I remember being about 6, and my sister was 3. My dad always had worn a full beard. One night he decided to shave it all off. I remember vividly how extremely upsetting this was to both me and my sister. We burst into tears and were scared to go near him for probably a few days.
“How’s life treatin’ ya, Satan?”
“Oh, you know. Same as always.”
“Yep.”

my dad had a hardcore beard for the first 10 years of my life too… when he shaved it i wasnt scared or startled at all in that way, but i was reeeally surprised how young he looked without all the hair on his face.

My dad has always had a beard and just recently I convinced him to let me shave it into a goatee. After some negotiating I won. Kinda scary at first because I was the one shaving it but all in all it turned out just fine.
