I love this photo especially how she’s managed to co-ordinate her outfit, jewelry, hair color, and modifications. What a great way to round out a Monday.

BMEBoys of Summer
It’s been too long since we’ve had a gratuitous BMEBoy post, so here’s Joao Caldara and his cat Gaia relaxing in Rio de Janeiro.
Natural wonder
Yosemite Valley, to me, is always a sunrise, a glitter of green and golden wonder in a vast edifice of stone and space. – Ansel Adams

Event: Author and photographer Ina Saltz in NYC
I just received the following press release and I’m passing it along to you fair readers. Should you be in New York City, you may want to check this out. Please feel free to write in with any photos and your impressions of the event if you do check it out.
Ina Saltz on Tattoos, Flash Art, Intellectual Property Rights, and Insights Into the Art of Tattoos
Join author and photographer INA SALTZ for a behind-the-scenes look into the ever-expanding world of typographic or intellectual tattoos (including a sneak peek at images Ina is collecting for BODY TYPE 3!). Amazing photographs of those who have chosen to represent their deepest feelings with the indelible permanence of ink embedded under their skin will be shown, and the powerful stories behind the tattoos will be told. Ina has been documenting typographic tattoos since 2003, when she first spotted a tattoo of the word happy in lowercase, 120-point Helvetica on a graphic designer while traveling on a cross-town bus in New York City.

Unexpected surprises
Over the past year we’ve seen quite a few photos from Joey Pang and the rest of the artists from Tattoo Temple in Hong Kong. For the most part their art is either bold Chinese calligraphy, or something traditional. Which is why this photo caught me off guard. I’ve seen some of Joey’s abstract work before, but most of the time it was accompanying some other piece. I think this is the first one I’ve seen that sits apart from other pieces and it is beautiful.
On the hunt
We’ve seen examples of Gabor‘s minimalistic style a few times here, but I think this piece in particular really showcases his talents. When it comes to simplicity in art, you can’t get much simpler than cave paintings and petroglyphs.
However, to call this simple is a vast understatement. Cave paintings have been around for tens of thousands of years, and as art has progressed they have remained, permanently etched into the surface of the earth. Much like how this tattoo is permanently etched into this person. Gabor’s works have always had an element of the primal to them, and this piece brings it to the forefront. I can’t wait to see what he comes up with next.
Sleepless in Seattle
I think it’s a safe assumption that Pessimisaurus really loves Seattle.
I like that Andrea Ottlewski chose to go with a non-traditional skyline for this tattoo, instead choosing to highlight the natural aspects of the Pacific Northwest as well as the urban.
That’s not kosher!
One of my favorite, JAP’s (Jewish American Princesses) Hannah, sent me this cleverly ironic photo. I mean really, clamps? How un-kosher is that? Or wait, is that not where the implied irony is supposed to be?
She’s a unicorn
A wise man once told Siobhan that she must be a unicorn because he had never seen someone as perfect as her. Granted he was specifically talking about a couple of her assets, but she’s still pretty awesome. These photos in particular show off just how stunningly gorgeous she is, the second one in particular just screams “sultry vixen”. Her husband is one lucky guy.
Not surprisingly, she makes an excellent addition to the BMEGirls Gallery.
And here’s a peek at the assets in question.

Simple movement
Mr. Minimalist himself, Gabor Zagyvai, has been busy since the last time we saw one of his tattoos. Today we’ve got a couple of his newest pieces, both of which deal with movement. The first, which is entitled “Good-bye Hungary”, really showcases his artistic style when it comes to minimalism.
The second tattoo, while untitled, is a nice little take on a cheetah in motion.
