This in progress sleeve (which will probably be in Monday’s tattoo update in the star tattoo gallery if you want to see the high res photos) of the constellations was done by Emily at Urge in Victoria, BC.

Coming soon!
My friend and occasional BME writer Bizarroboy (see also: Arty Time, Dripping, Eye Can See More, or A Salaryman’s View) just finished a lengthy teaching stint deep in Australia and had a chance to do an interview about ritual cutting (what would be called “self injury” here) and subincision among Aboriginal people in Australia… Watch for that either here or on BME in the next week or two.
“Pussy Ash Tray”
Hey, I’m of the “[tobacco] smoking is unhealthy” sort, but to each their own. But I’m glad they’re using an ashtray 😉. I wonder though if this has the same effects as urethral stuffing of unsmoked tobacco — basically giving you an intense rush because of how quickly it is absorbed. The full set of this is in the Lizzy and Philly bonus gallery (mentioned here before) in this weekend’s BME/HARD update.
Puzzles + Geometry
This piece is by Vincent Hocquet at Beautiful Freak Tattoo in St. Idesbald, Belgium. You can see more of his work in his BME tattoo portfolio.
Oldschool Leatherpunch Piercing
Other than the issues of sterilization and contamination, the leather punch is a remarkably functional body piercing tool. I know several people who are now well-respected piercers who used them to do their first (self) piercings! It creates a hole analogous to a dermal punch, comes in a wide range of sizes, and makes a remarkably clean cut on each side — now, to be clear, I’m not recommending it, and these days it’s cheaper and easier to go to a professional than to buy a leather punch, but the fact is that the majority of the time, they’re a very functional DIY tool!
Pitbull Portrait
This portrait of the client’s dog is a work in progress by Justin the Blood at In the Blood Tattoos and Rock N’Roll in Pittsburgh, PA. Oh, and am I crazy in thinking that he looks a little like a meaner, tattooed version of Spencer Rice (as in the “nice guy” from Kenny Vs. Spenny)?
If you like stuff all about dogs, lots of people have tattooed their best friends, like Eddie, Binky, and Pee Wee Martini, or this beagle, another beagle, a curious Dachsund, a Shar-pei, and this Boston terrier. There’s also fictional dogs like Toto, Dogbert, Bebe Dog, and Clarus the Dogcow. Not into tattoos? There’s also dog scars and dog scar portraits, as well as suspending over dogs, a dog riding a suspension, a dog lifted by suspension old tattooed dogs, new tattooed dogs, pierced dogs, and even dog shocker collars!
Beat that, cat people.

Conan the Barbarian
Tattooed by John Devilman at Tattoo Syndicate in San Bernadino, CA… which he tells me is the most dangerous city in California, so I can see the suitability of the governator tattoo… “That which does not kill you makes you stronger.”
Double Lucky
In my opinion, horseshoes should always be tattooed so they look like the letter U (ie. the points should face up) so the luck doesn’t run out. That said, in some cultures, the idea is reversed (so for example, you might hang it upside down over a door so the luck pours onto you). They also ward off bad faeries. So… I’m not sure what exactly the effect on TemptedBliss is going to be, but I’m sure it’ll be good. Hip ink by Steve at Defiance in Kent.
