Tony Powers, one of the few tattoo artists also doing scarification, did this tattoo over a strike branding… Because of the very traditional design I imagine it makes an interesting impact because at first people write it off as “boring” but then all of a sudden realize they’re looking at something “more”.
boring… oh wait! Cool ;)
wow, i really like the effect this has
the only thing i would maybe change about this is to but a bit of colour in the feathers of the arrow – great look, though. i love tattoos and scars together.
Wow. That looks so amazing. Damn…
The colors are fantastic.
the effect of the branding with the tattoo ink is amazing!
i think the aesthetic of both them together just kinda makes everything pop a bit. the brand and tattoo apart would just be boring but together I love this.
That’s a nice fucking flame.
This is great. Major love of the flame.
what a wonderful piece
I am a huge fan of this :)
Wow, that looks great… the branding really gives it depth.
I would’ve done the feathers in color though but still. wooow, pretty cool that they mixed it up like that, scarrifacation and tatooing x)
I really enjoy most of the things posted here, but I don’t care for this at all. I like both of them separate, but together they just seem like a bit too much is going on.
But to each his own, it’s not my body. ^_^
Thats amazing,I really like the combined effect
Holy shit, I love this.
I like that there are subtle highlights on the edges of the brad to enhance the look of depth.
i have to say… this is very very nice tattoo!
i don’t like this kind of tattoos, but this one is very good designed…
well done
So simple, but I very much like the outcome. I also agree with #12, it definitely adds a nice element of depth to the piece!
oh holy crap this is fukkin awesome!! great idea, executed extremely well…great job all around,i would be so proud if this was mine…i have to have something like this done.
That’s a really good looking blend of two techniques…
I have always loved scars+tattoos together, and this is no exception. The scar alone looks pretty cool, but the mix is just awesome.
This is stunning! and has given me a few ideas of how to futher improve some of my designs ideas, thank you!
to me it looks as though the scarring was done after the tattooing. brilliant composition.
