How do you stop a runaway bride?

Simple.  Propose to her when you’ve got a hold of the rope connected to the big metal hook in her chest.

When IAM: Trinket‘s boyfriend proposed to her, that’s exactly what he did.

As the story goes, Trinket decided it would be a fun afternoon to take her boyfriend to Hangman Suspension‘s 3rd annual Twisted Cedars event.  Little did she know that when she was in the middle of a pull, her boyfriend had planned some fun of his own.  As you can see by the picture, he made sure that there was no way for her to run away when he dropped to his knees to propose.

Luckily for him, Trinket said yes, and they now have a moment they can “hang” on to for all time.  The image below shows the exact moment he proposed, “suspended” in time for everyone to see.  (I apologize for my horrible use of puns.  I don’t know what’s with me today.)

proposal

I’m sure this isn’t the first time this happened.  How did you propose/get proposed to?  Or even better, how would you propose to your significant other?  And I don’t subscribe to the school of thought that says the guy HAS to be the one to propose, so ladies, how would you do the deed?

  1. I Propposed to My wife on my mom and dads 25th wedding anniversery. all our friends and
family where there and i got here quit by surprise.

  2. Aww, that’s cute.

My track record of getting people to go out with me is slightly weird and not in the least romantic so my proposal would probably be along the lines of ‘fuck it, let’s get married’ or some kind of demand…

  3. Not sure of how I’d propose, but I did once ask someone out by writing a message on parchment, sticking that in a glass bottle, and sending that to her house by mail.

  4. I tell everybody that this is how I want to be proposed to. So excited to see someone actually did it. So adorable.

  5. That’s adorable. I love this picture.

Also I have the same boots as the guy in the back holding the camera and the other girl.

  6. I’d like to be given a finger-sized CBR for engagement/wedding ring, with a gem in the bead or something. I’m sure someone out there has already done it, but I like the idea of it.

  7. This is adorable. I saw once on the show Miami Ink (guilty pleasure) of a client getting one of the tattoo artists to place a stencil around the tattoo he got that said “Marry me (her name)??” I thought that was a cute idea. If I were to propose to my boyfriend I’d like to use an unlikely situation like that, something really unexpected.

  8. I proposed to my boyfriend whilst very drunk on Feb 29th in a leap year, since thats when girls are traditionally supposed to propose. He said no, probably for the best!

  9. Aw, thanks! It was pretty unexpected and his timing couldn’t have been better.

Also, there’s a period at the end of my name so that’s the wrong link.

  10. that’s adorable…. i proposed during a double suicide suspension. she got so excited she passed out!!! it was cute

  11. My husband preposed to me on our 2 year anniversary. He gave me a box of cereal as a gift, he hid the engagment ring in the box of cereal 🙂
