Tattoo Panoramas

This first piece if by Fabrizio Divari at Divariart Studio on Queen Street here in Toronto. If my art memory is working correctly, it’s based on Salvadore Dali’s Temptation of Saint Anthony.

The second one I’d like to share (and I have this fear I may have posted it before, it’s so nice) is this wondferful Memnto Vivere music forearm sleeve by Joshua Bowers at Sacred Skin in Des Moines, IA.

Just checked… I posted the tattoo in an earlier stage last April which is why it looked familiar! Sad that I can’t remember what I did yesterday but I can usually recognize a mod that I’ve seen once, years ago.

  1. I really love both of these, but the coloring on the first one is gorgeous. It’s so incredibly vivid and I can’t seem to stop looking at it.

  4. I wonder if the ‘strum the guitar’ banner is a quote from a (quite amazing) mewithoutYou song, or just an awesome sentiment. Either way, I love the theme.

  7. Is that just the horse from temptation of St. Anthony with a Dali-style background? I dont recall the block or the butterflies, or that sort of terrain. If thats the case, I really like how that was done (you know it was done well if I cant figure out if it was done like that or not). Its so well done, and such a good choice in piece, I’m thrilled about that one! I love the second one as well, I keep noticing different things in it, and theyre both overall very well done. (sorry, I’ve said too much, these just made me happy to see!)

  13. The first one is absolutely incredible. I don’t think I can comment on the second one as I have a problem looking at pictures of sleeves in that form and being able to visualize them…

  16. I really dig the first one. Love the way the butterfly comes off the arm onto his chest. Oh and #12 I’m pretty sure it’s a horse.

  19. I just saw the ‘why pluck one string when you can strum the guitar’ banner. Definitely a mewithoutYou quote. One of my favorite bands of all time, and an awesome choice of quotes for a music sleeve.

  22. Hey, it’s my tattoo (the second one) and Yes it is a quote from MewithoutYou (it’s gotten me on the guest lists to MWY shows, haha). I am so happy with the whole result and can’t wait to expand up the rest of my arm.

I so wish I had that first tattoo aswell, haha. I love Dali. It is so well done and colors are awesome! I feel kinda honored my tattoo is in the same posting as this one, haha.
