Flying Tampon

While searching through my emails to find something to write mean things about, I found this little gem from IAM:Skarekrow. It’s a humorous twist on the much overdone oldschool swallow. This piece won first prize for best small tattoo at the Swedish Tattoo Convention. I can see why.

Tattoo by John Lind at House of Pain in Norrtälje, Sweden.

PS. Want me to review your tattoo? Email it to me.

Assorted Trivia

Looks like the power outage in Los Angeles may have temporarily knocked Needled offline, so I guess the pressure is on me to make sure you have something to look at. How about this puzzle-piece picture of a skin removal that the “owner” had framed… two pieces of art for the price of one!

That piece is on/off BigDaddyIsaac in Oregon.

Then there’s VeganJarret… he really, and I mean really likes Star Wars. It’s certainly not unusual for me to see Star Wars themed tattoos, but it is very unusual to actually see the movie titles tattooed (done by Kris Roberts at Electra Art Tattoos in Corpus Cristi, Texas).

Speaking of tattoos that are unusual in theme or nature, while I do see “I love (whoever)” type stuff all the time, it’s not so common to see the opposite, so I was kind of surprised to see this “I DON’T LIKE JENN” tattoo… Perhaps it’s a clever pop culture reference, but if it is, it’s going over my head.

That said, it’s no I’M GONNA KILL YOU, RAY ROMANO. That one wins hands down.

Sweet!

I just got this from Matt Bruce who’s currently doing a guest spot over at Wingnut in Minnesota (who are all great BME contributors), and I just had to share it here:

This guy walked into the shop asking if we do cover ups, I say “of course,” and then he tells me I’m gonna laugh at the placement. I said “I doubt it,” but boy was I wrong!

As he takes off his hat, he reveals a large horrible forehead tattoo that reads “DUDE”. I just stood there amazed and said, “I gotta get my camera.” Apparently he was mouthing off at a party, passed out and woke up with this masterpiece. So I guess the urban legend is true… I am amazed he didn’t wake up in the middle of it.

He wanted to originally cover it up with the Miami Dolphins logo (apparently he doesn’t learn). He doesn’t want to pay the quote he got for removal for it, so he is gonna get a bit of light branding to lighten it up so it will be easier to cover. I can’t imagine why he just wont suck it up and pay for the removal but I guess this guy isn’t known for his good choices.

Goofball Tattoos

I like tattoos that make me laugh. On the left are Solanum‘s mexillant tattoos (signifying his profound love for burritos), done by Brett at PURE (NYC), and on the right is John’s tattoo done at Delicious Ink in Rockford, IL — he would like everyone to know that he is “very afraid of spiders”. Maybe that’s not really funny in and of itself, but that someone would be so petrified that they’d put a WARNING: NO SPIDERS logo on their arm cracks me up.
