Birds!

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

Brian sent in a new photo of his most recent works our of Pure Body Arts in Brooklyn, NYC. I have to admit, this brings up scary memories of that bird movie where the birds all go crazy and peck people to death. Cover you eyes! After you get a peak at this photo of course!

Dabbled In Blood

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

Hey, anyone in the mood for a double-Decker? We first published fresh photos of Heather’s hand back in those heady days of summer, but now, several months into the healing process, here’s a clearer idea of what the result is likely going to be. Clean, subtle—in our estimation, pretty much ideal for a hand scarification piece. Lovely stuff.

Coming To Austin, Texas: Brian Decker!

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

If there are two things we enjoy above almost all else, they are cephalopod-related body modifications and warm corned beef sandwiches. If we were to add a third item, though, Brian Decker would probably make the list, seeing as he never fails to provide us with awe-inspiring tentacled monsters (though this one was mostly designed by the lovely Candace. In exchange for his contributions to the canon, we’ll pass on the word that Mr. Decker will be in Austin, Texas, at the end of this month, starting around October 20, and he is taking appointments! Visit him on IAM or at Pure Body Arts to set something up. Just do it already.

Split Ya Guts

Saturday, September 5th, 2009

As we have made mention of many times in the past, ModBlog exists, if for no other reason, than to bring you, the handsome and erudite readers, the very finest in cephalopod-related body modification. Well, here we have a jaunty little octopus, cut into place by Brian Decker at Pure Body Arts in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Mr. Decker is currently gallavanting around Berkeley, California, doing whatever it is people do there (smoke medical marijuana and hate America), so feel free to get in touch with him if you are in the market for his particular brand of pain-infliction.

Enjoy your weekend and your Raekwon, folks!

Wave To All My Friends

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

And we’re back! Apologies for the sporadic nature of our fair ModBlog over the past week, but it was worth it, we promise. We’re still trying to get settled and kick the terrible disease we contracted on the flight back to the wintry north, but in the mean time, here we have Timothy’s new bonsai tree cutting by The Thunder From Down Under (And Sometimes From Above), Wayde Dunn in Calgary, Alberta. Tim’s other side is similarly adorned with a bonsai tree cutting by Brian Decker, so it goes without saying that that is one formidable torso he’s got there. And the scarification pieces are pretty nice too! Zing.

Meat And Mass

Monday, July 20th, 2009

Our old pal Brian Decker has been getting quite a bit of play on our hallowed pages here lately, but man alive, he has just been on a tear the past little while, has he not? Last week we saw some impressive implant work from him, and now he checks in with this gorgeous “Arabic henna style” cutting on the hand/wrist/forearm of Heather, who we just saw the other day as well, covered in blood or something equally great. And, of course, we’ve got a few more shots after the jump, because that’s how we do it around these parts.

Sweet Lincoln’s Mullet

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

Last week, we mentioned Nae’s gigantic silicone hand implants by Brian Decker and, apparently, ’tis the season, since the lovely Cour has checked in with this shot nicely displaying her very well-healed anchor implant by none other than Mr. Decker himself (previously, albeit slightly more obscured). And hey, if this sort of thing is up your alley, don’t forget to book an appointment with Brian for his trip to Columbus, Ohio, from July 29 to August 4. It’s just a good idea, alright?

The Funk of Forty Thousand Years

Thursday, July 9th, 2009

When Andy sent in this zombie Michael Jackson tribute (?) portrait, it was accompanied with the ever-present, “Too soon?” Now, under normal circumstances, sure, getting a tattoo of a recently deceased celebrity as a hideous member of the walking dead may be in poor taste, but hey, Michael Jackson was arguably most famous for a video in which he appeared…as a zombie! If anything, this is how he would want to be memorialized! (Maybe not.) At any rate, our initial clinical reaction was, No, this isn’t too soon. Get yer MJ zombie on with impunity and a clear conscience, folks!

Oh, right, and then we noticed his right hand. You are going to Hell.
