As promised, here are the photos of Ron Garza getting tattooed at Wat Bang Phra in Thailand. You can spot John Durante in the background, who happens to also be in my personal favorite modblog entry of all time.

John Durante (Laughing Buddha, Upland CA) sends in this shot of a 1″ labret being scalpelled up a little to take a nice big besote (click here if you don’t recognize that word; it’ll make sense).

Killswitch KD‘s clavical scars were done by Jon Durante at Laughing Buddha in Seattle, WA.
Jon Durante, who’s been doing an amazing around the world journey with friends (featured here previously: mexico, phuket, borneo, etc), documented this anti-Bush protest/riot while in Bogor, Java, Indonesia. I know it’s not really “ModBlog” related but I hope people would find it interesting nonetheless.
Anyway, I’ve been feeling under the weather and some mornings have trouble getting through the work, so today I’m going to try preposting a bunch of updates. If I do it right, you’ll probably see one appear an hour or something like that, rather than them all posting at once. Hope it works!
John Durante and Ron Garza helping pierce at the Phuket Vegetarian Festival in Sa Pan, Thaiand…
Thanks to John Durante at Laughing Buddha in Seattle for sending in this shot of a great looking set of microdermals (imagine something half way between a transdermal implant and a dermal anchor if you don’t already know the technique).
I recently posted a historical article mentioning that in Ethiopia, mostly women get tattoos. John Durante sends in this photo of him and an Ethiopian client of his at Laughing Buddha in Seattle, Washington. I thought I’d posted it in the past, but I couldn’t find it — my apologies if this is a repeat.
Ron Garza sends in this powerful photo of Jon Durante‘s facial cuttings. Along with several other friends, they climbed to the top of an Aztec pyramid (a site no stranger to blood rituals) and performed a series of rituals and modifications (read and see more on their IAM pages)… They were escorted off the pyramids by the Federales, but the police were respectful and let them go after getting them away from the tourists.
Ron says that they were told this was the most blood spilled on that pyramid in the last five hundred years.
This photo just gives me the chills; and that was before I’d read the story… I think I’m going to leave it up as the top entry for a while (that’s why I posted lots today). It’s really one of my favorite photo sets I’ve received at BME of all time.
