They’re in my Raccoon Wounds

I don’t know why Keegan insists on doing tattoos that make me want to jump into a blazing hot shower and never, ever leave, but, um, thanks.

  1. Hahahaha Keegan, thats his own hand too I do believe!! I see his patch sleeve.

but ugggh bugs give me the creeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeps!

  2. I think its a reference to the film “Un Chien andalou” in which ants come pouring out of a hole in someones hand…

  3. Aww Joanna you beat me to the comment about Family Guy.
I’d think twice about shaking that guy’s hand.

  4. I WAS thinking Dali actually, this animation he did with Walt Disney specifically, about 3:20 in. It’s quick though. I saw it at an exhibition in London.
My facebook profile has my whole portfolio if you’re interested.
I’ll upload some pictures once it heals, I wasn’t sure how it would heal so I thought if I made the ants look kind of half drawn it would all work out.
    Modblog’s great.

  5. …and I am JUST about to watch it. Just finished Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance not too long ago.
    Anyway…….nice tattoo?

  6. Dali was my inspiration for this piece, although mostly I really just like bugs. A couple people said Un Chien Andalou, but Destino, an animation Dali did with Walt Disney, was the first film that gave me the inspiration.
I only gave some of them legs because I wasn’t really sure how it was going to heal, so I thought if I did a sort of half finished style it might sort of even out if it faded.
Also ‘Ants’ by Dr. Octagon is a good song.

  7. Hah, I’m totally distracted by the Sobeys ‘Compliments’ bag, yay for Atlantic Canada.

  8. I was fortunate enough to see Destino at the Tate Modern, London a few years back, it really is a stunning film. Gorgeous tattoo, very effective
