The gang’s all here

When it comes to free fall suspensions, the Sinner Team has it down to a science.  This being one of the most dangerous suspensions, it’s best not to even think of attempting it unless you’ve done a LOT of homework and have a lot of experience not only with suspensions, but with rigging and rope climbing.  With Stanislav and Elena having taken the plunge, the rest of the team lined up for their own turns jumping off the bridge.

Now, they haven’t sent in any photos of the crew’s jumps, but they have put a copy of the trailer for their free fall suspension film online.  The film is set to premiere at Oslo Suscon, so those of you attending, be sure to keep an eye out for it.  I’ve also got a video in my inbox from Stanislav that I haven’t had a chance to look at yet, but when I do I’ll be sure to upload it to BME so everyone can check it out.  In the meantime, check out the trailer below.

See Saw

The St. Petersburg, Russia based suspension group #Leeds is back with a new series of suspension photography.

The theme for this photo in particular was from the Saw film franchise.  As for the quote, keep in mind English isn’t their first language, so just enjoy the photo of the invisible chair suspension.

Backstage pass

When it comes to suspension photos, especially ones from the #Leeds Suspension Team, the main focus is on the person suspending.  Now I mention the #Leeds team not only because this photo is from one of their suspensions, but because their team is mostly performance based, with their suspensions being part of either a live show or a photoshoot.  Of course, without the team behind the suspensions, we wouldn’t get such amazing photos from them, like these two photos from back in March.  So here’s a shot of Arseniy looking on backstage while the subject of the shoot hangs above in the invisible chair suspension.

Breaking away from the ordinary

Hi everyone, I’m back from my wilderness retreat and I come bearing gifts.  From the cold frigid air of St. Petersburg, Russia, the #Leeds suspension crew makes it a point to break away from the mold when it comes to suspension photography.  Now don’t ask me how this photo was obtained, as I have it on good authority that the last person to cross the #Leeds crew is still hanging from hooks somewhere in Siberia.

The ModBlog margins don’t do this photo justice at all.  There’s such a contrast between the calm expression on his face and the chaos of the cords shattering behind him, that the only way to appreciate it is by going to the #Leeds Suspension team gallery.

Spring cleaning….

As mentioned in my earlier post, I had some lost gems sitting dormant in my [email protected] email account. Lost amidst the spam for mail order brides and penis enlargement pills were these pics from Pete Sheringham of The Hanged Man suspension team of Melbourne, Australia and definitely deserve a post……even if it is a few months after the fact.

For two more shots from this set, keep on keeping on.

The Face Lift

If you haven’t had a chance to read this weekend’s recap of the 2011 Dallas SusCon, stop what you’re doing right now and go read it.

One of the most talked about moments of the weekend was Swing Shift Side Show‘s Andrew performing a face-lift; a 7 point facial suspension.  A little back story on this suspension is needed.  About 5 years ago, Supa performed the very first facial suspension, using 10 hooks.  Since then he’s performed the feat 2 more times.  Andrew, a consummate performer got in touch with Supa and inquired how to go about performing this extremely dangerous suspension.  Fast forward a few years, and here we are, with the second person to perform this suspension.

It must be noted, time and time again, this is not something to attempt to do ever.  Andrew trained for years just to be able to develop the strength in his neck to make this possible, and even then, there was no guarantee of success.  Those who have seen him perform live will know just how strong his neck is after witnessing his rope act, where he suspends himself above the crowd help up only by a band of fabric wrapped around the back of his head.

So today you’re going to get to see what only a few people have witnessed so far, Andrew’s 7 point facial suspension.

Again, do not even think of attempting this suspension.  Even surrounded by some of the best practitioners in the world Andrew made it clear that the results were unknown and under no circumstances should anyone try to replicate any part of this suspension.  With that said, if you want to check out the video of the suspension, keep on reading.

This is the unedited version of the suspension that Jenn O. Cide from Swing Shift and Christiana from Wings of Desire filmed.  Unfortunately the battery died on my camera about a minute before Andrew came down for the final time.

Expect to see more photos and videos from SusCon over the next few weeks in the Dallas SusCon gallery.

Step right up!

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls!  Presenting the most fantastic show under the big top, The #Leeds Suspension Team‘s Flying Circus!

They’ve got clowns, dancers, and feats so incredible your eyes won’t believe it!  So step right up, and prepare yourself for something magical!

First up is the ginger superman!  Here you can see her getting ready to soar above the crowds.

Next up is the daring Inga!  In a breathtaking move, Inga will transition from an embryo suspension, into a knee suspension.

And that’s just a small tease of what you can expect to find when you go to the #Leeds Suspension Team gallery on BME!  See Inga fly through the air as her ropes are cut out from above her!  Watch as clowns soar overhead!  Experience the breathtaking beauty of suspensions like you’ve never seen before!

Alone in the dark

Every time we see photos from The Sinner Team, there’s always a smiling dread-locked man somewhere in the background.  Well that man is Stanislav, the leader of the team, and guinea pig for some of their riskiest suspensions (like the free-fall suspension we saw a few months ago).

Today he’s somewhere in Russia, deep underground, setting up the rigging for what could possibly be a sensory deprivation suspension.  Hopefully we’ll see some photos of the suspension itself, but for now, here’s the handsome devil himself, in all his night-vision glory.

On a somewhat related note, Allen over at Suspension.org recently updated the suspension crew listings trimming out any broken links.  So if you’re looking for a crew in your area, be sure to check it out.

Now if you’re looking for a tattoo or piercing studio, BME411 is your one stop resource for finding the studios in your area.

The power of three

What’s better than three gorgeous women standing in a row?  How about three gorgeous women suspending on a spinning bar.

If you recognize the room, it’s because that’s the same room in Moscow The Sinner Team used for their last tandem suspension.

This particular suspension consisted of a 4pt elbow suspension, and two 2pt knee suspensions.  There are a lot more photos in the Sinner Team’s gallery, so just click on the picture above to check them out.
