The animal footprints I think emphasize why it’s so important to consider that in the future you may want much larger, fancier tattoos — be careful about getting small “starter” tattoos that could interfere in the future! The newer part of this particular backpiece was done by Carol at Tattoo Studio 81 in Manchester, UK.

To be honest, I’ve never been a big fan of large backpieces but this one is absolutely beautiful!

It seems to be that if she wanted to, she could cover up the feetsies with bats or something.

Absolutely — I imagine she preferred to keep them there.

I dig the layers of shadind from heavier lines to none at all to emphasize the softness of certain areas

I agree with ‘wish I were a dragon’, that the paw prints dont ruin the piece at all, it still looks stunning. At first I even thought that those paws belonged to the piece.

It’s not nearly as bad as the horror backpiece that had Felix the Cat on the shoulder.

very beautiful!.. I like the paw prints with the rest of the piece. But I can see how something else could have clashed.

Wow, this is my backpiece, i just googled carol and it came up. Glad everyone likes it but in relation to the footprints, they were my first tattoo and no matter how bad there look i will never cover them as i love them. They are a reminder of how far i’ve come in my tattoo journey. If anyone is thinking of getting work done by Carol, do not hesitate. She is a lovely lady and a fantastic artist!
