Digging in

We see a lot of play piercings here on ModBlog, but we don’t often see flesh stapling being used for play (or in this case a photoshoot).  The result of using the staples give these photos an amazing aesthetic, one that I don’t think could be easily achieved with play piercing needles.  You can’t see them in the first photo, but if you read on after the break you’ll see that the shoot did incorporate some play piercings with temporary CBRs to create the corset.

Keep on reading to see the other photo.

Scroll of Power

I can’t count the number of times I’ve called John Joyce a master when it comes to scarification, but it’s painfully obvious anytime you see one of his scars.  Clearly the client here is modifying himself not only through tattoos and scarification, but also through physical training.  Given the size of his arms, it’ll be interesting to see how this one heals up.  Normally arms are pretty easy to predict, but with someone who works out his arms on a regular basis, the movement will affect how the scar tissue forms.  Not to mention it’s done over black ink, so no matter how much the scar raises, it’ll still be noticeable against the blackwork.

Breathtaking

I first saw this photo a couple weeks back when IAM:PirrePirat posted it in the Suspension group on Facebook, and I’ve been waiting for it to turn up in the galleries so I could share it with you.  I pretty much love everything about this photo, from the girl to the suspension.  There’s another photo from this suspension is the suicide suspension gallery that you’ll want to check out.  It’s from a different angle and isn’t SFW like this one is.  If you can’t access the gallery, make sure you’re logged in with your BME account.

Keep your eyes on ModBlog today, this is just the first in a bunch of fantastic photos that were submitted over the weekend.

The Friday Follow-up

Well, it’s been two years since the very first Friday Follow-up post.  In that time we’ve seen some of the most incredible scars, and heard some remarkable stories.  The main purpose of the follow-up is, and always will be, to showcase scarification and branding beyond the first day.  Two years ago, seeing healed scars on ModBlog was pretty rare, mostly due to the fact that scarification takes so long to heal.  With a tattoo or piercing, then end result is visible immediately, and you have a pretty good idea of how it’ll look in a few months time.  With scarification taking so long, it’s no wonder that artists don’t have as many healed photos as they do fresh ones, so many things can happen over the course of a year that can make it difficult to get a new photo.  This is especially relevant to artists who tour, as they may not return to a location for a significant period of time.

The reason I’ve bringing all this up today is because when I was browsing the galleries I recognized a scar that I first featured two years ago, when it was still fresh.  In fact, it was also one of the very first Friday Follow-up posts that showed how it had healed after three months.  Now here we are today, two years later, and we have an opportunity to revisit a scar, and get a good impression of just how much scars can change over time.

To start with, here’s the original photo from August 2010.

And now the initial follow-up from November 2010.

As you can see, the keloids are raising up, and the scar has taken on a distinctive reddish tone.

And finally, here’s how it looks today, two years later.

Such a drastic change from the first follow-up.  The scar is clearly defined, and you can see how it has raised up more in the upper abdomen, as opposed to the lower, due to movement.  The biggest change comes from the colouration.  Over time the redness of the fresh scar has died down completely and has reverted to the original skin tone.  Some scars lighten the tissue over time, however it seems here that the pigmentation has almost completely been restored.

A big thank you to Gabor Zagyvai (IAM: Wyrd) for continuing to send in updated photos of the scars he has done.

In the Dark

Here’s an oldie but a goodie.  This scarification was done by Lukas Zipra back in 2002, three years before the first Scar Wars.  You can also tell the age by the environment, as you don’t see too many professional scarification artists these days working on someone with only a bedsheet between the client and the furniture.  The young lady in the photo is IAM: AstridVanD, formerly known as Dark Delilah.

A perfect fit

One aspect of modification that we don’t talk about a lot is the setting of goals.  Often we focus on pushing the limits, as that can yield some incredible results.  However for most of us, setting a goal and working towards it is a key element in our journey to reshape our bodies.  The reason I’m bringing this up is that one member of the community has just hit a goal that he set some time ago.  Kev_n has finally reached his goal size for his transscrotal, and although he neglected to mention the specific size, it’s clear that he’s been stretching it for a while.

Yeah, even with the blurring it’s still painfully obvious what the image is of, but you’ll still have to read ahead to see the unblurred version.

And there you have it.  Congratulations Kev_n for reaching your goal!

Guess What?

Just to give you some context before you make a guess, this is the first needle from a fresh box of play piercing needles.

Think you know what’s being pierced?  Read on to see if you’re right.

Admittedly this one was pretty easy to guess, although I can see where people may get confused and guess something other than penis.

You can see more in the CBT and Similar Play Piercing gallery.  And if you’re looking to pick up some fresh needles yourself, be sure to visit the BMEShop.  The shop itself is closed right now due to it being moved, but it should be back up and running really soon.

Rites of Passion

When it comes to spiritual suspensions, no team does it better than Rites of Passage.  Every member of their team has a passion for suspension that can’t be put into words.  Through their efforts, countless people have been able to suspend in some of the most beautiful spaces across the country.  Evan’s knee suspension is no different, and through the photography of IAM:xwinterhalox, we can get a glimpse of that experience.

Make sure to visit the knee suspension gallery to see more photos from this beautiful suspension.

All-in-one

Earlier in the week we saw a brief look at one of Scorpio’s torture inventions.  As promised, today you get to see the whole machine.  Now according to him this “fucks up everything in one go”.

I’m sure you can guess what body parts go in which spot, but why guess when we’ve got pictures!  Keep on reading to see how it all comes together once the electricity is hooked up.

It’s not visible in these photos, but it’s a safe bet you can assume where the big metal ball ended up.  For more photos, including the step-by-step on how he hooked himself up, check out the Scorpio Bonus Gallery.
