While it’s true that dynamic rigging does adjust somewhat for motion, Neek pretty much would have to hold that pose the whole time to keep the weight distributed in this forearm suspension… Well, might as well kill two birds with one stone and get his workout done at the same time! So I’m watching Daily Planet on the Discovery Channel and there’s a neat feature on these cool little microsatellites being developed at MIT’s Space Systems Lab under Dr. David Miller. Basically they’re like those little balls that float around space stations in Star Wars; very small and capable of highly precise motion. Anyway, they cut to the lead scientist, Alvar Saenz-Otero, and it caught my eye because he’s quite heavily pierced:
Among other things he’s got a bridge piercing, which is also known as the “Erl Piercing”, although that name is not that common these days. The name comes from the first person to popularize the piercing, Erl Van Aken, also known as one of the scientists that developed the lunar rover for NASA… Anyway, even if OfficeMax won’t hire visibly modified people, MIT and NASA (and in this case, DARPA) certainly don’t mind if you’re good at what you do. Personally I’d rather work for NASA than OfficeMax.

I think that’s a Sprung or mandible piercing (boy, that encyclopedia entry needs to be updated — it’s a wiki, so feel free!) on this customer of Nickk Leading (Perforations, Denver CO), done using a three or four inch piece of tygon. Intense piercing!

Mattay, if you’re reading this, please upload a video of how these eyebrow batwing tattoos move with different facial expressions to YouTube and post a link… They look great and I’d love to see them “in person”.
3/4″ lobes, a monroe, a septum you can’t see, and an awesome set of antlers as a chestpiece… I really like the way the tattoo comes up and wraps like a collar; it’s very pretty.

Some people have told me this really wouldn’t hurt very much to do and might be kind of fun if you’re in the right mood. I beg to differ. Seriously, I think if I had the choice of nailing my toe to a board or nailing my nutsack to a board, I’m going with nutsack every time… For no good reason toe skewering really freaks me out!
Jonathanpiercing just sent in my favorite tattoo in a while, his body modification themed sleeve (love the gnarly split tongue and amputations!), in progress by Jee Sayalero at Freak Family in Illescas, Toledo (Spain). He’s a great artist (back in November I posted a tattoo pinup girl he tattooed) that does the convention circuit as far as I know, if you’re interested in work.
