I’ve said it before, but whoever comes out with “joggle eyes” (the toy eyes with the eyeballs that jiggle around inside them when they move) that mount on microdermals is going to make a killing… Personally I wouldn’t augment my tattoos, but definitely I see lots of people who decide to put eyeballs and other accents on their tattoos a la this customer of Efix‘s at D-Markation in Quebec City (who had to “settle” for 3mm prong set Anatometal ends).

Cancer Survivor Breast Tattoo
Marie’s dragonfly and pink ribbon breast cancer tattoo was done by Tony at Finest Lines in Wickliffe, Ohio, and she explains that she’s a four-year breast cancer survivor, and after reconstruction surgery and healing, she decided to get this tattoo to cover up all the scars.
Kick Ass.
Continue reading for some more shots of the tattoos that iam:kickin’ ass since 1985 has running up the back of her legs — I quite like that they end in 1/4″ jacks — as well as her nice pubic penguin tattoo. The pubic piece was done by Vicky at Wildcat in Antwerp, Belgium, and the legs are by Gaïtan at Paul and Friendz Brussels Tattoo in Brussels, Belgium.
Butterfly Train
This gorgeous legpiece (photo: Deerheart), crossing over on the feet, was done for Nadine by Marc from the Swastika Freakshop in Germany. He’s also doing a great set of wings for her which you can check out both on BME and on her page.
Custom Titanium Industrial Jewelry
Karl had a pair of lobe piercings and a helix (with 14ga rings in them), and after seeing a lot of nice industrial piercings, he decided he wanted something himself. As a jewelry maker, he made himself what he calls “Kadster’s Cubics and Claws“, a piece of custom titanium jewelry he made for himself. It’s put into the lobes first, and is then turned upside down to fit into the helix.
Yowch! Under the fingernail tattoo!
It probably won’t last (I’ll post a follow-up if there’s something to post), but this writer’s fingernail got torn off at work, so they thought “why not get a skull tattoo” (done by Jake at Alkali Tattoo and Body Piercings in Janesville, WI) and see what would happen… Yes, it hurt a lot.
Dia De Los Robotos!
I got a laugh out of this geeky 50s robot take on a Day of the Dead type skull, done by Step at 46 and 2 in Fargo, ND. See also Day of the Dead tattoos, Sugar Skull tattoos, and Dia De Los Muertos tattoos (I’m loving the new keyword galleries) for lots more in this style.
Oh, the drama!
I like the take that Sinstress and her partner got on the matching/wedding-ring type tattoo theme — a heart padlock, and, instead of the old cliché of a key, a bolt cutter. Wondering why a bolt cutter? Well, Sintress had actually gotten her half of the tattoo — the lock — a year earlier with someone else, and that person has the key tattoo!
Esmeray’s Sub-Clavicle Piercings, Part Two
Speaking of deep piercing, Esmeray recently re-did what’s arguable the deepest piercing, and the only one to enter the inner body cavity. This is her second time with them. The new ones are three weeks old, with the previous ones having been retired after about six months. She was without them for about a year before having Brandon at Blackwater Tattoo in Schofield, WI redo them for her, this time with PTFE (previously it was Tygon), and so far she’s preferring this jewelry. She describes the feeling of having them done,
“People think that the piercings themselves must hurt so much, but really, I feel they barely hurt, but the feeling is so intense and so different than anything else, that if it weren’t so darn dangerous, I’d have it redone again just for that feeling.”
Body skewering people are I assume tapping into the same sensations. Anyway, click to zoom in on the various photos.
Keloid Art
You might have noticed in the John Joyce interview, that near the bottom there’s a shot of him doing a hip/rib cutting (at Scar Wars III). It’s on Gogo_Savvy, and the healing has been amazing, with pronounced and even keloiding… Check it out!
