Tell ‘Em I’m Lost on the Sidewalk

My former life as a retail photographer notwithstanding, I really know nothing about cameras. According to my nonpareil powers of deductive reasoning, however, I’m going to go out on a limb and say this is a nicely rendered Pentax ME (thanks, Internet!), worn by young and talented photographer, spuget, and tattooed into place by Jason Garza from Flaming Dragon Tattoo in Tacoma, Washington. Always nice to see tattoos ideas borne out of a real passion for something.

  1. Wow! Thanks everyone! That was my first camera ever and it’ll never leave me now! 🙂

  2. Sick 🙂
When I turn 18 I’m getting mirrored hasselblads on my lower stomach, ala the stereotypical ‘thug life with guns’ tattoo

  3. Also! This was taken directly after the needle left my skin. This tattoo took 3 sittings. He did the outline on the first sitting, shaded the body of the camera and the strap on the second, and the third sitting was dedicated purely to the lens and all the detail involved in it. Overall, this tattoo took about 9 hours to complete. I couldn’t be happier with it. My only complaint is that it is on my back and I can’t look at it more often! I am really glad everyone likes it so much. All the credit obviously goes straight to Jason, my amazing artist. You’ll definitely see more of his work on my body in the near future for suuuuure! 🙂

  4. O I like that one. Good detail and it really pops. I’ve been seeing a lot of these lately, but back when I was searching for reference images to show a tattooist in my town a 4 years ago. I had the hardest time finding people with camera tattoos.
Here is the finished product though.

I’m in all honesty happy it’s a film camera and not a digital use for a year maybe two then toss type.

  5. Is this a scar cover-up or am I just seeing things? Looks like there might be one in the space above the “Pentax” logo…
