It is with deep sadness that BME announces the death of longtime member and friend Patrick Bartholomew, founder of London Piercing Clinic. Our most heartfelt condolences to all of his friends and family.

“2012 Classic Logo T-Shirt” Fundraiser
Hey Modbloggers, a member of the BME Family is ill and needs our help.
Ari Larratt is living with her mom, Rachel, in the US and has come down with some kind of illness that is making it hard for her body to digest food. As it stands right now, she’s going through a lot of tests to find out what is wrong, and the medical bills are already starting to pile up. Now because Ari is living in the US, everything is coming out of pocket from both Rachel and Shannon. The bills are already approaching $7000 and they still have yet to get a diagnosis.
So, to help raise funds for Ari, Shannon has designed a brand-new BME logo shirt. It’s going to be sold in the BMEShop for a limited time, with all proceeds going to Ari’s medical bills. The design itself is basically an updated take of Scott Fox’s original BME logo, mixed with the Calm logo, and incorporates modifications that weren’t around when the designs were originally created.
You can order the shirt right here. We’ve set the price of the shirt at $20, with the option to donate more if you wish. We’ll also be sending along a bunch of BME stickers in addition to your shirt, depending on how much you are able to give. But even if you aren’t able to give any extra, just getting one shirt will go to help a sick little girl get better.
Also, if anyone has any information on health insurance plans for children only, please get in contact with Rachel via the BMEShop e-mail address ([email protected]). Her insurance won’t cover Ari, so she’s looking for a plan that is just for children.

Come on down to BMEHQ
That’s right.. this new year’s eve you could spend it at home on the couch, watching Snooki get lowered in the giant ball, hoping ever so much that the ball malfunctions and plummets to the earth. Or you could come down to Richmond, Virginia and celebrate it with BME! It’s all about meeting new people, and catching up with old friends. Having fun as only BME knows how. Plus NYE is on a Saturday night this year, making it even easier to make the drive/fly to BMEHQ.
Fireworks, bonfires, food and drinks, suspensions, we’ll have it all. You’re more than welcome to bring your own food/drink as we’ll only be covering the basics (hotdogs, burgers, soda, etc). It’s just a short drive away from King’s Dominion in Virginia, which conveniently has a hotel right next door. So book a room now, or if you want to stay at BMEHQ you’re welcome to bring a tent, but remember it will be January. Last year was so much fun and the whole BME team is looking forward to seeing all of you there. We’ll put out more details the closer we get to New Year’s Eve, so start making those travel plans.
Oh, and here’s a picture of some ducks Tobias took at this summer’s BMEFest. You can see more photos in the BMEFest photo gallery.
Congratulations Sean and Rianne!!
Everyone here at BME wants to extend a big congratulations to Sean and Rianne Philips on the birth of their new baby girl Caliana Louise Philips. Caliana was born last night at 1:21am weighing 6lbs 13oz. Mom and baby are doing just fine and Sean promises to get us some pictures as soon as he can. For now, here’s a picture of Sean and Rianne when their son Sylas was born.
BMEtv – Lori St.Leone
Today’s video is one a whole lot of you have been waiting for. When the BME World Tour stopped in Darwin, there was one person that they just had to visit, the incomparable, the dazzling, the talented, Lori St.Leone!
In case you don’t know who Lori is, her BME Wiki entry goes something like this:
Lori St.Leone is known on IAM as: spikesandstuds, has been a BME QOD staff member since 2003, and owns and operates Vogue Body Piercing in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia.
Lori St.Leone began her piercing career in 1995 in her hometown of Anchorage, Alaska, and has been working at Vogue Body Piercing since 2001. Lori is extensively experienced in all aspects of body piercing (everything from lobes and eyebrows to genital projects), and she also offers services such as punch and taper method surface piercing, large gauge dermal and cartilage punching, lobe scalpelling, genital beading and newer techniques such as microdermals. She is the sole piercer working with the NT Department of Health to improve legislation in regards to body modification in the Northern Territory, and is strongly committed to constantly improving her techniques and the shop’s setup to conform with best practice available as the industry advances. Lori has an excellent reputation in her local community for her ethical and superb quality practice, as well as her friendliness and kindness, and often volunteers her time doing community outreach and education regarding body modification and related health concerns and issues.
Now this video was taken a while back, so some of the things you’ll hear about in the video are out of date. The most important one is that Lori is on her way to becoming a mom for the second time.
To check out the video, keep on reading!
If you’ve missed any of the videos so far, you can check out the rest of them in the BME World Tour Video Gallery
A BME family needs our help
A couple of days ago, tragedy befell two long time members of our community. A fire broke out at the home of Breeze and Ubuntu, two long time BME members and supporters, and completely destroyed their home. The family was able to make it out with the clothes on their back but everything else was lost. In addition to losing their home, they also lost all but one of their pets (2 dogs, 5 cats, a rat, and a ferret).
Breeze and Derek have helped a good number of BME members over the years, and today they need your help. There are a number of ways that you can help out. For starters, there is a facebook group that is being updated regularly by both friends and family. As I mentioned before, they were only able to get out with the clothes on their back, so donations of any necessities are more than welcome.
For those thinking of donating clothes, here are the family’s sizes:
Breeze
1-2 xs
Derek
Shoes 10
Pants 32 or 34 w 32 L
Med
Dakota
38 w 32 L xl shirt
Shoes 11
London
Shoes 7-8
Girls 14
Avery
Shoes 6
Boys 12
Breeze adds: “NEEDS: If anyone has any sort of extra luggage- suitcases, duffel bags etc… even if they are old as long as they are in usable condition, it would help to move the clothes and items we have received. Boxes would also help. It also occurred to me that we need to start cleaning up in the next week or so and to do that we’ll need shovels, rakes, garbage bags, work gloves…things like that. Thank you so much♥”
For those who are able to give financially, donations can be made via paypal to [email protected] Any donations there will go directly into the Dunham’s family chequing account. If you would prefer to send a check, they are currently staying here:
Breeze and Derek Dunham
3921 Lawndale Pl
Greensboro, NC 27455
That is also the address to send any physical donations.
At this point the family doesn’t have a lot, so any donation of anything, or amount, will be a big help.
I’ll try to keep this post updated with any specific needs the family may have.
BME Updates! BMEshop and BME New Year’s Eve Party!
Just wanted to share with everyone a bit of news regarding BMEshop, as well as this year’s BME New Year’s Eve party.
First up, BMEshop is currently in the process of moving. From Tuesday November 16th until Saturday November 20th, we will be driving all the way across country. From Sunday November 21st until Tuesday November 23rd, we will be unpacking and updating our inventory. We may be able to ship out some orders during that time but it is not guaranteed. From Wednesday November 24th until Sunday November 28th BMEshop will not be shipping orders so that we may celebrate Thanksgiving with our families.
BMEshop will remain available to take orders during this time but orders will not be able to be shipped until Monday November 29th. All orders placed during the period of Tuesday November 16th until Sunday November 28th, will be shipped on Monday November 29th.
Please remember that all proceeds from BMEshop go directly to supporting BME. Thank you for your support!
In case you haven’t been to the shop lately, here’s the stunningly beautiful itsssssBROOKE showing off the BME Calm Logo t-shirt.
Also, this year BME is having a New Year’s Eve party/BBQ! It’ll be taking place at the new BME headquarters just outside of Richmond, VA. The event page has all the details, including directions, as well as information regarding food, possible suspensions, and all sorts of activities. We’ll also be looking to interview people to feature on ModBlog in the coming year, so if you’re interested just let us know.
So if you don’t have plans yet, head on over to the event page to get all the details. If you do have plans, cancel them and come to the BBQ instead!
Boob or Nullo?
Well, if you take a look at the tags, you’ll already know the answer. Long time BME contributor Erebli sent in pictures from his latest project, in which he found a way to give himself a boob job.
For obvious reasons, you’ll have to keep reading to see the unedited version.
For those unfamiliar with Erebli’s works, you can see other examples of them here and here, as well as in his own BME gallery. This particular image came from the temporary male nullo gallery, along with the rest of the images in the series.
I know that Erebli reads ModBlog, so I’m hoping he’ll be around to answer questions like he has in the past. His art has become the benchmark for CBT, and he is always striving to push the limits of what his body can endure. In fact, he has yet to suffer any permanent damage from any of his modifications, including the time he barbecued his genitals.
I will ask that people be respectful with their comments, as BME is not just a site for piercings and tattoos, but all forms of body modification.
Happy Birthday Sean!!
Well in true ModBlog fashion, I’m posting a birthday announcement a day late. So help me out by wishing BME’s own Sean Phillips a very happy (and belated) birthday!
This handsome devil has been writing for ModBlog since last December, but his contributions to the community go well beyond his posts here. Recently Sean has taken his “What Would Sean Do?” act on the road and is taking questions from all comers. So if you’ve ever found yourself stuck in a situation that you just can’t figure out the answer to, there’s really only one thing to ask yourself: What would Sean do?
In fact, since Sean is in the spotlight today, why don’t we use the comments to not only wish Sean a happy 33rd birthday, but also ask him a question that needs answering. I’m sure he’ll be happy to help out.
