Another IAM Server Status Update

OK, first I want to again confirm and emphasize that all of the data on the machine is both backed up and currently undamaged. The server has been pulled out of the cage now to try and figure out what component has gone bad (I honestly have no idea at this point). It’s at the shop now, and I anticipate talking to them at about 4:30 EST at which point I will post another update here. It will surprise me if they get the machine back to me today but they understand it’s a priority and I hope to have it back online tomorrow. Here’s the view that I stared at for most of the morning while I was running various tests:

In a worst case scenario we’ll put together a new machine from scratch tomorrow and transplant the drive array.

  33. i’ve just been cruising through the wiki. well IAM is blocked at work anyway, so modblog and the wiki keeps me entertained! But when I get to a net cafe, i hope it’s back up and running!

    Because MySpace is de Debil!!!!!!

    1. If the server problem part is found today, it gets ordered, put in tomorrow, and no problems, bringing us back online tomorrow.

    2. If the server problem part is found today, it gets ordered, put in tomorrow, and requires a reinstall that gets us back online tomorrow or Saturday depending on the complexity.

    3. If the server problem part is NOT found today, I build a completely new server tomorrow and reinstall everything around it. This gets us back online probably on Saturday (and leaves me a nice server to put something new on).
