TONGUE SPLITTING |

No one ever said they didn't like their split tongue
Julia tells the story of having her tongue split with a heated scalpel at a Motel 6. After fighting with swelling, regrowth, and a painful local inflamation during healing, she discovers that genetics don't seem to allow her to fully articulate the halves.
"I took out my tongue barbell and Brian marked my tongue. Everything was very clean and after seeing how he works I would rather have him perform dental work on me than any dentist! Using two clamps, both sides of my tongue were held and he heated up the scalpel with the blowtorch and began the first cut. It really didn't hurt as much as I thought it would — it mostly just hurt during the actual cutting. In between cuts I kept laughing, probably because that's my way of dealing with pain and it was actually sort of funny. Minutes later he was done cutting. He was very careful to cauterize the whole cut so there wasn't even a single drop of blood. It was in a motel room, after all, and obviously a big bloody mess would not have been a good idea."

Goodbye Tongue Piercing, Hello Tongue Bifurcation
Jalek (from Smalltown, USA) decides to split his tongue using a tie-off method. When the pain escalates he decides to — with reluctant emergency help from a friend — use a scalpel to finish the split.
"I read all I could find about the procedure, which admittedly wasnt nearly enough. Most of the self-done methods I had found consisted of fishing line wrapped around a barbell in an existing piercing. Fishing is the main pastime in Smalltown, so after rummaging around in the hall closet I quickly found a roll. As I sat there, staring at the roll of fishing line, it occurred to me that this was going to be extremely painful. But, me being stubborn and my mind being made up... I went ahead with my plan."

Piercer gets his Tongue Split
Mark, a piercer from Essex, England, has his tongue split done by Dave Wiper (Modern Primitive, Yorkshire) using an electric cautery tool.
"One side of my tongue was gently held in a clamp by one of the other people at the studio, and Dave held the other half. He used a battery powered electro cautery machine. I felt little during the procedure, but was aware of a sizzling sound, and a great smell of burning flesh, making it slightly difficult to breathe! At the end, there was a little blood. After a rinse, Dave checked my tongue again, and sealed a small blood vessel that was still leaking."
"I had a look in the mirror there was a just over one inch cut in the centre of my tongue, and I could already move the two parts of my new tongues independently. Dave cautioned me against playing too much, as this could make me bleed again!"

TRANSDERMAL AND HIDDEN IMPLANTS, GENITAL BEADING |

My Private Love
The quote that opens this newsletter — "modification work is painful, but there is no suffering involved" — is from this experience in which George describes getting a thin 6" strip of silicone implanted in his forearm by Brian Decker. The implant is meant to be "secret" and was performed without the use of anesthetics.
"Ever since I had my first implant over two years ago I knew it was something I needed to have more of. Sure it's painful, and most people would opt to take anesthatics because they want to get it done and over with because they just want the end result — to those people i say "Go for it". Having in implant is worth it (in the right conditions with the right artist)... It may be painful, but not once am I ever suffering through it, so I always try to stay away from anesthetics. I have had two other implants, both in my sternum (the symbol for infinity carved out of silicone). It was my first real "hard" mod."
"This time I had a six inch long thin strip of silicone implanted into my arm. Is it visible at all? Not really. Why did i do it? Because the feeling of having silicone underneath my skin is amazing. It is a turn on, sexually, emotionally, and mentally — after getting my first implant I was in love with it. I knew it was something I would want to do again. That lead to other modification work such as scarification work, dermal punching and more implants."

Homosapien Mechanics Modification of the Physical Apparatus:
Transdermal Implants
Kyle, born of rebellion to a barren womb, tells a detailed story of Brian Decker installing a series of transdermal implants on his shoulder and forearm. After two years of fighting with the healing, most of the implants were removed. Not that that's the end of the story!
"It's important that we define ourselves instead of letting society do it for us. It's imporant to question, and its important to challenge. Rebellion and pain is why we progress. After all, you're only driven to improve your current situation when you're uncomfortable. Discomfort and dissatisfaction keep me focused and alive. I will never relent. I will never lie down. I will torture myself to keep myself mine. This is my decree. Fuck the hangdog."

Triple Third Eye Experience
Jason Oliver travels to Worthing UK to have Quentin (Kalima) install a row of transdermal implants up the centre of his forehead.
"To me, facial work, whether that be tattoos or whatever, to me always signify a dedication to body modification. My own personal reason for getting the transdermals in the position they are in is that I have always been fascinated with body symbolism, based in mythology. The area inbetween the eyes, known as the third eye, is symbolic of an 'awakening', and although I don't really adhere to notions of 'spirituality', finding that a vacuous idea, the symbolism of the third eye made a lot of sense to me at that time. I had just finished a degree in Graphic Fine Art, where again, all my work was an investigation into the body and ritual. The degree had taken three years to achieve [hence the three transdermals], and I wanted to do something a little bit different for my degree show."

Glass on the Back
Donovon has three 3/16" glass beads implanted along the top of his shaft by Modern Epic's Jason Odd, using a piercing-type implant procedure.
"We got the first area clamped and ready to go and pierced it. The needle went through so smoothly that I almost didn't notice the sting. It took both of our hands to manuver the forceps off but that didn't cause any issues. Jason started the 4ga taper through and then set up the beading tool and inserted the bead. It stung a good bit but still, nothing really bothersome. As he removed the taper and tool the bead shot right out of the hole! We were both pretty startled but just grabbed another bead and shoved it in — a little more carefully this time about making sure it couldn't escape out the side."

MEATOTOMY, SUBINCISION, AND GENITAL SPLITTING |
|
|
More thoughts
Neil from Sydney, Australia, like so many people found himself on the doorstep of meatotomy after being unhappy with the results of his stretched PA piercing.
"I waited until I felt it was safe for the next stage — probably an hour or two — where I untied the fishing line and got out the very thin and extremely strong guitar wire. I inserted the guitar string through my PA opening and pulled it toward me in a sawing motion — similar to cutting cheese! I have to say the cutting went smoothly with little to no blood, and an extrememly clean cut. The biggest rush both physically — and yes sexually — was when I got the the last piece of skin at the top of the urethra. A few saws and suddenly done!! The head now gently parted, and with the inner section glistening, wow, was I going to have fun!!!"

History of Happycock
The aptly named "Happycock" gives a brief overview of his first discovering piercing in the 1970s, then rediscovering it (in Penthouse Forum) in the 90s. Stretching out his PA lead him to meatotomy, then a reverse PA started his headsplitting. The modification continued with subincision and a now-stretched shaft piercing.
"My latest cut came last week, when, after a month of successively running strong floss tighter and tighter through my reverse PA, I felt it was time to slice through to the tip of my dick with a scalpel. This was by far the most excruciating ordeal of my mods. But its done (see BMEs headsplitting section for pictures). The pain subsided immediately, and less, than a week later I am enjoying the consequences. I especially enjoy the 2ga ring in my deep shaft spreading the head apart — I cant wait until its healed enough for penetration."

URETHRAL SOUNDING |
|
|
Sounds Good
Phoenix tells the story of his first (but not last) foray into sounding, using a cotton bud soaked in KY jelly.
"I started the insertion very slowly, and felt a bit of a pinch as it went in, but carried on and got to an unexpected bend in the tube. I moved it around a little, and got the angle of insertion correct and carried on."
"The feeling of it going down inside me was amazing, and I started to move it around slightly, rotating the head of it in a circle inside me. My penis went unbelievably hard, the veins popped out of it as the blood pumped into it."

Enjoy, and see you in a week or two with more. I hope you'll submit your story as well.
