Shawn O’Hare (Charlies House of Tattoos and Body Piercing, Camarillo CA) did this intense piercing over two years ago and it seems to be doing fine… Back in the early nineties, the APP ran a series of articles telling people that these piercings could lead to liver infections (they went through a conservative phase) — luckily that worry seems to have been an empty one!
i was just away to say wouldn’t that cause an inwards traveling infection before i read the story… looks pretty cool!
There’s potential for an inward traveling infection that penetrates into the abdomen but really, I’d think that risk was pretty low. The liver infection thing seems rather unlikely too. Navels like that tend to be significantly scarred, meaning it’s hard to penetrate tissue for bacteria (hard to treat an infection should it happen too). I’ve seen these done many times and not seen a problem, but then, you never know. Has anyone a link to the old article?
It was in an ancient article of THE POINT. I’m not sure if they ever got posted online but I think they did somewhere.
would that hurt more than the standard?
That is the most potruding “outie” I’ve ever seen. But its cool the piercing’s doing fine.
it looks really neat! I’ve never personally seen that much of an outie before, but the piercings looks to be doing fine
my friend has an outie and she wants to do surgery on it, but I keep thinking she should pierce it
Ow.
I rarely say “ow” but “ow!”
thats the only things that POS shop did that worked. Last time i was there i played hide and seek with the autoclave. it won
Looks like someone in the delivery room fudged up a little bit…?
But!
