Another unusual female genital piercing

You may remember that a while back I posted a cervical piercing (on which you should definitely read the follow-up interview, so let me add this unusual genital piercing that’s resultant from a split Princess Albertina. Erika decided to take the two flaps that were left from the split (sort of a mini “female subincision” I suppose!) and pierce them each with a barbell.

Yurah Kalmikov at Planeta Tattoo in Kiev, Ukraine did the piercing and everything is healing nicely. To the best of my knowledge, and theirs as well, this is the first piercing of this type… So far they’re just calling it “Erika’s Fantasy”, and unless anyone else steps forward, they have naming rights!

Well Healed Oldschool Surface Piercing

There was some heated discussion a while back about doing surface piercings with a CBR, which is widely acknowledged as not the most ideal way to go about things… Anyway, Roo fixed the RAID array in my one of our archive boxes so I was able to retrieve this picture of a Madison piercing that I took at six years old, done with a circular barbell and looking perfectly healthy. I don’t have any reason to believe that it’s rejected since — if the wearer kept it, it would now be sixteen years old.

Either way, it certainly had no difficulties healing. I’m definitely not recommending rings — I feel strongly that surface bars are the way to go — but I did just want to say that just about everything can and does heal on someone. While risk of failure does increase dramatically when one chooses less than ideal jewelry, it absolutely does not guarantee failure…

Monarch Butterfly Tattoo

This is Tobii’s first legal tattoo (a coverup — which is part of the reason you should wait until you’re legal so you can go to a quality artist), a set of Monarch butterfly wings on each ankle (half on each ankle that is). This photo was taken with one of the butterflies from the first batch she raised — both the tattoo obsession and the butterfly raising obsession were inheritted from her father, making it very significant to her. The tattoos was done by Jeanine at Valle’s Tattoo in Danbury, CT.

Non-Temporary Corset Piercing

Cat had this great permanent (click for a shot showing that; it’s now four months old and doing well with no signs of rejection) corset piercing done by Jason AKA Rip who works at Addiction NYC. The piercings were done with eight surface bars using CBR beads for the lacing in photoshoots and flatback beads for day-to-day wear.
