  1. i love japanese and koi tattoos. i dont know what it is, but the style is just great in this and i really love how its dark and heavily lined. very nice. and a beautiful girl as well.

  2. am i the only one noticing how poorly done and uneven the shading is on the bottom ends of the swirly things? D: it makes me the wonder if the one line going over the koi was intentional. but the linework on the koi is great though.

  3. i’m not talking trash, haha it’s just an observation. i actually think the majority of it looks great, particularly the koi and the waves. i just guess shading’s not that artist’s forte.

  4. Very nice work, but I think that she should accept the pain and go back for some color, it is without OUMPH

  5. I think it’s really quite beautiful, especially against her pale skin, like somebody mentioned.

I wonder if somebody could explain to me why so many people have koi tattoos though? I’ve heard all about the symbolism and I know it means something different for every person, but I still can’t put my finger on why they are so extremely prevalent. Thanks.

  6. real nice. that shading over the tail is what makes this koi so much more striking…

  7. I have to agree with Lola’s comment. It’s a nice start but it doesn’t look quite complete. It does look pretty fresh (first sitting?) and I’d love to see what it looks like finished.

  8. I think it looks great in black and white on this lady, even though colour might suit other people better.

  9. There’s nothing wrong with the shading; it looks very well done to me. Gives it definite depth. I seriously doubt it’s meant to be solid black.

  10. the tattoo is acually still healing and a bit flaky, noting wrong with the shading.
    And it’s in color now
