in your hand…you know what that means, right? That’s right: Time to kill some m.-fuckin’ zombies. Just follow Jayse‘s lead and you’ll be just fine.
