Ear Agony

This swollen and uncomfortable looking ear is from a staph infection of unknown origin. Ultimately it resulted in a week of hospitalization while on three simultaneous antibiotics to kill off the very serious infection. A thing to remember about stretched lobes is that they can act like “the canary in the mine shaft” for a lot of people &mdash if you’re getting a cold, your ears may get a little irritated first, and so on. Or in this case, be the rupture point for an infection (hopefully moddoctor will pop in and comment with something less medically amateur).

Bike Versus SUV

And the doctors even took out his apadravya piercing while he was unconscious. Seriously, I think doctors have a thing with messing with people’s genitals while they’re out… A friend of mine just had lung surgery and when he came to, he discovered that he had a smiley face drawn on his the head of his cock, as if it had been used as a puppet. He confronted the doctors about it and they were embarassed and apologized for not cleaning it off, and said that it was quite normal because “it helped make things less boring”.

I’m not sure if that’s really creepy or sort of funny.

Dreaming of Wotan

Moparnut (at Dragon FX (Kingsway) in Edmonton) sends in this great looking facial scar on Trevor. I’ve been seeing more and more facial scars that are visually akin to Teutonic dueling scars. I don’t want to put words in the mouth of anyone with the scars — let me be really clear that this is my own theory only — but I believe that the reason these are more and more common is that we’ve lost the warrior ethos and challenge from our society, and all we have are myths about it. Because we are unable to experience it except through stories, but still deeply feel it inside us, we try and express it through symbols like this even when the action itself isn’t possible.

PS. The story in this case as far as I understand it is that Trevor has had a ton of facial injuries, but somehow has managed to never get a scar due to mutant healing powers or something… Spur of the moment, he decided he wanted one to last (someone feel free to correct me if I’ve told that story wrong).
