“Me with Grandparents”
Tattoo by Chuck Ewing at Chuck’s Custom Tattoos in Beaumont, TX. From the amputated fingers, I’ll suspect that grandpa worked with his hands in the days when workplace safety laws were a little looser.
If you don’t get why it’s grandparents rather than grandpa, it’s because the little hand is Rusty (who the tattoo is on), the big hand is “Pa”, and the wedding ring represents “Ma”.
“I Love McDonalds” Tattoo
I’m not lying when I share with you the fact that the caption for this tattoo, as submitted, was “ya, I like my job.” Hey, it’s from Orillia.
“Leave it to Peever” Tattoo
His last name is “Peever” — get it? Tattoo by Csaba in Zurich.
The Curse of the Name Tattoo
Tattoo legend has it that if you get a tattoo of a romantic partner’s name, or get a matching tattoo with them, that the relationship is doomed. This further before and after anecdotal evidence is by Curtis Richter at The Quillian in Allentown, PA.
I have three matching tattoos with ex-partners. Two dumped me, I dumped the other. I can’t say I won’t do it again, because I record my life with my body, and I don’t regret any of the tattoos in the least… But from everything I’ve seen, I’d suggest this curse applies in at least 80% of cases.
Two Sleeves; One additive, one subtractive
The Escher lizards on the left (their first tattoo by the way) are by Jim Judeikis at Saints and Sinners in Baltimore, MD. Thanks also to The Fog (also in a small group of artist that I’d consider the defining minds in the genre of skin removal) for the fresh floral piece on the right (see more in the Ryan Ouellette Scarification Portfolio).
One in the stink… emphasis on “stink”
Shocker tattoo by Kristoph at Dr. Jacks Ink Emporium in Omaha.
Two My Little Pony Tattoos
This isn’t the first time I’ve posted My Little Pony tattoos. I thought though that I should still share this one on thyA by Bammer in Vienna. I hope it delights you as much as it did my three year old daughter (no, she doesn’t read ModBlog of course, but I do show her tattoos I think she’ll like)!
What’s next, unicycles?
When I saw this tattoo from across the room I actually thought it was an antique syringe. But in truth this is on an extreme pogo enthusiast, with the tattoo by Turbo at Artkore Tattoos in Normal, IL.
Agent Orange Tattoo
Isidius writes, “three Agent Orange droplets, given to my father in Vietnam then passed on to me, my brother and my sister.” The tattoo was done by Amy at The Body Art Shop in — oh, no, not again — Adelaide, Australia.
