The Hammer of the Gods

“Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of… Thor”

Scar by Gabor Zagyvai from Budapest, Hungary.  If you look close you can see that this isn’t actually a skin removal scarification.  Gabor only used single lines and cross hatching to obtain the look he was going for.  And you can’t go wrong with using a minimalistic style when recreating an image from a stone carving.

Two for one

I did some digging and from what I can tell, we haven’t featured scalpelled nipples on ModBlog since 2008.  According to Gábor (IAM: Wyrd) the nipples were scalpelled to 6mm.  On top of the nipples, Gábor also did the tattoo on the back of the client’s hand.

Last month’s BMXNet conference has come and gone and we’re starting to get photos sent in from the attendees.  If you don’t recognize the fellow below, it’s because you normally see his work and not his face here on ModBlog.  That’s Gabor Zagyvai (IAM: Wyrd) right after getting a facial scarring by none other than Ron Garza.

The Friday Follow-up: The Ear Edition

Alright, so this isn’t a scar, but it is a follow-up to a post from a month ago, so hopefully it makes up for not having a scarification follow-up today.  To start with, let’s take a quick look at the original, which was a cartilage removal done by Gabor Zagyvai.

So it’s been a month, here’s how it looks today.

From what I can tell it looks like it’s healed up almost perfectly.  There were some comments about putting in heart shaped jewelry, but even without the jewelry it’s looking fantastic and can easily be shown off without anything in it.

Wooo-Whoooo

Alright, that’s a horrible owl headline, I can admit that.  It’s a good thing that Gabor‘s latest owl is the exact opposite of horrible.  I like how his minimalist style is still evident even though it isn’t exactly a minimalist image. You can see what I mean by checking out his BME tattoo portfolio gallery.

The Friday Follow-up

Today’s follow-up is a simple design that has had some impressive results after healing.  A few months back Gabor Zagyvai carved this heart into a client.

And here’s how it looks today.

Now obviously it’ll still change over the next year or so, but right now it’s looking pretty damn awesome.  Especially for those of you who like dark and raised scars.
