Subject: one for you! :)
Hello,
I have just had the opportunity to read your comments to Body Modification Ezine (BME) regarding their web site.
I believe below are your exact comments...

"Subject: Warning.
I am writing to express my extreme disgust at the material you authorise to be displayed on these pages. All the stuff you show is a corruption of public morals, and my team will be getting in touch with the High Court in London soon to consider the possibility of an injunction being put onto this webpage to prevent it being shown in the UK.

I'm just wanting to ask you why you believe the content of the site is "a corruption of public morals"? The BME site has been produced to inform people about such things as piercings and other modifications. Admittedly, all the viewing material isn't totally pleasant to those of us who have weaker stomachs and some things seem just plain bizarre. However, there are people who wish to partake of these things and it is much better that they be able to access this sort of information and the personal text experiences (not all are good experiences if you have managed to stop and read a few) in order to make informed decisions.

I have a few piercings (I'm a rather conservative woman so I have no obvious piercings) and am eternally grateful to BME for helping me understand what I was to go through and how I was best to manage it. I'll also let you know that I am an active Christian, yet have no objection to the BME site. I'm most certainly not in favor of many of the modifications displayed in there, however, I do believe that our time can be spent on much more productive ways to improve (or decrease the erosion of) 'public morals'.

I don't see how you can have such adamant objections to the BME site while such quantities of blatant porn are still easily accessible to anyone who knows how to spell porn or any other slightly sexual word... lets say, perhaps, breast cancer... What results do you expect to find if you undergo an internet search on breast cancer? I have stumbled across porn sites where the main feature is live sex shows where one woman will 'do' 640 men in a day (and it was a free site). Why not take action against such revolting, immoral, visual material? Learn to differentiate between information sites and sites that are developed with the purpose of spitting in the face of the public morals.

I know BME has it's own soft porn styled pages, however, to access them you require membership - paid membership. That is where the consumers' free will comes into effect, I don't believe it is within any authorities rights to remove free will from any section of any community.

My other query is, if you took such offence to the BME site, why did you continue to look through it? I make that assumption given that no one could take such strong offence by merely looking at the first page. One would have to do a thorough search of the site before finding much terribly offensive material. Most of the material is text; documenting peoples experiences.

I hope this has enlightened you somewhat.

I'm not saying your objections are completely out of the water, there are many people who, I'm sure, are also offended by the material. Different strokes for different folks though my friend. If I were you, I wouldn't risk removing such an important wealth of information from UK access - the results would not be a decrease in modifications, it would most likely be an increase in poorly and incorrectly performed modifications.

Yours in Christ
Justine
