Floral Foot and Leg Sleeve
Wow, that’s really nice — I especially like the carved wood girl at the top left. Doll‘s “little bit of paradise” was done by Bryan Turnbull at TCB Tattoo Parlour here in Toronto, Canada.
Arm Nipple Piercing
Earlier this year I posted a photo of an unusual piercing (a nub on the end of an incomplete arm) that I really liked. I had meant to post an “in context” photo much sooner, but better late than never. I’ll say again that I’m always really happy when people have fun and take control of a part of themselves that others have likely given them a hard time about (that said, I am guessing this piercing is no longer in place)…
The Blood Scarf
I got an email recently about an art project by Laura Splan (a very interesting medical/body fine artist) that I thought was worth sharing here. This piece is a scarf knitted from surgical tubing, which is colored with — and I suppose alive to due to — the wearer’s own blood.
Chinese Portrait Tattoo
This great tattoo was done by “W” of Yao Zhan Tattoo (“Cut Waist Tattoo” — a kind of execution in China) in Bai Huai, Xiao Zhai, Xi’an, Shanxi, China.
Pendant Piercing
Steve Truitt at Stay Gold Tattoo and Body Modification in Albuquerque did this piercing back in May (it’s fresh in these pictures) using an in and out barbell (like a surface staple bar but with a few extra bends) so that the customer could attach his pendant to the centre of his chest.
Professor Booty Promo
I’ve been saving this photo to use to promote Professor Booty when it finally relaunches (don’t ask as what; I don’t know yet), but enough time has passed that I think it’s time to take this tattoo by Dusty Donnay off the shelf and post it.
Moustache AND goatee tattoo
Mohawk and lip piercings
Medusa and vertical labret by Alex at Red Rocket Tattoo in New York City. I don’t know why, but I really like this photo. I think it reminds me of good times back when I worked in a studio or something…
Action or Inaction?
You can see the full detail pictures on BME and on Mouthsores‘ page, but Mana’s chest piece by Travis Bracht at Spirit Garden Too in Northfield, MN is a coffin that says, “If you don’t live for something, You die for nothing”. I don’t know if that’s true or not (although especially in tattoos I hear it a lot); some people have suggested that the exact opposite is closer to the right way to think of life.
