Nine “Not Too Horrible” Hours of Outline

Brenda‘s backpiece, which as far as I know is autobiographical — the story of her life so far — is going to look psychedelically hilarious when it’s all coloured in. I can’t wait to see it! It was done by her boss Chris Howton at Cynical Tattoos in Northport, AL where she pierces.

  1. wow, nice job. i bet that took a while to sketch out. makes you feel pretty badass when you can sit like a champ for so long. i sat for 6 hrs a few weeks ago while coloring in a part of my sleeve… was kinda rough!

  2. Thank you so much for all the comments! I love it and I’m glad to see that other people feel the same way. Chris has an IAM page too. He is Myself on there. If you want to see more updated work by him check out We don’t really update the other website that much.

My life is complete now that I have been Modblogged! Thank you Shannon!

  3. friggin cool!
i cant wait to see this finished… i’d imagine it’ll be awhile though.

  4. “Wow, that’s cool, and slightly weird, seeing as how my Rural Sociology class was talking about Northport today.”
Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy? This place is noted for nothing but being adjacent to a football town.

How did I not notice the town where I live and the shop where I was pierced? Wow, very impressive stuff! I need so much more money before funds can be allocated to body art but it’s absolutely great to see that there is a quality artist working down the road, so to speak. Thanks for posting this.
