Pollock Explosion

One of the most well known abstract expressionist painters is Jackson Pollock.  If you’re not familiar with his name, you’ll probably know him as the paint splatter guy.  Reed Leslie from The Hole Look in Anchorage, AK, sent in this interpretation of Pollock’s work.  From where I’m sitting it looks like it could have been done by Pollock himself.  The level of detail and thought that went into this is staggering.

This is just one of a couple of photos Reed sent in that can be found in the miscellaneous tattoo gallery.

I’m kinda lazy…

I used to spend my days perusing the BME image galleries searching for great content for modblog. Then Rob came along and lifted that burden off my shoulders, allowing me to focus on interviews and features that truly interest me.  However, Rob’s got a lot on his plate right now so I figured I should get back on board and stop being such a lazy tits……Then I realized I can’t even call myself “Lazy Tits” because apparently CarefuliBite has the trademark on that phrase, at least that’s what I gather from seeing her tattoo.

For love of ink

Of course no Valentine’s day on ModBlog can pass without a heart tattoo.  In fact, there is even a gallery dedicated entirely to hearts and love tattoos.

This burning heart was done by Ian Jones from Jonezy’s Traditional Tattoo Studio in Amherst, Ohio.  Ian actually sent in a pair of heart tattoos, so if you head over to the gallery you can check out the other heart, which is dedicated to knitters everywhere.

Smoking hot

To round out today’s posts here’s a stunning BMEGirl from my hometown of Toronto.

Kat here is a piercer at Ultimate Tattoo, the shop the photographer Dylan Leeder lives above.

While you can find this photo in several galleries on BME thanks to the new system of being able to tag modifications in a photo, the easiest place to find photos of all the BMEGirls is in the BMEGirl gallery.

Silent embrace

This week we’re lucky to have a couple of fantastic pieces added to the galleries from some of the many talented artists at Scarab Body Arts.  First up is a beautiful piece of what I assume is a recreation of a piece of art.  Of course I could be wrong, which has happened before.  In either case, the tattoo itself was done by Jamie Santos, who’s art you can check out in her BME portfolio gallery.

BMEGirl Bondage

This week’s Tuesday BMEGirl is Psylocke, who we’ve seen a few times before.  This time around, this BME beauty got herself all tangled up in rope.

To check out the full images, you’ll have to keep reading.

Rope by Don Sir, Photo by Patrick Ocampo, Hair by Jason Becker, MAU: Morgan Panter.  Tattoo by Linda Engström, No Fear Tattoo in Gothenburg, Sweden.

You can check out more photos of Psylocke and the other BMEGirls in the BMEGirl photo gallery.  There are also several other photos of her in the miscellaneous tattoo gallery.

She’s not a dummy

Last week we got a look an an octopus tattoo by Ania from Szery Tattoo in Warsaw, Poland.  Well this week we’ve got another artist from the same shop, Aldona.  The two tattoos below are just a small sample of the works that have been submitted by her recently, and each and every one is just as impressive.

The first is an abstract piece that incorporates a large birthmark on the owner’s arm.

The second is a piece that pays tribute to Salvador Dali.

Be sure to check out all the tattoo galleries for more examples of Aldona’s work.
