I am the squirrel of doom! Fear my power!

I’m not sure if she’s escaping to Chicago or somewhere else because I don’t recognize the orange tag so I don’t know where she’s traveling between… Anyway, you either think my caption is very clever or it makes no sense? This (still incomplete) yggdrasil tattoo is by Tattoo Jack at My ID in Pewaukee, WI. You can click for a better view of the tattoo.

  1. The reference is to Ratatosk a squirrel that lives on Yggdrasil and runs up and down the tree carrying insults from the eagle at the top to the serpent at the bottom and back. I love any norse tattoo and this is a pretty cool one. I hope you get (and post) a photo of this when it’s completely done.

I find norse mythology to just be so much fun I’m actually working on a sculpture right now with Yggdrasil and Odin (even relates to body mods because it’s a suspension).

  3. That orange tag is the ‘HEAVY’ sticker for overweight bags. The destination tag on the top handle (ORD) is for the Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

  5. I have to admit, I googled the title and came up with a reasonabe explanation – clever indeed.

  7. Heeey, Yggdrasil! I work at the Yggdrasil Urban Wildlife Rescue in Oakland California, and we specialize in squirrels and other small furry babies! We’ve got quite the surplus now, but we do accept drop offs, even those in uncomfortable looking positions 😉
