Pin Hope On This Promise

Good day, fair ModBloggers! Hope the weekend finds you all well. Before you celebrate your country by blowing up a small part of it this evening, take a look at this intense stomach flesh-removal piece on Travis by Dan Marshall while guest-spotting at Studio 13 in Bowmanville, Ontario. After the jump, a few more shots of the procedure (including one a few weeks into the healing process).

Here we have Dan and Travis, horsing around with some sort of medieval death blade. “Please take note of the sweet-ass Soviet tank goggles,” Dan says in between vicious stabs.

And this is the piece about a month and a half into the healing process. There are obviously some slight textural inconsistencies, but, as we’ve seen in the past, six weeks or so is hardly enough time to tell exactly how a scar will end up. We’re definitely looking forward to seeing how these progress!

The Freedom Bleeder

We took a look at this hateful hell demon a few months ago, when it had been freshly cut by Brandon Vermillion from Fillmore Tattoo (who you may remember as the young man who got his damn eyebrow cut off and ignited one hell of an amusing flamewar). Well, it’s a few months down the path towards healing now and, I have to say, still looks pretty damn angry and not just a little evil. Maybe it’s because he’s got all those teeth and no toothbrush? It’s hard to get a read on murderous hell-beasts these days.

Rather Be Ashes Than Dust

And here we have an interstellar entry from Anders, who carved these godless occult symbols into an impressionable youth’s fingertips. At least Jupiter and Neptune will be most pleased.

A Heavy Yoke

The ever-impressive Roland in Freiburg, Germany (more), sends in this excellent fresh cutting, done on a fella who appears to work out every now and then.

As well, we’ve had a few commenters note lately that they’d like to see more healed scarification work, so check back tomorrow to see an in-progress report on a cutting we’ve featured recently. You think you’re excited? Feel these nipples!

Reece Gets His Face Peeled

I have to admit, for a split second when I saw these shots of Reece’s facial cuttings by Iestyn, my thought was, “When did Lucky Diamond Rich stretch his nostrils?!” The full-facial black tattoo is pretty high on the list of radical transformations a person can undergo, but when it’s well executed (as it certainly is in this case), the result is really wonderful, I think, and I’m very curious to see how these healed scars add to Reece’s appearance! Some procedural shots after the jump.

Not Without My BFG 9000

This murderous, ravenous hell demon was brought into the world by local sorcerer Brandon Vermillion of Fillmore Tattoo in Fillmore, California. Vermillion, as you may remember, was the centerpiece of this hilarious shitstorm, so I guess we can surmise that, at the very least, he has not gone blind in one eye, thereby allowing him to summon this wretched beast, with a scalpel.

Also Coming to the Philly Convention? BME!

(Self-done BME logo cutting by Jon Underwood — his first, no less!)

As if John Joyce, John Durante, Brian Decker and Ryan Ouellette weren’t enough to get you to the upcoming Philadelphia Tattoo Arts convention, running in scenic Philadelphia from February 27 to March 1, hold onto your butts, because BME will be there too! And not just walking around fondling people, either — we’ll have a booth and everything! The ever-lovely MissMeg will be on hand to pierce, and Rachel will be there holding down the fort, filming, taking photos, selling T-shirts [Note: buy T-shirts, lots of them] and doing all sorts of fun giveaways. This is shaping up to be one hell of a weekend, friends — get there.

Also, there is still space available for people/shops/etc. looking for booths. Visiting the convention’s web site for details, or call Troy at 215-882-1362.

John Joyce, Philadelphia and You

You begged. You pleaded. You weren’t satisfied with a line-up of scarification artists at the upcoming Philadelphia Tattoo Arts convention that featured only John Durante, Brian Decker and Ryan Ouellette. Well, Syracuse heartthrob John Joyce will also be in attendance and is looking to fill up his Friday. How can you resist? You can’t. And not only that, but he’ll be bringing the very talented (and open for appointments) Rick Lohm with him, as well.

Healed shot of the above scarification, after the jump.

John Durante Would Also Like to Cut You in Philly

In addition to the already stacked line-up of scarification artists at the fast-approaching Philadelphia Tattoo Arts convention, globetrotting bon vivant John Durante will also be available for scarification appointments every day of the convention. This is an absolute murderer’s row, folks. Get thee to Philly.

Revive From Ashes and Rise

Gangster number one Ryan Ouellette from Precision Body Arts in Nashua, New Hampshire, sends in this phoenix cutting he did recently. Wait, what’s that? You want Ryan to cut you? Well holy damn, you’re in luck. He’ll be at the Philadelphia Tattoo Arts Convention from February 27 to March 1, 2009, doing all sorts of fun things. Visit him at PBAscars.com to set something up.

Also, the above cutting after three months of healing, after the jump.
