Science!

There are many different kinds of geeks in this world.  You have your film geeks, lit geeks, video game geeks, and many many more.  You also have your nerds.  Granted over the past few years those terms have become pretty interchangeable.  There is one kind of geek that doesn’t get a lot of attention, and that’s science geeks.  We’re not talking about scientists that are into star wars, but rather people who just love science because of how cool it can be (to them).  Now my science knowledge isn’t the greatest, so when I first saw this tattoo I had no idea what it was of.  Thankfully Wikipedia was kind enough to explain just what a phylogenetic tree is.  Elcerdo here got his noggin tattooed with a phylogenetic tree “for the first abstract publication on bioinformatics”.  I’m sure some of our science inclined readers can explain it a lot better than I can.

This science geek tattoo was done by Bobby T. from Black Lotus Studio in Findlay, OH.

Waking the Winds

Let’s kick this week off on a fun note with this tattoo of Link from the gamecube Zelda game, The Wind Waker.

This game has the distinction of being one of the few Zelda games I never finished as the thought of spending hours digging up maps from the bottom of the ocean to give to a really annoying character in a green suit drove me batty.

Rockets and Love

Christina sent in her latest tattoo by Diego from Graceland Tattoo and Body Piercing in Wappingers Falls, NY; a very valentines inspired rocket.  World of Warcraft fans will instantly recognize it as the “Big Love Rocket”, one of the many ways to fly around the world.  Nothing says love like riding a big pink rocket.

You can see the love rocket in all its glory in the hearts and love tattoo gallery, although it could easily be placed in the geek tattoo gallery as well.

The ‘gate

I’ll admit that I’m not much of a Stargate nerd, beyond the film I didn’t really watch any of the shows, so my knowledge of the expanded universe is limited.  However, someone who does know her Stargate is Zobro, seen below showing off her steampunk inspired Stargate chest piece.

You can get a better look at it in the geek tattoo gallery.
