If this hadn’t have been submitted to the galleries and I had seen it somewhere else I would have sworn it was a sticker or some kind of transfer. It’s probably just James Pruitt‘s choice of a white outline that makes it pop as well as it does. In any case, James definitely made some TMNT fan very happy.

(BME)Girls On Film
Those of us that were around in the 80s might remember Duran Duran’s single “Girls on Film”. It’s a safe bet that if you’ve seen the video, you’ll never forget the song. So when a BMEGirl sends in some photos including a heart with the chorus for Girls on Film you know you’re in for a treat.
Those legs belong to lavenderbrown, who is the BMEGirl in question. To see the rest of her, you’ll have to keep on reading.
Credit for the heart goes to Loz from Westside in Brisbane, Aus, while the 80s cartoon inspired sleeve in progress is a collaborative piece from the artists at Illicit Tattoo in Auckland, NZ. If you look close you can see the outlines of Jem and Rainbow Brite.
You can see more photos of this lovely BMEGirl in the BMEGirls gallery. As well, you can check out more heart tattoos here, and cartoon tattoos here.
Holy Roller(coaster)
With the way Jesus’ knuckles are glowing, I’d say he’s probably praying at that moment. Granted this isn’t the first time ModBlog has posted a picture of Jesus white-knuckling it.
Jesse Smith from Perfect Image in London did this biblical tattoo. While it probably could go in the religious tattoo gallery, this one can be found in the cartoon and comic gallery.
Thrash Cat
Welcome back from the weekend everyone. To kick things off this week we’ve got a cat tattoo that would fit right in with an 80s cartoon show. If the show were about punk cats. “jjthejonplane” sent this in, and while I’m not sure if he’s the artist or the recipient, I’m guessing he’s from around Maryland, as “Shit Pit” and “Gorons” are both names of Maryland punk bands.
This particular tattoo comes from the miscellaneous tattoo gallery.
If you’ve got photos of any of your tattoos, or any other modifications, send them in to BME. Don’t have a subscription yet? Get a free one today.
Hear no evil
It’s been a while since we’ve had a BMEBoy post, so to correct that oversight we’ve got Evil_Emil.
Those with good eyes will spot Patrick in Emil’s Spongebob half-sleeve. Pecka Lindahl from Pecka’s Tattoo in Östersund, Sweden is the artist behind the work. You can check out the full sized image in the cartoon and comic book tattoo gallery.
“It’s just a bit of…harmless brain alteration, that’s all.”
The extent of my knowledge of Wallace and Gromit is that they’re claymation characters from some British animation studio, and evidently they’re super popular. As with everything popular, eventually someone will get a tattoo of it. Katy Colvin from Liquorice Tattoo in Kirriemuir, Scotland sent in this piece of the claymatic duo on a fan’s arm. Liquorice Tattoo has been sending in a lot of really great portraits lately so expect to see more from Katy in the coming weeks.
The full size image of this one can be found in the newly renamed Cartoon & Comic Gallery.
The Smash-up
PENGUIN SMASH!!
Ryanthetoxicboy sent in this tattoo of a penguin destroying a city, that was done by Sam Wolf from Signature Tattoo.
I don’t know about you, but I think it’s best we take a moment to respect the noble penguin. You never know when the day will come that they’ll get sick of our cute movies and commercials, and rise up to conquer the earth.
Cheers!
It may not be happy hour in your neck of the woods just yet, but when you’re Hello Kitty, every hour is happy hour!
HelloStephanie sent in this photo of Hello Kitty getting her drink on. She gets bonus points for having her toenails match the tattoo.
I Heart You
Oh young love. Where every moment feels like the first, and the last. Every feeling is magnified a thousandfold, and your heart feels like it could beat out of your chest. Where you take your heart, and offer it up to another, hoping that they do the same. Alas, Cupid’s arrow doesn’t always hit both of his targets square in the heart, and while one person may fall head over heels in love, the other might only get a flesh wound. So what is one to do? Grab hold of that arrow, rip out their own heart and offer it freely, with the hope that the other person will do the same? Or leave it buried deep within themselves, forever lodged in their chest, aching whenever they think of the one they lost.
Tattoo by Chris from buxe voll?tattoo in Germany.
Even unicorns have bad days
You ever have one of those nights where you’re just in a foul mood, and need to drink away your problems. You hit the bars, smoke a lot, and down any kind of booze you can find. After you’re good and sauced, you get into a fight, and hit on someone, not necessarily in that order. The next morning you awake with the hangover from hell and the only thing your body is capable of doing is getting everything out as quick as possible.
Well, this can happen to unicorns too. Don’t think that just because they’re all rainbows and sunshine they can’t have a bad day. You know how hard it is to constantly be happy and prance about with a heart tattooed on your ass? Well, if you ever see a unicorn out on a binge, make sure to stay out of their way, lest you end up gored by a horn and covered in rainbow vomit.
Evil_Emil sent in this piece by Pecka Lindahl from Pecka’s Tatueringskonst, in Östersund, Sweden.
