Movember Mourning

Well, this is the final Movember Monday post for the year.  It’s been a great month, and we’ve seen a lot of fantastic mustaches.  For some people the end of the month means a day to shave away that band of brilliance upon their upper lip, yet to others it becomes a point of pride, a light in the darkness, a place to grow not only an epic mustache, but a beard as well!  So while Movember is finished, Bearduary is just around the corner, so get those beards growing!

Now to celebrate the end of the month, lets take a look at one of the finest mustaches that has been submitted in the past month.  While I don’t know the name of the gentleman pictured below, I do know that the claw scars on his shoulders were done by IAM: Dark freak from Brazil.

I’ve started so I’ll finish

Growing up in my house we had a number of board games.  One in particular I remember was a game called Mastermind.  The game itself was fairly straight forward, and it involved guessing a sequence of colored pegs in a given number of rounds.  What always struck me as odd was the game’s box.  On the cover was an older gentleman with a beard sitting before a mirrored table with a woman standing behind him.  It probably was intended to evoke some form of James Bond villain scenario.  So seeing this picture of the lovely IAM: Jea made me think of that old game.  I’m sure some will argue but as awesome as dudes with beards are, I’d rather have Jea sitting across the table from me than some golden gun wielding nemesis.  What about you?

A better place to be

This photo really caught my eye. It looks like it could easily be a glossy advertisement for Jack Daniels in some fancy magazine. Diegosalomao (who submitted this) appears to be in a club that only the coolest folks go to and he’s sipping on some JD while looking super hot with his gorgeous sleeves. What was I saying again? Oh right, you’re welcome ladies (and some of you men).

He didn’t mention who did the tattoo work so we’re stuck just admiring the picture. Life is rough isn’t it?

Let me axe you something

I know, I cringe too when I hear someone “axe” a question.   Yet seeing this newest addition to the galleries from the incredibly talented Joey Pang (Tattoo Temple in Hong Kong), made me think of things that can be axed.  I know Joey normally does her own designs, yet for some reason I feel I’ve seen this before, or possibly some variation of it.  I’m sure some of the more astute ModBlog readers will be able to find it, if it is indeed an adapted design.

Keep an eye on ModBlog this week for more of Joey’s work, including a floral piece that will blow your mind.

Leaf subsides to leaf

Fall is slipping away and winter looms like a monster in the shadows (I really hate winter). Seeeingred sent in this photo and on this grey, cold day on the North Shore, it made me smile. It’s so tranquil I really kind of want to be there with him.

His piercings (can you spot the microdermal?) were done by Dorian Vilify and the tattoos by Evan Oslund of Custom Ink & Steel in Flint, Michigan. Sometimes it’s nice to just admire the view. P.S. I don’t mean the trees!

Simply Stunning

It’s always a good day when Madison graces us with a new set of pictures.  This Nova Scotian beauty is no stranger to ModBlog, and was last seen crawling along the beach back in September.  Sporting a new haircut, a new shoulder tattoo, and a new addition to her abdominal tattoo from Scott Forbes of Oceanic Art in Dartmouth, NS; Madison is just absolutely gorgeous in these photos.  Do yourself a favor and head to the new skool tattoo gallery to see all of the photos she’s sent in recently.  Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be off trying to figure out the fastest way to move to Nova Scotia.

Living De Stijl

For those who aren’t art history majors, De Stijl was an artistic movement from in and around the 1920s.  You may not know it by name, but you’d probably recognize some of the art.  Most notably Piet Mondrian’s Composition series, a white background with thick black lines filled in with red, blue and yellow.  The movement was wide reaching and affected not only artists, but architects, fashion designers, and even a musician.  The key elements of the movement were horizontal and vertical black lines, rectangular forms, and only incorporated red, blue, and yellow for colors, as well as black, white, and grey.

IAM: KnifeInTheMachine has taken these elements to heart, and with the help of his artist, Jerson Filho from Brazil, have created a stunning piece that fits into the De Stijl style perfectly.

If you’re an IAM member, head on over to his page to check out some more pictures of the piece.

Back in black

You know a day is going to be a good one when you open up the recent additions to the galleries and discover that the gang at Kipod Tattoo in Tel Aviv have sent in a new batch of photos.

There aren’t enough good things to say about the bevy of talented artists they have out there, so I’ll just let the work speak for itself.  All the photos below are by George Samborsky.

But wait!  There’s more!  Keep on reading to see what other intricate geometric designs George has come up with.

And this is just the beginning of it.  Seriously, stop reading right now and go to the Kipod Studio Gallery.  You can thank me later.

Just.. wow..

Damn you anonymous uploaders!  Remember to fill in the information when you send in your pictures.  That way when they’re posted everyone can know who is in the picture.  And I’m pretty sure a lot of people will want to know who this picture is of that popped up in the lips and rings labrets gallery.

I'll be in my bunk

Update:  The model’s name is Leandra, and this was sent in by her piercer, Chris Saint.

Frilly Pink Things

It’s always great to see attractive modified girls on ModBlog.  What’s even better is seeing them while they’re raising money to support charity.

The following photos of IAM: Pink_Fairy and IAM: Nexizydrate were taken as part of a photoshoot to raise money for cancer research in the UK.  The photos were taken by MC Smith and Peter Whitney, following a play piercing session with Dan Hayes.

Keep reading to see a couple more photos from the shoot.

In case you didn’t know, Nexizydrate is the one with pink hair, and Pink_Fairy has the pink flower in her hair.

You can check out more photos from the shoot in the play piercing gallery, as well as in the BMEGirls gallery.
