steve-o, there’s an application type thing on the skin project website, and contact info for shelley. I think it’s still really, really backed up: I applied to become a word something like six months ago and I’m still waiting to hear anything, but it’s a really amazing project if that’s your thing. Good luck if you do decide to go for it!

Imagine how much it would suck if you participated in the skin project, then really hated the story. I’m sure she would never write anything offensive and is a really cool project, its just in my personality to have the “what if” in the back of my mind.
I have a single word tattooed on me (though not a part of the skin project), and people always ask me what I mean by it. I find that even with a few years to perfect my short answer for them, I never really can explain the full meaning behind the word choice. It’s more of a flavor than anything else…

I applied for the skin project forever ago. i still havent heard anything yet. There are probably loads and loads of people now.

I read somewhere that over 10,000 people applied to be a part of the project, and there are only 2,095 words…
I might have seen that on her site in a section of statistics. She also mentiosn how many people’s emails she hasn’t responded to.
