Tofu Wobbles, Yonder Lilic Angroves Sway Under Elephants

Ok, I must admit I have no idea what twylasue (Googling it just confused me more) means but the following photos are of him and I thought that as they have a definite Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas feel to them, I’d come up with something suitably random.

“There he goes. One of God’s own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.”

We know what you’re up to, man.

“I hate to say this, but this place is getting to me. I think I’m getting the fear.”

“What? No. We can’t stop here. This is Narwhal country!”

IAM: Bikuki‘s finally finished her camera tattoo!

Edit:

“I got my camera for two reasons – The most simple and easy to explain is that I love photography.

The second is more complicated and personal, and has a lot to do with my grampa. My mum, dad and gran all worked full time when I was in primary school, so every day my grampa would take me home to his for lunch and again after school. I was so close to him – he practically raised me from the age of four through to eight years old. He was an incredibly artsy person who taught me to draw and took me to his photography club when I was a kid, he also gave me my first SLR camera.

In January of this year he had a stroke, and although he’s recovering it gave me the fright of my life and I suddenly became very aware of his mortality (although I used to have nightmares as a kid about him dying, and it was always my biggest fear). I wanted to have a part of him inked on me forever so I knew he’d never leave me – and a camera was perfect.

He’s such a cool old man, and was the only member of my family who actually seemed interested rather than disgusted by my existing tattoos, too, which always makes me smile.

I’ll never forget him.”

Adam Bomb!

Oh my! When I spotted this tattoo on IAM: Holly Golightly my brain almost exploded and I had to post it immediately. Read on to learn more (plus some hot Babel fish action)..

The character above is Adam Bomb (although my favourite was Sumo Sid), one of the Garbage Pail Kids. I used to collect all the magazines and trading cards when I was younger and it really does bring back memories!

Both tattoos by Meme, Taggurs Tattoo, Yuma, AZ.

Twentieth Century Kavadi

Dan sent over these amazing photos a couple of days ago so I asked him for more information on them. This is what he had to say..

“My grandparents lived around the far east during and after WWII and my father used to visit them. He took these in Malaysia in the 1950′s as a young boy, during the festival he had a very strange run in with a Sadhu who told him a one-legged god watched over him, it kind of weirded him out as his grandfather (who helped raise him) lost his leg in WWI. He’s very straight-laced these days and doesn’t have much time for the whole body modification thing, although as a young boy he was fascinated!

Recently I’ve found more photos of the festival, and my grandmother has informed me that she used to go to as many religious festivals as possible because she loved them, also, that she has loads more photos of Thaipusam, plus others in Thailand and Sri Lanka..”

His grandfather was right (well, as a young boy he was anyway), it is fascinating! Another photo after the break, and hopefully Dan will get busy scanning some more photos for me soon.. Hint hint.
