Kipod Tattoo pt.4

Today we’re going to be taking a look at the works of Michael Kozlenko, one of the many talented artists from Kipod Tattoo and Piercing in Tel Aviv.  We’ve featured works from Michael before, as well as other artists from Kipod.  Over the course of today you’ll be able to see a small preview of some of the many works that can be found in the Kipod Tattoo Portfolio.

In the final post of today’s artist profile, we’ll take a look at one of Michael’s non-portrait works.

Like the rest of today’s images, Michael sent in multiple pictures, highlighting each element of the tattoo.  By heading over to the Kipod gallery, you can see all of the smaller details in this piece.

Flight of the Locust

When it comes to distinct styles, Ania from Szerytattoo in Poland has a style that just jumps right out at you.  If you remember back in January, I posted a fantastic octopus piece by her.  This time we have her interpretation of a locust in flight.  mOshpit_panda, the owner of the tattoo, made the trip to Warsaw specifically to get it done in Ania’s distinct style.

Ania doesn’t have her own portfolio gallery yet, so for now you can see this and some of her other works in the miscellaneous tattoo gallery.

Wild Swallow

When it comes to swallow tattoos, they’ve been around as long as modern tattooing has been.  It’s a traditional design, that has been re-interpreted many times over the past century.  Leave it to Fabrizio Divari to take that traditional design and throw it right out the window.  Instead he went for a realistic design that captures what I believe is a barn swallow in flight.

Fabrizio Divari works out of his own studio, Fabrizio Divari Art in Toronto.  You can see more of his works in his BME portfolio gallery.

An octopus in need of a garden

As amazing as the blue-ringed octopus looks, it is definitely not an animal that you want to mess with.  One bite from this bad boy can kill a person in minutes, there is no anti-venom, and it has enough stored up to take out over 20 people.  I for one welcome our new cephalopod overlords.

This particular octopus was done by Jeff Ortega from Evil From the Needle in London.

Remembering pastels

It’s said an elephant never forgets.  Whether that’s true or not, only the elephants will really ever know.  Now people on the other hand do tend to forget things, which is why they sometimes get permanent reminders in the form of tattoos.  This client of Jamie Santos from Scarab Body Arts will certainly never forget this elephant, which almost appears to have been created with pastel crayons.

Thrash Cat

Welcome back from the weekend everyone. To kick things off this week we’ve got a cat tattoo that would fit right in with an 80s cartoon show.  If the show were about punk cats.  “jjthejonplane” sent this in, and while I’m not sure if he’s the artist or the recipient, I’m guessing he’s from around Maryland, as “Shit Pit” and “Gorons” are both names of Maryland punk bands.

This particular tattoo comes from the miscellaneous tattoo gallery.

If you’ve got photos of any of your tattoos, or any other modifications, send them in to BME.  Don’t have a subscription yet?  Get a free one today.

Jellyfish Lips

The vast majority of lip tattoos that I’ve seen consist of a single word or initials in black ink, with the occasional small symbol added for emphasis.  Then there are the exceptions, just like this jellyfish lip that Jonas from Hayd Tattoo in Schramberg, Germany did.  For a location that traditionally is used with a minimalistic design, to see a full color piece is a great change of pace.

You can check out the full sized image, as well as more lip tattoos, in the lip tattoo gallery.
