IMPLANTS AND DEEP PIERCING
  Spirit of Silver

Herfried tells his amazing story of using silver chain as both implant and piercing material, with a healed result that's fully integrated into his biology. Herfried's piercings are amazing and include deep muscular placements such as the chains running through the core of his bicep muscle.

Because this story is so rare, I'm making it available to non-members as well. If you're not a full BME member you can click here to read it now.

"Since I was a very small child I was fascinated by things like physical symbiosis or the possibility that things may grow into the body. I don't know where this passion came from, but it has been a part of me for a very long time. I did some early experiments with glue, but I never was satisfied — it wore off too easily and it never felt like a part of me. Long after growing up, while I was studying, piercing came up as a trend of modern body art. This was interesting — metal is pushed through the skin, and after healing it will be nice jewelery. But when I searched the web I found many things, but never any piercing which became really a part of the body. I wondered if I had this dream for my own, but when reading literature, when thinking about cyborgs and so on I felt other people must have the same idea."

TONGUE SPLITTING
  I got forked

Lex, a tattoo artist in Hawaii, has her tongue split by Steve Truitt's scalpel.

"I ended up with my tongue split and I would definitely do it again. I love it. I can kiss myself. I wouldn't do anything differently if I had the chance again. In all honesty the procedure has not effected my life that much. I enjoy it immensely when I even notice it. people don't even know I have it unless I show them. My speech is fine, if not better than with a barbell."

  The Split

Delilah has her tongue split in Australia by Finnish artist Jussi Ranta. Recommended reading.

"I can not describe the fear that I was feeling. I only remember sitting very very still so that I did not give in and tell Jussi I couldn't go through with it. I remember feeling the way I always do when I go in for a piercing, I wanted to leave, just admit that I couldn't go through with it. I couldn't believe I was actually sitting there, looking at Jussi with his scalpel in hand. I couldn't do it, I was just going to have to tell him that I couldn't do it.

My stubbornness held me patiently in my seat. This was it I told myself. Adam took a hold of my tongue and I looked nervously at Jussi. Eyes wide, skin white."

  Tongue splitting
Second time round

In Italy, Claudia, after her first splitting attempt heals shut, decides to try cutting her tongue a second time for better results.

"The cut had started to heal, but was not healing as I wanted. It was bloody CLOSING. After the bleeding, my tongue, which had gotten slightly better, was very sore again and, worst of all, the two sides were beginning to stick together. I tried, and tried again to separate them, but it was incredibly painful and every time I tried, it seemed to make it bleed more, not to mention make it more sore. This went on for a couple of days."

Self tongue splitting to 'dull the pain'

Amber, a collections agent, leaves work due to stress and depression. While on psychiatric leave, she uses tie off and then scalpelling to split her tongue as a way of dealing with her inner pain.

" got through a lot if it by popping sleeping pills and ibuprofen, until, with my sensitive stomach from having a huge ulcer only a few years back left me with barely a stomach lining, caused me to have serious problems with the ibuprofen. So I went on, drinking a lot of Peptobismol, and I got a friend to get me some of that Prilosec OTC. That helped the stomach, but now the swelling became very painful by day four. I had to switch to Tylenol, which didn't do a damn thing. I slept through most of day four and by day five, a little bit of my tongue started to heal back together. This was extremely frustrating. I took a pocket knife and separated the two halves again."

MALE GENITAL CUTTING: CIRCS AND SUBS
  From Meatotomy to Subincision

As a way of dealing with stress, this author cuts at his urethra, over time taking him to a subincision.

"I waited till the wound healed open before going in again, making first a longer cut I could put my index finger in up to the first knuckle, then letting that be for the longest time. Cutting from the bottom up is always hard to do because you can't always get the tilt and angle right."

From frenum cutting, scalpel PA, to a Meatotomy

Keith in Hong Kong reshapes his frenum, cuts in place a PA, and later cuts it all out leaving a meatotomy.

"So in the Lunar New Year break in the year 2001, I did prepare "everything" I needed to have: Two vein clamps, one surgical scissors, one surgical scapel, one Hedar sound (you will define what to do with this), one 0ga bead ring, serveral pairs of gloves, xylocaine, silver nitrate, and of course a clean place — my own dining room."

  My meatotomy and beyond

Allen, having been pierced now for 38 years, extends his PA piercing into a meatotomy and later a partial subincision.

"I guess I was about seventeen when I first became interested in modifying my cock. I am now fifty three so it has been a long journey. I remember inserting various things into my urethra from a very early age starting with long flexible cords and the like and progressing to pencils and thicker tubes, I just loved the feel of something inside my cock. It seemed though that the size of my hole was restricting my experiments and I resolved to somehow increase it."

  Go get cut —
It's way better!

Because of a hypospadia (a deformation of the urethal opening), Brody was never circumcised as a child, but as an adult he had a doctor correct that oversight.

"Sex is way better and my penis looks how it should. While healing I started to get spontaneous erections which was sooo painful with stitches in! I kind of have some scars because of that, but whatever..."

FEMALE GENITAL MODS
  Strangling my Clit

Inspired by stories of men's banding, Kate, who enjoys the plateau of sexual sensation more than orgasmic "conclusion", attempts to destroy her clitoris by strangling it with a noose.

"I first stripped, laid down on the floor with my back against the tub and my legs spread, and then positioned a magnified mirror so I could clearly see between my legs. I made a noose out of floss and set it aside, and then began to prepare my clit. I placed a washer over the very tip of my nubbin then began to work it through the center. When I was satisfied I had as much of it worked through as I could, I pressed the washer firmly against my body. I was amazed how large my clit looked."

  Our life of modification

At age forty nine, after seeing pictures of Todd Bertrang's work, a woman is circumcized in stages and has her clitoris cut off by her husband.

"One thing we had joked about when researching the project was the picture of Robyn eating her own clit after it was removed. We are not interested at all in cannibalism, but I did have other plans for the removed parts. Her clit and labia, with the jewelry still inserted, are now cast in a block of Lucite plastic which is sitting on my desk as I write this. It has been more than six months since the procedure, and they seem to be keeping quite well. I hope to be able to keep them forever as a reminder of her circumcision."

  Split hood, DIY style

After a first failed attempt, San splits her own hood.

"I don't exactly know why I chose this specific mod. I was browsing BME and saw it, and wondered if I could do it myself. I studied my clit hood, and I had it pierced, so I figured I could cut to the piercing, sort of like what people do to split their tongue. So I stole some surgical scissors from the first aid kit and went at it."

CORSETRY
  Shaping My Life

Maddy, a professional seamstress in Australia, has been making her own corsets since she was eleven years old, and she's continued to refine her skills — and body shape — ever since.

"I remember seeing pictures of corseted women when I was about seven or eight years old. My grandmother had been teaching me to sew and I requested of her that she teach me how to make these garments that would allow me to shape my torso in the same manner.

She looked at me and laughed. She said that such things were no longer appropriate for the women of today. I let go of the idea but still secretly yearned for the same such control over my own body."

  First time with a Corset

Karina, fascinated with corsets from a young age, takes advantage of her sewing skills and makes herself a first corset.

"After being laced into my beautiful garment I was thrilled! Words cannot fully express what it was like to be all bound up and compressed. I went to show my mom who thought it was beautiful and that I did a wonderful job making it. The first time I had it on was only for a little while because it was late at night, however a couple days later I put it on to wear all day and show to many who Id told about it.

Throughout the entire day wearing a corset I had a great awareness of the entire midsection of my body. It was such a thrilling feeling to be tightly put in it and be forced to stand straight."

VACUUM PUMPING
  Big Balls

Being brutally honest, Bill's into vacuum pumping because he's a guy, and with very few exceptions, guys enjoy having a big package.

"I'm currently a law student. I'd rather not say where, but you've heard of it. For all intents and purposes, I'm your average American male. I'm a fraternity brother, a college athlete, and a vacuum pumper. Like most guys, I've thought quite a bit about the size of my dick. I know that I don't have anything to worry about in the size department, but hey, packin a little extra isn't going to hurt anybody.

I like having a fat package. In the locker room, I always felt more comfortable when I was a little pumped up. When I take my pants off when I'm with a girl, I like to be all that I can be."

EAR MODIFICATION
Two inch ear lobe splitting after necrosis of other lobe

After an apparent allergic reaction to Bactine after stretching his lobes to 2", Cory's one lobe thins out and goes necrotic, eventually resulting in a split lobe. In this story Cory splits his other ear to match.

"I became interested in piercings young, had my ear lobes pierced at age nine, and began to stretch slowly from there. Now, I was quite young, but was around professionals, so I had things like 14ga and 12ga rings in for a while. Then finally one summer I went to 6ga, and from there all the way up to two inches within about six years. The last stretch I made was to two inches, and that's when I ran into some problems."

AMPUTATION
  Amputation Finds Release

Driven by depression, Michael turns his life around by amputating — sacrificing — half a finger. This article reflects on his decision five years later.

"Things were going well, and then he hit the bone. Thats where I started feeling a little, well, sick. I broke out in a cold sweat and closed my eyes. The partner held a glass of orange juice with a straw in front of me and demanded that I take a drink. I have to admit, it made me feel a bit better.

Next came the bone saw.

The sound was enough to make my teeth hurt and I fought to keep my dinner in my stomach."

Enjoy, and see you in a week or two with more. I hope you'll submit your story as well.
