The first article is a nice example how the struggle against crimes is used by piercing haters to smuggel laws into the rules, which makes piercings illegal. Even grown up women no will have troubles to get genital piercings in UK (as long as they do not DIY work)…
Absolutely outrageous. I live in the UK, many people could, and have, accused me of mutilating myself due to highly visible tattoos, scars and piercings. I see this as an extension of that belief. I modified MY OWN genitals; am I a victim of myself? I feel GOOD about what’s lurking in my pants, and anyone who would claim this is FGM is frankly a f*****g idiot. I feel this will undermine women who ARE victims of barbaric circumcision and infibulation. There is no comparison. Shame on the NHS. I will be raising this issue when I next see my GP. And so help me god, if I end up labelled as an FGM ‘victim’ I will seek legal action.
Yeah I have to say I can’t even wrap my head around that article about genital piercings and FGM. It would be helpful to hear from those in the UK with more firsthand knowledge about what this is all about and the repercussions it could have for women’s autonomy over their own bodies in terms of getting pierced or even other voluntary heavier mods which may already fall into grey areas depending on local laws.
