In my opinion, if someone goes to a tattoo studio that doesn’t even know how to spell the word “tattoo”, they probably deserve the shitty tattoo that will likely result.

I laughed at that. But not as hard as I laughed at this ad, found in a South Florida weekly paper.

ah i’ve been pierced here. Wern’t very friendly, but I have to admit my snug piercing was very well done.
Never went back tho cos the atmosphere was shit

The ad is worse, but man, that’s a bad sign. Even if it was the sign company’s mistake, I’d cover that shit up ASAP.

Wait, so hottie’s get free tattoos and piercings then?
I wish people would stop apostrophizing the word “tattoo.”

God, I’ve been past that shop more times than I remember and I nevcer noticed the mistake… I agree with Pippa though, I went int to ask about a jewellery change and they weren’t exactly forthcoming.

Buyer beware? (go to archive november 2005)
Another place, another history…
I’ll hope we won’t go to this example in my contry….

i’ve been past that studio a billion times (never been in, i get pierced at cold steel just down the road) and i have never noticed the spelling mistake! i don’t think it’s on thier flyers but i will have to check now!
Posted on 12-23-2005 04:46:09 by Scyph
joker,
They have different spelling mistakes on their fliers!
Posted on 12-23-2005 08:03:08 by volatile
That shop is awful. Atrocious. Their work is dreadful. And yeah, they have different mistakes on their flyers.

And those bastards did shitty things to Andre Fernardes!! They sucks!!
Posted on 12-23-2005 09:22:37 by glider
Oh, right, I totally forgot that was the shop that completely fucked him over when he was guesting there!
Posted on 12-23-2005 13:35:41 by Alkaline_fairy
I’ve been passed there about 10 times in one day and never noticed…
Me and a mate went in to ask about an inverse navel and they didn’t seem to take us seriously. Ok, we’re teenage girls and it was a navel piercing but c’mon, we’re also way hardcore.
😀

I think someone that is trying for people to go to their shop should take care of those small things that a lot of people look at…
Personally I would never get pierced in a place like that………

i got pierced there and the ppl were really friendly and were lovely but the jewellery they put in was slef bent and scratched so i had to go get it changed. that said the actual piercing was grand and the bar was a good fit.. just scratched..

There’s a shop near me called “Boodamonk Hip Hop tattoos” and I consider that to be almost on par with the one you’ve shown here. It scares me that there are people that really don’t pay attention to spelling, and that those people still have jobs that require spelling! Also, whoever made that sign should have, like, said something.
Posted on 12-23-2005 22:37:13 by BadlyDrawnGirl
hah , they ran out of room. they couldnt fit the extra O in.
Posted on 12-24-2005 00:11:57 by mitch
hah, looks like it’s spelled correctly in the sign on the left. odd.
Posted on 12-24-2005 01:40:38 by joshua
you’d think boodamonk would *have* to be done on purpose.

Astrosnik – ‘hotties’ shouldn’t be apostrophised either 😉
And it’s *sed not *zed…It’s our language, give it back! 😉 🙂

Ahahahaa! I know one of the piercers there, and she is as terrible as that spelling. Some of their piercing work has turned up at my studio, and it’s not the best. Its a shame Malc Kent is working there tatto(o)ing, as he’s pretty good.
Posted on 02-18-2006 20:44:23 by THE DONGER NEED FOOD
BLows my mind how much bad work is still being done (AND even featured even HERE on BME!)
I’d reccommend to SHannon to make a gallery of Bad tatts but that may offend the artist and subject alike…but then again YES if you’re a cheap jackass you WILL get EXACTLY what you deserve as an indelible reminder of a “What the fuck was I thinking?”
Posted on 03-19-2006 23:00:35 by boy
i got pierced there – it was very expensive (£30 for a labret), and when i went back about 6 months later to ask about replacement jewellery, they were very rude (more concerned with looking after the baby they had in the studio)
Posted on 05-17-2006 16:11:54 by cour
i wouldn’t go in there for JUST the look of he shop. it seems to have no door, so there’s probably shit floating around all over and as much as they claim to be sterile and stuff, i wouln’t trust it from a shop that looks like a back-alley shop

they arent bad piercers – but as its been said not the warm welcome you’d expect from a place wher eyou go to get holes poked into ya!

laurenorder – I disagree, most places like that are bad piercers. At least they managed to spell everything right on their sign.

I’ve had both a piercing and a tattoo done at eclipse, and yes, they’re not very friendly but to those who think their tattoos aren’t good, mine is gorgeous as hell and they even re-drew the design the way I wanted it before I got it done. The spelling mistake can probably be attributed to the fact that they’re non-native English speakers (they’re Dutch).

ive had a piercing there, it hurts quite a bit and i think its infected but is all good. im gonna get a tattoo there soon. the ppl were actulaly q nice. maybe u should try talking to them.
the spelling mistake was blaits cos they dont speak english that well. plus, u dont really need to know how to freaking spell to give someone a piercing/tattoo.

i disagree that people are saying these people are crap. they are foreign and you can’t expect everyone to be an ace speller. a person’s spelling is no reflection on the quality of their artwork or their piercing abilities. i’ve been there. they are friendly, helpful people who sorted out my snug piercing really nicely.
and also, not all people are suited for all piercings. i know not one single person who has had completely successful hip piercings. i guess some surface piercings just aren’t meant to be?

As others have said, the guys there are Dutch and Polish which explains the spelling mistake. The place is actually really clean and they do good work – I got my tattoo done there, it was my own design and they did a good job with it.

actually the tattoo guys have completely nothing to do with the flyers, so it doesnt matter where they`re from

They had to leave out an “O” in tattooing so they could spell piercing right lol.
