This Ganesha with lotus flowers cutting (I just love the placement and how it’s spread across the arm!) was done by Christiane at Pinpoint Piercing in Oslo, Norway.

Gorgeous DIY Fetus Scarification
Jason Rice (apprenticing under Andrew Niland at Live Once Tattoo in North Bay, Ontario) just did this really pretty fetal cutting on himself. I know it’s not an option for everyone, but I really feel like the heart of body modification — the evolve yourself meme — is in DIY procedures, be it DIY at home, or guided DIY in an apprenticeship.
Ok, I’ll call it “football” this time…
…since everyone got upset when I posted a football face and called it “soccer”. Anyway, following up to the Maradona portrait, here’s one by one of my favorite South American artists, Darwin Enriquez at Mithos Tattoo in Caracas, Venezuela.
Great Baby Portrait
And this is the first color portrait he’s ever done! This is by Paul Oliver at Lucky Soul’s Tattoo in Cambridge, Ontario. Definitely a very good vert attempt!
Autopsy Scar, Sans-Autopsy
Singer just got this intense Y-incision skin removal by Brian (more) at Pure in Brooklyn, NY… This will be very disturbing to a morgue attendant at some point in the future!
Best Tribal, 2007 SLC Tattoo Convention
Jymmi (who has a pretty nice tribal piece himself) snapped this shot of the winning tribal tattoo (a traditional Pe’a) up on stage at the 2007 Salt Lake City Tattoo Convention.
Healed Snowflake Cuttings
As a vague followup to the snowflakes that Wayde cut that I posted back in December, let me share a similar piece on Shannon who had these cut by Brian while he was in Cincinatti about six weeks ago.
White over black tattooing
Danny had a tribal tattoo on his shoulder he wanted to “upgrade”, so he had Johnny at Skinworks in Holland first tattoo it totally black, and after it was completed, the lotus and cherry blossoms were added over top using white ink (see also: a white dragon chestpiece over black done using a similar method).
Two great BME tattoos
There are so many really nice BME logo tattoos out there, but I wanted to share two specific ones today. First, here’s Deviant Star‘s BME heart design by Ben at Medway Tattoo and Piercing, who writes, “I couldn’t think of a decent way to show it that wasn’t cheesy, so I took this in my pub.” The photo turned out great I think:
Joeltron though I think has one of the nicest BME tattoos out there, a really amazing piece by Trevor Bennett at Wicked Ink in Sydney, Australia… All done now after about twenty-five hours of work!
El Pibe de Oro
This great portrait of Diego Armando Maradona (an Argentinian soccer player) was tattooed by Alex de Pase in Grado, Italy (previously: jester tattoo).
