Torso Cutting
In this photo Evan is “fresh out of the into the cold painful air after five hours of agony” by Wes at Electric Chair in Riverside, CA.
“So I spent from one o’clock to six o’ clock getting cut. It was agony but well worth it. I did a lot better than I thought I would, but when it came time to clean me up that was a different story — green soap and a fresh cutting is worse than the cutting process itself. My whole body leaped from the table and I let out a horrendous cry of pain. Begging and pleading for it to stop hurting. This was the first time I cried over something physical in a while — not a tear during the cutting was shed (which surprised me), but after was different. It was a great experience for me. I had close friends all with me and felt very supported. Thanks for everything Mia, Christian, Dani, and most importantly Wes. You did an amazing job and this scar looks amazing.”
“Meatwad”
If you’re wondering what it’s supposed to look like… welllll… meatwad. Branding by James Raimar (BME scarification portfolio) at Old Town Tattoo — click through for a closer view.
Full Back Phoenix Cutting
Healed and fresh, on Skank, done by Lance Gremillion at Amillion Tattoos in Austin, Texas.
Scarification Kyoto Style
Quite a few of the scarification superstars (scars on ModBlog, scars on BME) have done Japanese tours, but there’s quite a bit of local talent as well. For example, these very clean cuttings were all cut by Bin in Kyoto, Japan at Body Piercing Studio Scamp.
Burn Courtney, Burn!
This explosive video is being passed around the internet like roasting coals at the moment, and I like to strike whilst the iron’s hot so here’s a quick follow-up with this awesome photo taken mid-burn by Stewy (and click through for a second shot taken two days later).
Are you cool enough for scars?
If you want to be at least Cool Ice-level cool, you need to hook up with Brian of Pure Body Arts for some cutting… I love these sunglasses he recently did! Anyway, he’s up in Toronto for BMEfest/ModProm, so drop him a line if your paths may cross here and you’d like to take advantage of the opportunity for some top-notch scarification (or heavier mods as well).
Healed Rib Tibettan Skull Cutting
I have mostly posted fresh fine-line cutting work. Here’s a great example of a well healed piece, done by John Lopez at Slave to the Needle in Seattle, WA. There are older pictures in the BME galleries and on his IAM page.
PS. My schedule opens up big-time later this week, so we should be back to our regular post orgy soon. I know it’s been a bit sporadic lately.
Eyebrow Accent Scars
These great looking (click through for a second photo) eyebrow skin removals were done by Marc at Swastika Freakshop in Bodensee, Germany — this was the first time he’d ever cut someone’s face (which I’m sure was quite stressful!) but it looks like it turned out perfectly.
#11 Scalpel Cutting
Independent of various debates as to what the right blade is, I’ve always identified the #11 blade with cutting in general, and it’s also been the most common symbol of the art form for a lot of other people I think. Urea from Brasil has the first one I posted (DIY), and this one in this entry was done by Ze at Tic Tac Tattoo in Milan.
