“Franky’s Dream”

I really, really, really loved these photos from my friends at Andromak P4 in Paris, France.

Franky, currently thirty seven years old, suffers from a form of myopathy (a muscular disorder; there’s nothing wrong with his mind) and lives at an institution in France. One of his dreams was to get tattooed. Almost everyone at the hospital was opposed to it, but Andromak P4 felt she understood his feelings, and that he had as much right as anyone else to fulfill this dream. The tattoo is now done and the dream is close to fulfilled — in a few weeks she will return and fill in the color.

Anyway, I just thought this was super cool, and hats off to the hospital staff and administration for allowing it to go forward.

  1. That’s really nice to see, I’m glad they let it go ahead. Having a physical disability doesn’t make anybody less able to make suitable decisions and I’m so glad that somebody understood that.
