Lucky Thursday

OK… I like Thursdays, and I really like pretty girls with mods of all kinds. So that’s my plan here for today. If you don’t like it, Steve will smash a flourescent tube on you (and can I just say, wow, whoever’s on the camera — that’s some awesome trigger finger timing). Oh, and don’t worry overly hetero girls and overly homo guys… I will do a “Lucky BMEboy Day” soon as well.

Oh yeah, and it’s Phil‘s birthday today! He’s the guy that processes pretty much every single image that you see on BME and does an aweful lot of the work that keeps the site going. Happy Birthday Phil!

Peligroso! Chica Loca!

Speaking of cool modified people doing cool things, Rachel Larratt (as in the person who runs the business side of BME, as well as her own enterprises), is racing in this year’s La Carrera Panamericana, a 3000 km race across Mexico. She’s down there right now blogging the race (as well as plotting to dominate the first year of the Unlimited Class in her Lotus Elise) at www.mil0.com/blog — the sharp eyed will spot Coop and others you may know in her race/rally diary.

World Record Piercing Attempt

Steven Deerwood (who got the piercings) and Jeremy “Jay” Van Wert at Body Matrix, Inc in Bemidji, MN recently did this Guiness attempt — in all they did 2,507 piercings in six hours and fifteen minutes. I’m still waiting for someone to crack the old [unofficial] Berkeley 5000 record, but two thousand five-hundred piercings in six hours is quite impressive!

Modcon Street Team

I don’t know if the person who’s been spreading the good word wants to be outed; if you do, feel free to post in the forum. But I do have some ModCon news and I figured that this was as good a picture as any to post it with! ModCon V (which was originally planned for Venezuela, but we had to back off because of changes to Venezuelan law) will take place in Toronto in late March 2007. I’ll post full details in a week or two.
